Broski? Did you join a frat over the weekend, Colonel? Crush a couple too many bud light's into your forehead?
Lol it was meant to be patronizing.
And ew, budlight? Pff, give me some credit.

Okay, I'm getting mixed vibes here. Okay...okay. Okay. I'm slightly offended, but also kind of sad Becuase of this post. You just...implying that I'm too shitty a person for fictional people to like? Because I do everything I can for these characters, almost to the detriment of my own health and wellbeing, and...and...and what? You're saying I'm just not good enough for them.
Is...is...is that the theme they're trying to impart this time around, this game. That some people just aren't good enough to be liked by fictional characters. Yeah...yeah...yeah. I guess that's a lot like real life. People just don't like people sometimes. Even if they're nice, even if they buy them presents, even if they are trying so hard not to run away and hide. They have to act exactly the way you want or, or f*ck em right? Is that about right? Am I understanding that correctly. cause if that's the case it seems incredibly realistic given the circumstances. I come in here looking for a conversation, and all I get are insults. I'm the problem. I'm the one who's looking to talk for real people for once instead just playing some game. I'm the problem. Coming in here upset at a fictional character. I should just bite my tongue and let people trample all over me? Hide myself and my opinions because otherwise you'll hate me?
Hmm...guess it is pretty realistic.
Frankly, if you are not trolling on purpose, this is one of the closest things I've ever seen to trolling… I suggest that if you are genuinely seeking constructive dialogue, you should reconsider your approach.
I'm mad stylin, today.
I'm wearing my favorite Doc Martens with my custom dyed fade green pants and my tower t-shirt. All I need is some wolves somewhere and I'll be the most fashionable Solasmancer in the room....except, I'll be the only one who knows it.
I love the idea of this "fade green" because it's a shade of green only a very specific group of people would understand.
Pabst or Natty Light, most likely.
Don't drink much but when I do, it's coke and jack daniels preferably. But usually my preference is whatever is free. Even that ratpiss Bud light is bearable when it's not coming out of your pocket.
I didn't think my quizzy meant it as a "kill all the others for Solas" sort of thing. Not knowing that Solas was the cause of all this trouble in the first place, she felt she owed him for saving her life. It just came out sounding kind of awkwardly intense. Anders, on the other hand, I could totally believe.
Inquisitor: "Whatever I have to . . . to get in your weird apostate pants thing you got going on."
Solas: "Thank you." (A moment of genuine appreciation)
Inquisitor: *stares* (But seriously . . . we should do it.)
Solas: *stares back* (Maybe I should vaguely allude to my Elvhen Power Ball?)
Meanwhile, in Disco Hell, someone with all the power balls is biding his time.

This. I'm currently writing a younger Solas, so he has hair, but even rationalising that I just cannot quite capture the image in my mind.
Solas is bald, it makes him look monk-like, wise, spiritual, all those other connotations. And from me that is a very important part of his character.
I definitely think Solas underwent an important haircut.
The hair/bald head is a nice marker for determining where in his character development process you are at.
I dunno, "whatever I have to" is a pretty generic* statement, and could include "kill all others for Solas". I don't take it that way myself, but I could see why others would.
* said vague originally, wrong word.
Also is the website running slow for anyone else?
I was joking..mostly. Like Sable said - it comes off as rather intense and a bit awkward since you pretty much just met him. I always find it really funny since the rest of the flirts are really playful and sweet but only after she's established that she's "SRS BIZNASS 'BOUTCHOO BAE".

Goddamnit, Colonel. Are you a lumberjack or a blacksmith too? xP

Well, my family thinks I dress like the former, lol. They don't like my boots or my flannels. Whatever.
Love pancakes though.

Yes, I realise that, there is a reason nuns and monks shave their heads, it has to do with conquering personal vanity.

That made me laugh. xD
Yeah, I think that dialogue would have had more weight to it if it'd been said later, probably. Mebbe in the Fade scene?

Exactly! And that is also why, I might not have fallen in love with young Fen'Harel (being too proud and cocky), but a bald Solas is the point where I love his personality the most and grew into it. Though, we have yet to see what personality young Fen'Harel had anyway.

I thought that all the ancient elves were just bald lol

There is a way to complain or to point out things you dislike with a game, character etc without being insulting to others. It's diplomacy. Opinions are like testicles as Varric would say. But seriously, there are things I do not like about Solas but I don't come in here and shove it down people's throats. What would be the point? If anything it will make them stubborn and more resolved to hate anything I say from that point onward. Debates are great but it is important to think about how things are being worded. I'm still going with you drink too much caffeine. Plus, if you honestly believe buying gifts is a good way to get people to like you then I think you need to reevaluate what is really important in life.

Ahah, alright! I expect him to actually irritate me greatly, if we ever happen to see young Fen'Harel in DLC or wherever, I'm pretty sure I'll be wanting to slap him for being too proud and stubborn. These two things already irritate me in nowadays Solas, so, if they're amplified in his younger self...
I dunno, "whatever I have to" is a pretty generic* statement, and could include "kill all others for Solas". I don't take it that way myself, but I could see why others would.

Yes...it's running very slow for me. Very annoying!

Glad it wasn't just me.
I'm still alive, I'm so sorry thread, my nextdoor neighbors think they're House 1 when they're House 2 (essentially) and their mixup has caused my internet to be cancelled for the last 3 weeks (ongoing situation, can't get new connection til xyz stuff is done by the company blabla).
Hope you're all ok ![]()

Talk about a perfectly good reason to murder.

I've been thinking today that young Fen'Harel been grossly misrepresented. I think he was a rebel to be sure, but his deep intellectualism has me thinking he was more of a 19-year-old-straight-out-of-1st-semester-of-poly-sci-Marxist than a young man dripping in sexual prowess and finger-gunning random elvhen babes into ecstasy when he walked into the room. That's simply not his personality.
He was an idealistic risk taker who had ideas about how the world should be, uncompromising in how he thought the world should function, and pointedly went about achieving that future without much thought as to the fallout of those decisions. Political/ philosophical radical, cocky in his intellectual superiority.
Not the vain sexual predator fanfiction seems insistent on pushing on him. That's far more Falon'Din's domain than just about anyone else's at this point.

True, but in my case I'm afraid none I know IRL will understand...Which kind of makes me want to reconsider my choices.

Oh, I agree that the fanon is probably way off the mark. I also just happen to think it's intensely sexy, so I care a bit less about OOC in this case
For all we know, all of Solas's game came later in life, and he was a total dork with the ladies when he was younger.
Though hotshot intellectual Solas is hot too. He's just generally sexy.
(Sorry NOT SORRY for taking your thoughtful post and drooling all over it)
