So I just saw the news :o

Patrick WEEKESSSSSSSSS as the lead writer..

Do you think it's a bad thing or a good thing?

David Gaider likes the dark side, Patrick is rather versatile - on one had we have Mordin, on the other hand - didn't Weekes want a cure for Thane's illness?

I love Weekes, he write terrific characters, I'm not unhappy with that, I'm just wondering about Solas' fate as both as a meaningful character and as an LI.

I don't know if he wanted a 'cure' for Thane but he did say that he supported the option to have him survive and become a war asset so at the very least he supported a treatment - such a shame that the others on the team didn't listen to this wisdom, it would have made a lot of people very happy, moreso than how much it would have made the doom lovers sad I think.

I do think, looking at his other characters, that PW is unlikely to force Solas into a one note ending unless he has no choice in the matter,  I'll be surprised if there is no choice at all. :)

I would have preferred it if Thane had leaped into the scene and killed Kai Leng with a single backhand, then died giving a thumbs up to Shepard. Or at least knocked him back into a respectable villain status. Still one of my favorite scenes in ME3, when he sasses Leng for being beaten by a long-gone terminally ill retired assassin.

But I wouldn't have supported a cure for Thane. Too much of his story was wrapped up in his dying, his coming to terms with his death, and trying to make amends. It'd...cheapen it, I guess.

Kind of like how I wouldn't have supported curing Blackwall's calling as part of the romance if he was, um, actually a Grey Warden. I don't approve when characters get to dodge the Bullets of Fate that we've been waiting in dreadful silence to fire for ages.

Love the first one! I'm going to have to get a Tumblr aren't I. >_< Is there a how-to guide for dummies for that gorram website?

The last one definitely applies to me. xD If I want to romance anybody else, I have to make sure it's not a f!Lavellan, because goddamn I cannot resist.

2) Another idea on the Qun - a country is a brain.

Very interesting approach to the Qun, that's probably why they accept people that weren't born under the Qun: as long as they fulfill their role, it doesn't matter much. But it's curious they are not Qunari but Viddathari; same as we don't call a pump "heart". There is a strong reaction against the Qun because of Western society emphasis on invidividualism and free will, but I find them the most fascinating civilization in the game, precisely because they are so different. The issue of what is actually freedom is brought up in several conversations in DAI (for instance when confronting Dorian about slavery), and I love that.

About the glitterotica thread, I'm glad they got one; it was funny and kept the thread lively, but tbh after some time to me it became tiring and too dominant over other conversations; I'll visit them in small doses and hope all the amazing people didn't leave this thread for good.

It has. :( And I'm gonna miss it too.

I guess I could just lurk at the Elven Pantheon thread but I already have a hard time keeping up with this thread, what's more two threads. I just hope some of that glitter comes back to us from time to time. ^^;

I'm not going to miss how very, very smutty it made the thread, though :P

But it was very lively around here.  Hopefully all the glitter people wont stay away completely.  We still have cake and kittens and blanket forts!  You can come back whenever you like!

There are a few sites that can help you get started on Tumblr. :) Here are some sites I've found that could (hopefully) help.

On-topic: So, Solas eh? Getting fidgety hands are we? :P

Kai Leng getting beaten up by a terminally ill retired assassin was the best part of the game.  I hated the way everyone carried an idiot ball whenever Leng was on screen.  If the only way to make a villian smart is to make everyone dumb then it's not good writing.

I'm confident that Weekes will take Solas' arc somewhere interesting.  It may not have a happy ending (or a happy ending that is hard to get) but I'm sure it will be a good journey.

Hehe! I could understand how all that smut could make things a bit awkward here. (Though I admit, I did enjoy it because I'm a perv. :P)

But yes, it's mostly the liveliness and fun silliness that I miss.

I hope now this thread won't become the shadow of what it once was.

After all, we have a little rivalry with other character's threads, and a reputation to maintain.

Dare I hope that the shy artist who created this freaking lovely portrait (omg, hmmmmmfphh!!), is a certain someone on the Solas thread who said they were going to do their first arting in years this past weekend? A certain birthday person, perhaps?

*shrugs* Or I am crazy. Either way. But that face is awfully familiar. And clearly comes from a certain gorgeous screenshot another certain lovely person on this thread posted.

Nooo lol, I'm still getting used to making marks on my new tablet. It's very frustrating. I'm used to feeling the graphite bite into the tooth of the paper! I promise to share when I do manage something though. :)

Ok, I'm a huge dork and I've been trying to imagine what Solas might look like if he were a really, real person - and last night my husband and I were catching up on the new season of Shameless when I saw this guy. Am I crazy or is there a resemblance?

Well I'm not going anywhere, anyway. I happen to like it here, so I'm staying put. We subsided on less than glitter gifs before and can again.

With the news yesterday about Gaider, along with patch 5 out and 6 in the works, plus the Emporium imminent, possibly, I feel as though it's only a matter of time before DLC is announced. I only wonder if they will consider BE story DLC, which I hope not- not unless it's attached to more DLC.

Is the Black Emporium near Kirkwall? I wouldn't mind going there to see what the new system makes it look like.

I don't think I quite want a Solas DLC yet. It feels too soon, and I want it to be the biggest DLC. Usually it's the last no?

Me neither, and I'm highly curious, since I love Shameless a lot.

I think she might be referring to Cameron Monaghan playing Ian Gallagher (my favorite) but I'm not sure, hence my curiosity.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect a Solas DLC so soon unfortunately. But now that the 'audience' knows what's up with Solas, they could add in a bit more foreshadowing or injokes with content that is intended to be done during the game.

Well I think if Gaider has finished most of whatever work he had for DAI, well, then maybe the bulk of the writing for the DLCs are done now. He maybe had been in the process of both for awhile now but he would have wanted to write Dorian and Cass, morrigan, etc up, if they were included in any dlc.

So I think most of the writing for all planned DLC is done, and Patrick is trusted enough to make changes where necessary. David's done his job and feels like he left it and his intentions, in capable hands.

Try again, and, no, not Cameron. He's adorable. This was a weird leap.

No, still not working, but since we can see the name of the file, I know now who you're talking about.

Patrick Fischler, a great actor I've seen in numerous TV Shows. And hum, kinda, I guess, even though I don't like Patrick's face much.

Honestly, Cameron could totally pass as a young Solas. He has the jaw, lips and eyes/eyebrows for it. Definitely not the nose though.

Oh yes, I love foreshadowing. They did such a great job at making fun of us (All new, Faded for Her, anyone?), and Solas/Blackwall banters are full of spoilers.
Bioware writers also know what the fandom thinks, and they make jokes in game about it. I could die happy if they somehow adressed Solas romance popularity, or his smut appeal or something.

I have a feeling that the Emporium can be wherever Xenon wants it to be.

This thread is weird. Did anyone consider what would happen when half the posters picked up and moved out? It's like Solas breaking up with me for my own good again.

If you just would have had the pantheon theory discussion in here like you are over there now, the mods never would have warned us.
