Yes, you get Solas' romance card AFTER he breaks up with you. And yes, the romance even locks in after that. Sad, but true.

 

I like to think it's because my poor girl is locked to Solas now. ;_; She admitted she loved him (to stop him from leaving, but she did mean it), and for her there's no going back. Solas needs to do something pretty drastically evil for her to be able to accept someone else.

No, it changed for me after the break up as well. XD I'm guessing because after that, you can no longer call off the romance, or romance anyone else? So his romance is finalized, basically. And tragically. XP

It's normal.  You get his romance one after the romance locks in (which is the dumping scene).  If you didn't romance him his card changes post-game.

You know, for all that there aren't a lot of scenes/conversations in his romance, I still really felt it when he broke things off with my character. So heartbreaking for both of them. Ugh.

Yep.  After Solas's break up, I even tried asking Cullen if he wanted to start a relationship (right after he even hinted at being interested in her in the "Are you single?" dialogue), but he was like, "Sorry, I heard you're involved with someone."  Come on, now.  So ridiculous, lol.

Me too! I didn't intend to pursue the romance, just wanted to see if what happened. And I was O.o when I got the "involved with someone" answer. Yes, "involved" as in "just dumped in the middle of nowhere!"

Hahaha, yeah! I was thinking about doing a fall back/rebound romance with Cullen, and he was all, "I heard you were involved with someone" and I was like, um, no? WTH?

 

It's all right though, I guess. Probably better to keep her romanced to Solas because of potential future game stuff. But IDK why the game continues to give you the option to "start a romance with Cullen" even though you're locked in to the romance with Solas now,

What I really wanted was an option to judge those mages.  For the Inquisitor - the Herald of Andraste - to publically judge someone for torturing and killing a spirit would be a huge thing to do.  It would be putting spirits on the same level as those from the physical world and proving that the Inquisition really is for all.

 

I'm very happy that Solas is one the easiest to talk down from his murder rage.  You just a 'slight disapproval' and he doesn't confront you about it.  Unlike, say, Sera.
 

 

Yes. I would have liked that too. I totally understood what they did because they didn't understand the moral implications of what they were doing...

 

Sometimes he is criticised as a fanatic or an extremist, I think we tend to loose sight of the fact that Solas is an eminently reasonable dude.

Have any of you gained access to the gold vault in the hall by the spider web infested library nook? I did once but after two more playthroughs, it has never opened for me again and I was wondering if I'm doing something different or I found something I shouldn't have. xD

Also, I started wondering if the wolves being the only animals corrupted is just another bit of foreshadowing/joke or if it's because they're linked to to the Dread Wolf and therefore more sensitive.

Maybe a little of both?

The vault is opened by a perk.  It's one of Josephine's perks but I forget which one.

The vault in the basement is due to having the Elite Clientele perk from the Connections list.

 

Regarding corrupted animals... in what context? That they randomly attack you? That's mostly a staple of rpgs in general. Animals provide easy fodder to fight in wilderness when it wouldn't make sense for bandits or other hostile people to be in a place. There are plenty of bears, mabari, and spiders that attack you as well. Not just wolves. We're pretty much hit over the head with imagery in lots of other places in the game.

As far as the vallaslin choice not being on the keep, I can understand why. Even if we continue with our Inquisitor into DA:I 2 Electric Wolf Boogaloo, we'll be remaking our character's appearance. I am guessing they will just let us toggle off the vallaslin when you go to remake them. And if its a new protagonist, then obviously the choice won't matter. If we see them again, it'll be like Hawke and we'll also have the chance to remake their face.

Ah, thanks, everyone. That really had me scratching my head for a while.

As for the wolves, it just stands out more in that companions comment on them even before the quest as to how it's odd behavior and the fact that all wolves in the game have green glowy eyes, not just the ones in the Hinterlands. Always made me mad that we can't free them all.

Guess I kind of thought of it in a Mythal sense. She's associated with dragons and even has one with her shrine that her bond can exert control over (aside from shifting into one) so I figured each God might be able to do the same.

Pending new knowledge, I would say there's no legitimate connection between Fen'Harel and wolves. He just chose that as his shapeshifter default form because he identified with them.

 

[Although given that we already have animal charming magic in the game, and wolves do tend to respect 'bigger' wolves, I don't doubt he has some basic command over them if he wanted to.]

Possibly. The sense I got from hearing bioware talk about the Keep was that the importing function has always been troublesome as you go from game to game. Relying on the Keep is probably a lot cleaner and easier to do. But hopefully they'll make an attempt!

That's what I figured too. I'm actually really glad about the Keep. Not just because DAI is the first game in the series I bought for PC but because it allows be to import different choices without having to play through two complete games. I find it very very convenient.

 

I don't think a real import would have made much difference it terms of Hawke's looks. A new graphics engine always means your character will not look the same. Just look at ME3 *shudders*

However, things could be different when importing the inquisitor. I don't need to see her return but if she does, in whatever way, I would appreciate a direct import if the same engine is used. Even if not, the chances of some sort of resemble would be higher than remaking characters from scratch.

 

I'd love to have the Keep for DA4 again so I can create alternative world states easily. But in addition I'd like a real import feature for faces at least.
