Same here. I felt really silly after playing through that sequence the second time. Also, I forgot that the Breach was sealed before we reached Skyhold. That also should have been a dead giveaway. ^__^;

I was still recovering from the Fade kiss and the realization that this was one smooth jerk... then he says the most sassy, sexual thing and I just couldn't take it. That was it. Then the fade tongue line. Oh dear Weekes I was sold. I could never romance anyone else.

The veil is less of a wall and more of a twisting of perception. (Argh, I can't really explain it, you really need to read the codex!)
Mages thin the veil by casting magic. They literally twist reality. Spirits thin the veil by...doing their spirit-y thing. They twist/shape the fade.
Over and over, we are told that no person can shape the fade. Not even lucid dreamers using lyrium, like during the Harrowing. Only spirits can shape the fade.

Like, how did we not see that Solas was something other than a random apostate? He blew his own cover by shaping Haven in the fade and we were all too distracted by fade-tongue (or, at least I was distracted.)

You're not the only one. I swear, the entire sequence from Fade kiss to "sleep well" to talks about Fade tongue is what finally sold the Solas romance for me. 
I was giddy like a schoolgirl the entire time because the things he did in the romance sequences really caught me by surprise. Stupid sexy elf...

I never thought of it that way! Then maybe it continued to grow as regular people sought protection from the gods themselves? Solas longs for a world in which there is no Veil, and he made a foolish mistake in his past. It would be just like him to hate something he helped create.. or complete?
The elven artifacts Solas finds strengthen the Veil right? Maybe "I sense an elven artifact nearby" is really Solas-speak for "I remember placing an elven artifact nearby". What are those things made out of anyway?
And what the heck is the Veil if it's 'a twisting of perception' yet can be strengthened or made thicker? Do those artifacts increase physical reality somehow? Argh, one of these days I want a Thedas-For-Dummies lore book. With small words. And lots of diagrams.

Dang, I totally missed the first part of that codex! Someone trying to rebuild Skyhold was killed by lightning? That's a heck of a defense system. It kinda reminds me of the place in the Emprise with the ancient elven laser fire magic that went wonky.
The other thing that struck me about the codex was this line: "The Veil is old here."
For some reason I'd always thought of the Veil going up everywhere at the same time. But that statement implies the Veil is older at Skyhold than other places. Does that mean it went up gradually, like a wall being built up?
I'm one of those who believes Solas does more evading than outright lying, but I don't quite buy his contribution to Skyhold's codex as all being learned from the Fade. A giant keep with (likely) powerful defense systems in the middle of freaking nowhere? But little trouble if you can travel by dragon, I'd wager. The form reserved for the elven gods and their chosen.

Twisting of perception is kind of like dreaming. Which makes sense that mages touch the fade in dreams. It's less of a wall and more of reinforcing or weakening reality.

omg it's a good thing most of the romance is up to our imaginations because if Weekes wrote more of the sexy smooth jerk's flirtations... the game would be like nc-17 then. solas may not like to openly discuss sex, but behind closed doors, the guy's a perv and freak XD but i wager he was very OPEN with his smut talk as a young lad ahahaha!
That last patch apparently fixed some War Table bugs, since my post-game file had several new missions pop up that I've never seen before. One in particular is really interesting. It's a continuation of the mission about the investigation into the strange markings (triangle with two wavy lines intercrossed) someone was placing all over Inquisition sites. Originally that kinda went nowhere, and I figured it was left in the air, but now there's more.
"Those Across the Sea" are not Qunari, and call themselves The Executors. I chose the Leliana path which simply uncovered info, but out of curiousity I checked the wiki for the Cullen path, and that was even weirder. Seems like three whole camps of Inquisition soldiers simply vanish, with a message from those Executors people that they left willingly for whatever "powers beyond the sea" the Executors were serving. They also seem to hint at future troubles they "hold vigil" for.
Of course, my first thought was that this might be our first encounter with the Kossith, whoever and whatever they are. But in any case, this is big stuff. Like Tirashan big. I want so badly to see what's beyond Thedas...which although we use is as the term for the entire setting, it's actually just the continent we've seen so far. So exciting! I've always thought that when we went north, the story might turn into the Qunari invasion that's been hinted at the whole time, but what if we actually have surprise Kossith invasion coming instead? Might end up giving the Qunari their own Temple of Mythal moment.
Or, if it turns out the Qunari are linked to the elves, and the Kossith are actually another elven faction, that might end up tying into the Inquisitor's current storyarc, which was hinted at by the Executors saying the Inquisition had more troubles coming in the future. Is it also possible they know about Solas? Or maybe they're the reason Solas is in a rush to act...
