As for the Inquisition and the inquisitors, I wonder if this applies to everyone's quizzy... as a trevelyan I honestly never felt this way, but as Lavellan, coming in to "spy" and being swept along as the prophet for a god I don't believe in to an organization that is basically an arm of the chantry who was nothing but dicks to my people... It feels a lot different.

 

I'm out of likes, but that's a perspective I've never really looked at before, and I should really because it's obvious. Take a typed like.

 

Personally my Quizzy goes along with it (fighting against that it came from Andraste, for all anyone does to listen) because when it all boils down to it, she's got the power to stop it and no one else does. I imagine she'd stick around long enough to seal any remaining breaches she can, find out how to seal the ones she can't reach (Leliana mentions it while standing at the war table), and then go home and try to change things for the Dalish. Solas might not have had a lot of luck convincing the Dalish, but she might.

On the subject of what animal Lavellan is, mine is definilty a wolf. Pack animal, strong sense of hierarchy and duty.

I agree with the below! Someone said it but the quote code doofed up. Anyway:

This is part of why the halla and the wolf shtick throws me off. No. No thank you. My Lavellan is a ****** bad ass, a bloody bear disguised in a little elf woman's body, who could figuratively tear Solas to shreds (if she were evil and had the inclination), and Solas was all over that. But I suppose this is kind of headcanon territory, so nobody's really wrong.

I find it curious though that he'll give a Slightly Approves if the Inquisitor tells the elf to go home but if you let him do it it's an Approves. Confirming my thought that he's a bit of an ego maniac who likes the sound of his own opinions. 

 

Than is a common fault. Every character slightly approves of letting them talk. His "approves" there is just the sum of the "slightly approves" for talling the guy yourself to go back home, and the one for letting him talk.

Eh, don't all the Companions approve more if you let them say it, rather than saying it yourself? I'd take it more as a 'pleased that you're letting them voice their opinion' more than anything else.

 

I don't know, I deliberately don't pay attention to approval ratings but I was paranoid during my first playthrough about the romance not activating without enough approval and I remember that one in particular because it was right after the elves discussion so I was extra anxious after all that disapproval.

My Lavellan is definitely too predatory to be a halla. Although I don't mind the visual symbolism of people who do choose to use it as their Lavellan's totem- it is a pretty cool animal. The stag is not necessarily a humble creature. 

 

But I imagine my Lavellan would be more akin to a fox. Another trickster, another predator. She is smaller and perhaps goes undetected by the other forest greats- but she's always watching. Woe be to those who underestimate her. 

 

Halla are known to be intelligent and willful, even Felassan says so. 
 

And from the codex:

 

The second thing you must understand about the halla is that you cannot force a halla to do something against her will. I have heard tales of shemlen who come across herds and attempt to capture the halla, using ropes and bridles. Many shemlen have died impaled on horns as a result of this foolishness. That said, I've always associated my Lady Lavellan more with squirrels.  Bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, and a bit nutty.

Y'know that's the vibe I'm getting when I come into this thread. I'm not saying no one is welcome here but I'm getting to the point where I don't want to come in here anymore cause there are more 'Screw that guy" and "This guy is so much better so let's talk about him a ton" happening in this thread. I'm not saying Solas is perfect and he's upset some players including me but I still love the guy and want a chance at a happy ending for him and my Lavellan other than just wanting to murder knife him like some people do.

 

 

 

 

Just because I want to offer Solas in ritual sacrifice at the feet of Falon'Din, doesn't mean I don't like the character.

 

Also, a diversity of opinions is good. I think there was a game character who enjoyed people challenging his opinions. And also had a sense of humor.

Regarding the Keep, this is how my Inquisition tapestry from my very first PT looks at the moment.

A lot of tiles are hidden and it looks like it got some of the choices I made right. But I can't see the romance tiles and whatever the missing tiles should be.

I like to name my Lavellans after tiny, adorable birds that have anger problems and like killing things- Kestrel and Shrike. As long as they demonstrate a healthy intellectual curiosity, Solas seems to be pretty into it.

Out of likes but that is awesome.  Now I'm picturing the Dread Wolf with a grumpy expression on his face and a squirrel on his shoulder yelling that he should have turned left at the Tirashan

First off I don't go around to other people's fan thread and spew hate on their favorite character and don't give me that  "using words where their meaning don't ring true" bs...when you talk negative about someone's favorite character that's exactly what you are doing.

 

I'm not saying people don't have a right to be angry at Solas but constantly coming in here to do that and gushing over someone else for 20 pages long is getting annoying.
