Ok..I've been reading up and with every tweet I was all like, "Stay calm." I mean, everything was great. Until...

The thing is though is that Iron Bull was going to be gated as well, I doubt Bioware were going to gate both Cullen and Iron Bull as female Inquisitors are kinda getting screwed over that way. My money is on Sera or Cullen though, as well as Vivienne who is practically confirmed.

With 3 being race gated someone was always kind of getting screwed in comparison to someone else, though. That's likely part of why they made it a priority to get rid of those gates. They said before, though, that making sure distribution of races was even was a low priority in comparison to gender/sexuality.

^ I guess you could message Allan asking for it to be re-opened if you wanted to, explaining your reasoning for this request which would be that those tweets of David's and tweets of Gareth DL's provided more fuel for discussion, which is probably bubbling up to off-topic levels in some character threads.

Oh god, I agree. It would have turned ugly super fast today. People are more civilized in the character threads.

I don't think the normal dwarven relationship to the Fade would be enough to preclude romance with Solas.   Anyone can get into the Fade if assisted by a mage and Solas has a particularly strong connection.   Besides the green glowy hand would suggest at least some sort of nominal connection with the Fade even for those races like dwarves and qunari who are not naturally drawn to it.

 

Congratulations and thanks to all those who tweeted - I'm not comfortable with tweeting myself but really grateful for your efforts because you seem to have got such

interesting and informative answers.   I really can't wait to meet Solas.

Cassandra - All male races = Straight Male +1

 

Josephine - Both genders and all races = Straight Male +2 and Gay Female +1

 

Vivienne - Both genders but only humans and maybe elves = Straight Male +3 and Gay Female +2

 

Sera - All female races = Gay Female +3

 

Cullen - Only females and only humans as well as maybe elves = Straight Female +1

 

Iron Bull - Both genders and all races = Straight Female +2 and Gay Male +1

 

Solas - Both genders and all races = Straight Female +3 and Gay Male +2

 

Dorian - All male races = Gay Male +3

 

This seems all a bit too perfect yet also probable, all the characters who aren't important leaders in human society are therefore not race-gated.

Lol wow, that got hella misunderstood. That was me and actually I asked David if Iron Bull had been one of the 2 race-gated LIs (and thus there was only one now), or if he had been a third (and thus there were still 2 LIs who are race-gated). He confirmed that Iron Bull had been one of 3 and now there were still 2.

 

He said nothing about whether they were among the announced or the un-announced LIs, and I never claimed that he said that. Someone must have misunderstood my initial post and assumed that "there are still 2 race-gated LIs" meant "there are still 2 race-gated LIs that haven't been announced as LIs". 

 

Hmm. The bolded is likely what happened with me then. I can barely keep up with that thread on a good day; let alone with multiple conversations going on. Thanks for clearing things up.

This is the assortment I'm guessing right now, Solas and Viv as remaining bi options with Viv and Cullen being gated. I'm less sure about Cullen, but I think this will probably be the LIs we'll get.

If Dorian and Solas are m/m options it will be the first time ever that I'm really excited about TWO different LI options. I've only ever romanced one person in all plays of a game. This would be an awesome first for me.

I'm yet to know anything core about Solas, I know he's knowledgeable about the fade but that's pretty much it. Unfortunately he's an apostate so II'll likely not romance him, I'm currently set on Iron-Bull but that may change like I have done almost every-time in the past lol.

I'm leaning towards Josephine only because of her role in Game of Thrones and her appearance. Yes, appearance is weak when it comes to using it in an argument, but I look back to Gwendoline Christie and who we've debated she is voicing. After seeing the concept art released for Empress Celene in DA:I, I also am leaning towards her voicing the Empress.

 

About Solas being a LI: (Since that has been the talk of the town)
I'm still holding my breath on that. It isn't so until it gets the devs stamp of approval. So a huge 'oh my glob' will be saved for later. Buuuuttttt, I won't lie in saying I'm a bit hopeful. I'm glad a lot of you participated in this Q&A session, so much revealed and I nearly slept through the whole ordeal!

Whew... finally caught up!

 

I really want to hold back my excitement right now but at the same time I want to jump around in excitement!
