If you were a god king among immortals, how humble would you be? How sincere and polite would you act in a nest of vipers that plot and plan and have the adoration and fear of their followers? The Game in Orlais? Petty and not nearly as high stakes or deadly as the elven pantheon. These are the beings who demand sacrifice, who hunt their own people for sport, who can and possibly did everything in their power to remain in control or spread their influence.
Sylaise's song? Entirely praise about how awesome she is and how much more powerful she is compared to the rest of the pantheon. Andruil created a weapon of mass destruction. Falon'Din has his creepy title meaning (roughly) that "all paths lead to death."
These are not the benevolent and good-natured gods that the Dalish commonly tell stories about. These are nuanced people who have all the power in the world, and all the time to make use of it.
Alien SHOULD be a word used to describe them. They are/were opulent and excessive. Flemythal is wasted in stature and power, yet she still dresses in such an unusual manner compared to modern styles. That's just a taste of what Arlathan/the elvhen empire could have been like back in the glory days.
Exactly. Which makes think about Solas in Halamshiral. There were all these people thinking they're oh so deadly and their social interactions so intricate, Solas must have seen them as toddlers slapping each other.
Re: the NSFW, reporting, etc. Guys, really I don't know what else to say. Try to follow the forum general rules regarding that and just cross your fingers that Fen'Harel chases the trolls away.
yeah what is the deal with his hate boner for wardens
I don't think anyone answered this, so I'll take a stab.
I always took it as a sort of freaking out.
He doesn't start to hate on the Wardens seriously until after the reveal of their plot to take out the Old Gods before they can be corrupted. His last line in dialogue post-Adamant is "Forgive me, but the whole idea is... unnerving." (or something like that.) He's got to be thinking, "What if some self-righteous, misguided, ill-informed do-gooders came along and did that to ME while I was sleeping? And I couldn't do anything to stop it? ****!" He's completely terrified at the idea. He wants to see them punished for their hubris. Until I finished the game, I had always found his reaction here odd. No one else complains about that aspect of the Warden plan, afterall. Most characters don't like the blood magic and demon summoning/binding. But the basic premise of going on the offense to take down Old Gods before another Blight can get started? Solas is the only one that I remember having a problem with that. And now I understand why!

we keep using trolls when someone disagrees, what if it wasn't a troll but someone regular on the thread?
every thread breaks those rules, we talk about anything off-topic and that's breaking the rules.
I doubt it's a troll, it seems specifically targeted.
Looking at what pictures were reported (I think you posted them a few pages back) I can't see why anyone would have reported them considering some of the nsfw stuff I've seen on here. Personally I've no problem with nsfw in spoilers (yeah and I even look at them!) Also for the record (because I get paranoid about these things) in case anyone's thinking I did the reporting - I didn't, and I think considering the content that was reported its likely that it is not someone who's been around here much as in context of the thread it was tame.
However, I am personally glad that the thread has been more on topic for the last few days, whether intentional or not it all seemed to be getting a bit cliquey and far too off topic for a while there which was a shame.
Solas or Elves??? It would have to be elves... but that's not going to be a choice she has to make right???
I don't particularly think Mythal is an old flame but i don't care if she is

You're funny today, Avejajed. Are you sure you haven't been drinking already? xD
Take another heart anyway. ![]()
It doesn't matter where you are, someone is always not going to like something you say. And they're going to say it. Tis the internet.
We used to do a good job in this thread of listening to others' complaints (which weren't nearly as angry or harsh as they are now) and adjusting behavior accordingly or talking it out. Now we start snarky and defensive fights over it. It's entertaining, at least, but not that great.
I know what the internet is like. I am not the one getting offended.
Apparently, people didn't like 20 mystical (AKA nonexistent) pages talking about two other elves. Yet, did I ever get a PM, or something to the effect of "Stop luxuriating in Falon's Din. 'Tis making me feel bad." NOPE.
I really don't get offended on the internet. It is the repercussions that are annoying. It is annoying, not offensive.
.
The reporting seems to happen at night, correct? It seems that it happens while I'm sleeping because I never actually see it happening. I dunno what to think. It seems to be someone who just comes in here when these things are posted, not someone who is actually here all the time and paying attention. *shrugs* Just my take on it.

I'm not sure what timezone this server is in anymore. xD Y'all up weird hours.

You will never get a PM like that. People don't like confrontation. This whole business doesn't surprise me in the least if someone is disgruntled over the content of the thread. Of course they're going to silently try to deal with it instead of speaking their mind. It's not as if it would go over well to do that here, especially if their reasons are petty.
I think people are starting to take personal offense to the mystery reporter's actions, to which I say that's a pointless venture. Disgruntled forumers are going to disgruntled forum. We'll never know who it was and we'll never get a guarantee that they'll stop. It's best to just not worry about it as much as possible.
Alright folk, I'll be bowing out of the thread for this evening then, hopefully when I come back there's a more positive atmosphere
Take care

I was just generalising, to avoid repeating troll/lurker/regular poster. And it doesn't matter who it was, it's the same deal: we don't know. The same goes to why not other threads: we can't get into the mods' minds and some people said that they never answer when questioned about warnings. So it seems all we can do is carry on as usual and hope it doesn't happen again. If it becomes worse and one person's posts are being targeted, that person may try to get the problem to the mods, but I doubt he/she'll get a response even then.
Here's some disney Solas for you!
*runs away before she gets in trouble**
This seems like an appropriate place to share this:

Mmm, delicious context:
Makes we wonder if race-gated Solas would have expressed interest in other Inqis if only ever ignored his expectations and flirted with him.
And why couldn't we? Why couldn't my Inqi who OWED SOLAS their LIFE during the prologue promise to protect him just because he was a dwarf? (And also a man?)
[...]
I felt like some of those so-called 'flirts' made for better lines than the others, like telling Cass she can do anything she wants to, or complimenting Dorian instead of just brushing him off or insulting him.
...but then, I've always seem the 'flirts' as two-way street. The heart doesn't always mean you flirting with them, it's a 'warning' icon that means you're opening a path into romance territory. I see it as a way of them warming up to you, because you're so damn charming/supportive/cute.
Ha! Well we can't go confusing the poor man.
What if he develops feelings for your dashing and supportive dwarfquisitor?
Wow, now I kinda want to see a romance between Solas and a male dwarf.
Mmm yes, now so do I. Or at least a subverted version. >>"
*Reaches for sketching mats*
@Liz and Felya: My fellow shadowrunners. I have found you
Seriously it's an amazing setting for crossover. There's magic and fantasy races that map nicely to the Dragon Age stuff, but then there's all this freaky dystopic cyberpunk stuff to keep it interesting. Rigger Varric with a custom rifle named Bianca gives me life.
put in a Solas Shaman and I'm at home ![]()
...I've just now remembered that Solas's phrase in the advertising was a tribute to Blade Runner.
and one of the motives I was very curious about his character way before he was announced as a romance.
I was expecting Andruil to be a Diana/Artemis figure, but then we got all these crazy stories about how she hunted down slaves/was potentially the one who brought the blight and all that jazz. I admit, I like the "twisted mythos" that Thedas has going for it. Like how Andraste is pretty much female Jesus. Haven't seen that one before!
Actually I'm about to go all Giton on you and point out that Diana/Artemis was a huntress... She was the one who turned some dude (Acteon?) into a deer and then set her hounds on him and had him torn to pieces because he saw her bathing naked, so....
Wait, you're still discussing that?
I bet we've been going on about how many pages we spent going on about hating Solas much longer now than we've ever had any Solas hate going on at all.
I'm trying to help but it seems I'm actually making it worse, so I'll drop it now.
Maybe just drinking in life .You're funny today, Avejajed. Are you sure you haven't been drinking already? xD

I just realized that I haven't touched DAI in like 3 months.
When were all your last playthroughs? Anyone playing through right now? Are you romancing the one true LI?
I don't like redheads. They are basically evil. But I don't expect all the redheads to vacate the thread just because they are creepy and make me uncomfortable.
Can't you tell me in private? Do you need to break up in public and embarrass me in front of all of my friends? You are so cold hearted. I never loved you in the first place!
