Sable is right about controls and graphics, but I would still start with ME1. It took me a few days of will to get into it but then I was all tangled up in it. The story impressed me, it was well made for a game. And the series is just so strong overall if you play all three games. I'd grown very attached to ME. A bit like Solas' head to your whale. Or your husband to the notion of a killing spree.

 

When they write the true crime memoirs based on my husband's downfall, they will call it SOLAS' FLAMING DOOM: One mild-mannered programmer's descent into madness.

 

And done. I will get these damn games and do my best to play them, because until DLC comes out, it seems I've hit a bit of a wall with Inquisition.

Aha, but in fact I was never part of the dominant Solas club! My Lavellan is a sweet, happy little thing but she likes to....take the lead, so to speak.

Is that the allience mission chain where the Inquisition getting involved resulted in a couple being split up for a political marriage?  Because Cullen has the best ending for that one.

Well, I certainly hope Solas would have strong feelings for me. LOOK at me. I'm HOT. Also, he knows what I like. 

 

When he absorbed my power, that was just our special form of foreplay. 

 

Though before I take my revenge, I certainly will revisit Falon's gilded Din. Oh, yes. Mythal takes what she wants.

Yeah, I'm getting a Silmarillion vibe from it...and not the happy, fluffy sort.  More like the Feanor epic trainwreck sort.  I mean, Solas isn't nearly as much of a jerkwad as Feanor was, but they can sit down at the Too Much F***ing Pride table together and have a nice cup of tea or something.

My takeaway from this? At least Solas doesn't have 7 sons (at least, as far as we know) to swear vengeance and fluff things up further on down the road.

I don't actually mind if it does turn out that they were lovers. Its not like Solas is likely to have gone 2000+ years without a romance or two.

 

I just happen to personally like the mother/son relationship spin better, because it just broadens the sheer misery that is Morrigan's extended family life.

I would disagree about the Solas part. I don't think he really has a problem with strong women. Morrigan though definitely seems to have a type, and its strong men. Either ones in power [the warden], or physically strong [Sten.] So I don't think she's likely to be all that attracted to Solas unless there was something additional that happened between them.

I always said that I wasn't opposed to the idea of them having been together in the past. Clearly whatever it was is done in the present Dragon Age universe anyways.

Unless its directly in reference to some sort of comment made at pax that hasn't made its way to us yet, I doubt it. You can have strong feelings about just about anything. 

 

True. I always saw it as something more like a mother-son type friendship thing but some people seem to see it as more on the romantic. Oh well, thanks guys!

Laughter is the remedy to life. Don't you want to extend your life? Turn that angst frown upside down. I still like solas, I just like making him silly.

Then pulling up a lawn chair to watch it all with the tragedy=comedy with time and distance shebang. With an umbrella to shield me from the tear passing thundertear storms.

While eating chipotle, reading trash fanfictions, putting on my sunglasses, and drinking iced tea to cool the lust burning in my soul for that train attendant we passed a couple stops back.

Love the character, am excited to see where this is going, would probably let him brew my coffee at least once, but my cappuccino doesn't commitedly froth for his self-pity hellspiral.

Solas is a great character and I'll prolly get a little swoony when he starts talking to me again. Though "Vhenan" has been ruined for me FOREVER.  Also, would prefer if he animorphed into a raptor and we got a weird dating sim ending.  *sigh* can't have it all i suppose.

Ahem.  Anyway, about Flemythal...first of all, we're not even sure she's still around in anything resembling her original form.  Maybe Solas isn't into the old wrinkly dragon lady look.  Maybe she's changed due to her long possession of Flemeth.  Also, I got the vibe while romancing him that Lavellan represents the future, the possibility that modern Thedas is worth saving.  He rejects that possibility in DA:I because he's a stupid BUTT, but IMO the romance is less about regret and understanding and more about hope for the future.
