GDL responded to my tweet about romance AND IT WAS A SNEAKY GOOD TWEET OMG. I see it's been posted here with my Handle omitted so I won't repost but OMG. I'm so happy I'm flailing about this over in the Cullen thread! YAY GUYS! I'm so happy you finally have good news, even though Bioware hasn't officially said anything, these tweets are so full of hope! *dances around the room* Boyfriend looking at me like I'm crazy.

I'm glad you did! To be honest, I had some reservations about asking, since I worried EVERYONE would and he'd get annoyed... And we really didn't know whether he'd be up for answering a lot of Solas questions anyway. Have to say, I'm really impressed how he handled it... And we got an unofficial maybe (IhopeIhopeIhope) confirmation for Solas as LI. And that he's a badass. And that he really enjoyed the character and voice work. I am so over the moon right now! So needed this after the lack of info lately.

This gives Solas a really big chance imo. I never saw him as a race-gated option... that plus the recent Q&A makes me 90% sure he's a LI

If one of the gender gated characters is also race gated I think it's Cullen. He might be not available to dwarfs, so female dwarfs will get Varric instead : /

See, I was thinking he'd be gated to qunari. Which sucks because that's the character I had planned for him. But she'd go with the Iron Bull. It'd be a neat couple.

Someone probably sent that due to how there's no way Solas is race-gated. I am still trying to figure out where people got that idea from, honestly.

Well, that tweet from the VA pretty much confirms that Solas will be a LI as far as I'm concerned. But it looks like he may not be race-gated, after all. Hmmm...

 

I'm still thinking the other LI has to be Vivienne although that would really disappoint me because I'm pulling for Blackwall.

 

And Indira Varma must be playing Josephine, I think; they both look so alike!

To the awesome people who were watching the Twitter QA like hawks, is this the complete rundown of Solas-as-a-character specific info that is new today from Gareth's qna session? For the purposes of keeping an up to date OP.

• GDL’s favorite aspects of Solas’s character are his passion for his beliefs and how he lacks the need to boast about how ‘nails’ he is [hard as nails, badass]
• Solas’s voice is Welsher than GDL’s
• Solas gets along with Cullen as well as he has to
• Solas is a pretty private person
• "Is Solas an LI?" -> "You will not be disappointed" & "I don’t know what I can say… but enjoy"

He appears to be saying that, of the two gated romances, at least one of them is an already-announced LI. That's how it's reading to me. "An odd thing for me to say, seeing as it's untrue." Is what makes me think that.

I'm really thinking Solas is going to be an ungated LI based on the tweets combined from GDL and David Gaider. I know it's confirmation of nothing, but it's really looking that way.
