I've avoided saying anything about some of the ongoing discussions about drama as I'm an outsider to the issue (wasn't present when it began, not involved), but I have a request, would it be possible for us to drop the subject for now, please and thank you? :)

Avoiding the issue isn't going to solve it. It'll just simmer and explode again and then everyone's going to be like "Oh no! Drama! Wherever did this come from?!"

ignoring the issue is going to be really hard. It's been coming and going at least since the time i came on, which was during christmas time. Heck, we even have a chart to describe how often we argue every time smut is shared. The argument of what is appropriate, and the unusual moderator watching has made people extremely tense.

Ancient Techno Elves? Must have!

I know right? Also Felassan the Best Elf is alive in my Shadowrun AU. So it's basically snotty ancient elves team up with scrappy Shadowrunners (Lavellan, Leliana, Dorian, Varric, Bull, and Cole) to save the world from evil technomancer Corypheus.

It is so glorious.

Yeess. So do I. It will probably be a little while before I get to posting it, as I like to be reasonably done with a fic rather than start something and never finish it. Will definitely keep the thread posted though!

That's smart. I did the latter with a Gundam Wing fanfic, and I got really good feedback from the chapters I uploaded but I just never got around to finishing it. I always feel like I let down the people who took the time to favourite and comment. I've started writing it again, but this time I'll be waiting until it's all done before I upload.

No pressure, but I look forward to it. <3

Thank you :)!  I don't have sliders of my own, but I used these sliders I found on reddit as the base for her face before tweaking it - http://imgur.com/a/b1vWp

Lavellan Greatly Approves!

Spoiler

Pretty Quizzy and pretty Hawke too!

I find it very hard to get off a BW game. Especially this time was difficult. Ended up back with a Hitman for a short affair (I love Hitman to death).

But ME should be a very good way to immerse in a new, exciting universe with great characters, a good story and a new love interest that will make your husband consider divorce. However, it will leave you in the same state, probably.

Once you fell for Garrus your husband can extend that punching game to Garrus and Solas beating each other senselessly. Though since a Turian always has a backup weapon at hand Solas might run into problems... I am very excited to see what your husband can come up with. If you nurture his madness a bit it will be epic.

Ugh, me too. Though I kind of have the same problem with anything I get absorbed in, whether it be an amazing novel or a game. It's like a hangover, and I just can't get excited about anything else until it passes. The longest standing, somewhat enjoyable but still melancholy hangover.

I'm not totally convinced I'll fall for Garrus because he's so alien looking, BUT it is more about the characterization than the physical stuff in these games, so there's probably a good chance I will. I'm a sap. And oh man Siha, stop giving me amazing mini-game ideas. I could art it, and my husband could program it. If anything ever comes of this, I will most certainly share it here first.

So by nurturing his madness you mean amping up my Solas-is-sooo-dreamy gushiness until he snaps? In a really programmer-ish way, and fiendishly programs a bunch-Solas-in-the-face mini-game in one night? Can do!

hey everyone i liek solas alot..??

I would like this but I'm out of likes. CURSE THE LIKE LIMIT.

Spoiler

Yup. Sooo guilty of this.

I will take this opportunity to clarify that I do not have a virginal Solas concept :D he's not Edward Cullen

Just clarifying that I wasn't suggesting you thought this, Solas. :) Only what you said spring-boarded me onto the topic, which is an interesting one to me.

Also, please excuse my continued abuse of the multi-quote function, you lovely doves.

Edit: Formatting weirdness.

AUGH. Can we talk about how Shadowrun meets DA:I is my favorite thing ever? It may or may not be half the reason I started doing art for the Streetquisition.

I would kill for such a crossover. Not kidding. I have a weakness for cyberpunk stuff, and with my knak for fantasy races....BooOoooOOOM!!! here, Shadowrun, I'm coming! (whaiting for Shadowrun: Hong Kong with a little desperation. I think I'm gonna play some more Dragonfall)

no, no. It's perfect there is no tattoo.

Wanted poster and the head hunters:

Bounty hunter1: "Hey, doesn't that guy look like hawke"

Bounty hunter2: "You dumbas$, he's got no tattoo!"

Bounty hunter1:"Oh, sorry for stopping your caravan, sir"

Hawke: "I want to be a dragon"

And how are we going to solve it? There is absolutely no way we can find out who did the reportings, even if it was one person or several. Unless that people decide to speak out, which seems most unlikely, there is just no way to know, at least that I know of. And even if we know it, what? People attack this person for a few pages and does that change anything? It still doesn't stop any other person to come here and report again, there are hundreds of users. I'm not trying to be aggressive here, but unless we go back to politely discussing different opinions and points of view, and are willing to at least consider and argue in a respectful manner with those who don't like certain themes, I honestly don't see what else can be done.

Regarding pantheon headcanon, the glitterotica got me thinking about how they must be really alien beings. Immortal beings that lived for thousands of years at a very slow pace must have ended being quite strange and otherworldly. For instance, I imagine one of them wanting a new piece of jewelry and having slaves spend centuries in crafting it.

I'm way more annoyed by Hawke not having appropriate Hawke hair than I am by anything anyone has ever said in this thread.

I'm pretty sure she had her proper hair in one of the trailers.  Illyria Greatly Disaproves.

Note that if it is a troll doing the reporting in order to stir drama, the thread talking about it and getting up in arms about it is exactly what they want and exactly why they do it. The more you talk about it the more they'll do it. These people do these sorts of things for a reaction.

What would help, would be clearly defined parameters about what is and is not cool to post.

Right now, those decisions seem very arbitrary. Knowing these things would go a long way to solving the problem. We don't. It's not clear. That is a problem.

People are not going to post around what your acceptable levels of conversation are.

Nor mine.

People will post what they want. If you choose to be offended by it, you can certainly speak up, but you can not expect them to care, or change, for you. But that's basically true everywhere in the whole world.

I don't like redheads. They are basically evil.  But I don't expect all the redheads to vacate the thread just because they are creepy and make me uncomfortable.

This post is brought to you by the word basically.

Excuse you. My copper hair and I are most certainly not creepy.

And Solas is probably a redhead too. I take offense on his behalf. Strong, strong offense!

Draw your weapon, ser!

I'm still sorry for it. ^_^

Andruil fascinates me, and even though my Ilaria always wears Mythal's vallaslin (for no other reason than that I like them, I haven't thought why she has them yet), it'd probably be more appropriate if she had Andruil's, since I draw a lot of similarities between her and my girl. Although with less crazy.

And I don't know why, but I always picture Falon'Din and Dirthamen as spirit and elf respectively, drawing on the relationship that went above and beyond that of romantic or otherwise. Or perhaps even they were one being, with the spirit sharing the elf's mind, in a way.

Mythal vallaslin fits for anybody, really. You're a protector for your clan :D (Sorry, I'm a bit biased b/c that's my fave vallaslin too)

I was expecting Andruil to be a Diana/Artemis figure, but then we got all these crazy stories about how she hunted down slaves/was potentially the one who brought the blight and all that jazz. I admit, I like the "twisted mythos" that Thedas has going for it. Like how Andraste is pretty much female Jesus. Haven't seen that one before! :)

The spirit and elf thing is interesting. I'm not sure if I agree with it, but it would definitely be fun if they showed up in-game. The whole "relationship that has no context in the modern world" between those two makes me wonder how the society of Elvhenan viewed marriage as a social construct. Would they bond for eternity? Would they consider any binding temporary? Would they embrace the concept of polygamy or polyamory? I need a book set in the time of Arlathan now. Weekes, make it happen!

We solve it the way all civilized people solve problems. A duel at sunrise. Obviously.

I doubt it's a troll, it seems specifically targeted.
