I hate to tell you this... But he's the meat in my BunquizxSolasxCullen sandwich.
Hush, don't ruin my point with your damn logic, girl. I tried to be witty here and now you make me look like an idiot. You guys play this all wrong. *sigh*

I just visited Dragon Age Keep, the new version - it's got icons for each major quest, companions, romances and everything. Naturally, first thing I did was checking Solas romance's icon.
... but guess what? The choice "Inquisitor kept/removed her tattoos" wasn't there! GRRRRRR! Grr. No, seriously, it's just one more icon! I wish they added it. ![]()

Wait, you mean that that choice wasn't there at all?!
I couldn't check my Tapestry on the Keep since most of the icons are hidden, much to my annoyance.
Heeeeeeeey Solas thread.
Do you guys have any good music recommendations for a Solas video? I made a few before, and I'd like to make some more now that I'm almost done with playthrough (and have been recording every cutscene). I remember when we used to post sad romance songs shortly after the game's release lol
My Solavellan theme would have to be Into the Past by Nero. The whole atmosphere of the song fits with my interpretation of the relationship. Of course it might be because I heard this song shortly after the breakup scene and my brain made too many connections. After having listened to it a hundred times for the atmosphere, I started to notice the lyrics, which seem to apply as well.

Its not that important a choice going forward though as comments have already been made by companions in DAI, If we play the inquisitor in another game we'll have to rebuild them anyway. ![]()

I'm hoping they're adding more DAI tiles (since there's also apparently none of 'did clan Lavellan becomes leaders of Wycome?')
It seems really bizarre that the biggest Solavellan choice isn't in the Keep.

Unless maybe that choice is really not important at all? o__O
It isn't important. It does not change the world state at all. And the Keep only includes world state decisions.
Yeah, you'd think something as important as the vallaslin scene would have had a tile at the Keep. Unless maybe that choice is really not important at all? o__O
It does seem strange and makes the hardest choice in the romance seem a little worthless.
Not related to what you said: I hope you don't stop posting art here. You always find the best Solavellan stuff.
Hmm, I don't think the Vallaslin keep/removal decision was an important one in terms of potentially game-altering consequences.
An important decision for many Lavellan's personally, for sure, but it wouldn't affect more than their personal beliefs/behavior, which are going to be different/feel different for every player anyway.
Besides, no matter which option you pick, Solas still accepts it--he doesn't get mad if you don't remove them, he respects it as your choice. It wasn't even what he originally wanted to discus, just a placeholder/excuse after he chickened out - _ - sigh.
There isn't even the "did solas kill the mages?". I guess it's not important after all. I was wondering if it was going to be something like Leliana's hardening. But Leliana is not a powerful ancient being, after all, so it makes sense.
Maybe is more like Garrus's personal quest in ME2. Doesn't matter if Sidonis die or not. Garrus have came to term with this part of his life.

Hmm, I see your point. Though now it's making me wonder how minor decisions that were included in previous games like the Cammen and Gheyna thing or whether you fed the prisoner/deserter in Ostagar back in DAO, which seem unimportant but were included in the Keep anyway, were supposed to change the world state. xD

Oh, don't you worry, I still intend to post art here. Just... don't expect to see delicious, sexy, naughty art... maybe. *shakesfist at the heavens*

My assumption is that in DAO they still kept more options to follow up on in case they decided to do so. However, in DA2 most small decisions were ignored already. Probably they knew by DA2 better where they wanted to go with the overall story and that they would not need to many variables at all. Got it all more fleshed out, so to say. Probably they meant to include the prisoner or the Dalish couple later on (or still do... I also expect the werewolves to show up again) but just didn't (yet).
I think the minor choices of DAO are in the Keep because of the feedback during beta, even if a quest is never mentioned again it's nice to have it acknowledged in someway. They'll probably add DAI's smaller side decisions eventually.
Although I'm pretty sure the fate of the DAO:A companions is more important to most people than if Orta house became nobles again or not.

Perhaps because in a way, those mages were dead already... It's not like if we don't kill them we have an option to take them away with us, they're a vulnerable group in a dangerous area. They're dead....
Not justifying Solas's behaviour here, it makes me uncomfortable, simply stating a fact.

What I really wanted was an option to judge those mages. For the Inquisitor - the Herald of Andraste - to publically judge someone for torturing and killing a spirit would be a huge thing to do. It would be putting spirits on the same level as those from the physical world and proving that the Inquisition really is for all.
I'm very happy that Solas is one the easiest to talk down from his murder rage. You just a 'slight disapproval' and he doesn't confront you about it. Unlike, say, Sera.
Hi everyone (: I've been lurking here a while. I wanted to ask a question. I'm romancing Solas for the first time on this play through, and my understanding was that his card didn't change to the romanced version until after the credits at the end of the game. But his card just changed to the romance version after he broke up with me. Is this a new thing or has that always been the case and I just misunderstood?
Also I find it incredibly ironic that his card changes to the romanced version after he DUMPS YOU. Like, really? NOW he's fully locked in to the romance even though we're not together?

Hi! ![]()
Yes, you get Solas' romance card AFTER he breaks up with you. And yes, the romance even locks in after that. Sad, but true. ![]()
No, it changed for me after the break up as well. XD I'm guessing because after that, you can no longer call off the romance, or romance anyone else? So his romance is finalized, basically. And tragically. XP
EDIT: Ninja'd. Whooops! xD

It's normal. You get his romance one after the romance locks in (which is the dumping scene). If you didn't romance him his card changes post-game.

Yes, probably! Even if Dragon Age handles choices a little differently from Mass Effect, I think they have a bigger impact on the personality of the characters. While in ME2 if you don't do their personal mission they might die, in Dragon Age they develop according to your choices. It's not like that everytime though, that was why I was curious to see how it would affect Solas
But the most important thing is the fate of his friend, anyway.

Those mages are useless
Yeah, I let him do it the first time, then I stopped him in other playthrougs, but I guess no one will adress the choice in game.
