I associate birds of prey with one of Thedas' other heroes (my Hawke - surprise surprise given her name). I'm a weirdo that likes different motifs for each one so the Inquisitor couldn't be a bird!

 

My Hawke's spirit animal would probably be a dragon.  Powerful, but chaotic and unbridled.  Ultimately something that destroys or is destroyed.  She was such a hot mess.

 

Of the three PCs in my canon worldstate, my Warden Amell is probably the wolf.  Which is hilarious to me because she and Solas would loathe each other.

sorry i didn't know this forum wasn't a public place on the internet...like i said. No one here hates Solas. That was the point I was making. I never once said anything bashing Solas' character outside of the jokes I have posted here. And sorrynotsorry I brought Falon'Din into the picture? He is part of the elven pantheon that Solas happens to be a part of. Also it gave me a reason to start arting again.

Funnily enough, I see my Hawke as far more of a fox-like spirit (I think it was you who said you associated your Inquisitor with a fox, yah?). Name aside, she didn't have the same avian associations for me.

I'm out of likes, but that's a perspective I've never really looked at before, and I should really because it's obvious. Take a typed like.

 

Personally my Quizzy goes along with it (fighting against that it came from Andraste, for all anyone does to listen) because when it all boils down to it, she's got the power to stop it and no one else does. I imagine she'd stick around long enough to seal any remaining breaches she can, find out how to seal the ones she can't reach (Leliana mentions it while standing at the war table), and then go home and try to change things for the Dalish. Solas might not have had a lot of luck convincing the Dalish, but she might.

 

And because a certain amount of posturing is necessary when you've been called upon to save the world.

My Adaar and Solas disagree on just about everything when it comes to magic (though Adaar did rescue Wisdom), and I never got more than a "slightly disapproves" from Solas.  In fact, some of the arguments they've had are really interesting: for example, the one about whether spirits are people.  He's obviously not going to approve if you challenge him, but he never struck me as handling it badly.  He certainly handles it a lot better than, say, Sera.

I did it a few times and it made me end up missing out on his Fade visions stuff, and he didn't call me friend. I only did the Lavellan run once, though I haven't gotten her dumped yet, but on that run, plus my last Trevelyan run where I simply agreed with the spirit stuff (like I personally do anyway) he's a lot different. Hell, I didn't even get his personal mission on the other runs, and all I did was disagree a few times about his magical mumbo jumbo.

This is part of why the halla and the wolf shtick throws me off. No. No thank you. My Lavellan is a ****** bad ass, a bloody bear disguised in a little elf woman's body, who could figuratively tear Solas to shreds (if she were evil and had the inclination), and Solas was all over that. But I suppose this is kind of headcanon territory, so nobody's really wrong.

 

I seem to have rambled. Carry on!

On the subject of what animal Lavellan is, mine is definilty a wolf. Pack animal, strong sense of hierarchy and duty.

For my Lavellan, I went with wolf, mostly because that's what the artwork of the Dalish hunter card was shown as. xD But my Tala does seem to embody some characteristics of wolves like what MaidenM outlined. Tala's greatest fear is loneliness/abandonment so she prefers being in the company of family and friends. A wolf pack. And like a wolf, she may look cute and fluffy sometimes but threaten her or her pack and she'll rip you to shreds. 

 

Halla are known to be intelligent and willful, even Felassan says so.

That said, I've always associated my Lady Lavellan more with squirrels.  Bright-eyed, bushy-tailed, and a bit nutty.

Is this because I posted a few days ago about how I think my Inquisitor is going to have to kill Solas??

 

(I'm really not sure what is going on with the drama in the thread at the moment, I'm out of the loop because I have been absent for a few weeks thanks to my ISP... All of these references are flying around and I'm just like ?__?)

Okay, I think people should stop talking about the social aspect of the thread and move the hell on, on both sides. I don't know you all, but I assume most of us are adults, and even if you're technically not, I'm sure we can all agree Highschool drama on deh internetz isn't fun, and is rather lame. Whoever nuked the thread with the popos is low, but it happened and it's past. Chillz and try to read people's posts more carefully so you don't miss jokes and sarcasm.

My Lavellan lets Josie and Leliana do the posturing for her.  She's a terrible liar.

Weird.  Did you tank his approval with the mage/templar decision or the Wardens decision?  I had high approval from him for those choices, so I could take approval hits here and there.

 

Though IMO the huge approval hits you get from the mage/templar decisions are a pain in the ass because they come so early in the game.  You've just met these people, but it's very possible to get no content from them for a long time because you did literally ONE thing they didn't like.  I ran into that problem with Cass in my first game (conscripting the templars, didn't get her personal quest until just before the Temple of Mythal) and Vivienne in my current game (allying with the rebel mages).
