Well it's really no different then like a breakfast casserole. It just looks weird before it's cooked.
So I found a capture of what I believe to be Solas' original in-game model, before they changed it last minute:

K but seriously, please explain the pun that I totally missed having made. ;D

The creepy tarot card of Solas walking under the Dread Wolf's shadow is the Tower, yes?
And it's the Tower of Barad-Dur.
Maybe it's a stretch, but it was a silly pun that had me cackling. *shrug* ![]()

I like your mind, sir. I should have just pretended to be privy to the pun for +internetcred, but even if lying in a text-based format, I'm uselessly transparent. Hahah.
I also missed the pun. Damn intellectuals, finding puns everywhere.
Avejajed, you've had top three pages in a row. It's like your timing it in some scheme to end ToP Solas.

"I'm sorry, Cole, but with your gift, I fear you might see the path that I now must walk in solitude forever."
Ever since I heard Solas (presumably) saying that statement through Cole, it's been driving me crazy. If Solas remains in the physical world, there will be people he'll run into eventually. If he's in the Fade, there will be spirits. How is being alone forever even possible?
From the Dragon Age wiki elven language page:
U: alone
Uth: forever, never ending, eternal
Uthenera: Waking sleep; immortal
What if there is a part of the Fade that is cut off from the rest? And traveling to the physical part of the world that reflects it and entering uthenera will trap the dreamer's spirit there? Solas is a powerful dreamer, so if he draws sustenance from the Fade to keep his body alive, and this place somehow keeps his spirit from returning to his body (because no Anchor and no orb maybe?) he could literally end up in solitude forever.
Not sure what the point of that would be, but it seems like multiple gods are trapped in a prison of some kind or another. Even the high dragons housing Old God Souls seem to sleep (and dream?) indefinitely until darkspawn influence.
It's late and possibly none of this is coherent, but I'm hoping Caddius or other folks will be inspired to come up with something that makes more sense. ![]()

In the Void, where the true Black City lies, is my theory. If so, Solas' future could be very grim, worse than death stuff.
Smoochy Solavellan arts below the tag. :3
Edit: Fiddled with brightness and re-posted, as I think my monitor's calibration is off, which caused the original to look way darker than intended. Further testing required. Bleh!

While the Black City Theory/Him putting himself in the Pantheon's place for whatever reason is interesting, I think it's possible that he's not speaking literally. What throws me is the 'now'. Whatever his plan was with the Orb before Inquisition, afterward it doesn't look grim. He's not willing to bring Lavellan or the Inquisition along for the ride. I see the comment as, "Cole, this is a One Riot, One Egghead situation. I don't want you to try to help, because you can't, so Obliviate!" ![]()

I also got the impression he was in the fade. First, I have always thought he could talk to Cole like that only from the fade and secondly, we last saw him at the crossroads after acquiring a certain amount of power. He could have been able to enter the fade physically.
Not sure if this was shared here before but this is beautiful! ![]()

Possibly one of those "in between" places Morrigan mentions?

Where is the sausage? There has to be sausage… I like a bit of sausage, me.
This Sunday morning is bright, warm and lovely, birds are chirping and cats are purring, so yeah, let's talk about the fact Solas might trap himself via Uthenera in the Fade forever, sounds about right. Good idea.

That's what I took from the conversation too. If anyone would try to follow Solas it would be Cole. Unlike the Inquisitor Cole's pretty much free to do whatever he wants, and whether as more of a spirit or more of a human, Cole considers Solas his friend, and he'd want to help him.
Also I think this gif pretty much sums up a lot of our feelings for Solas:
