This picture is all wrong, You didn't depict andril's breast correctly, one breast is larger than the other. June's middle finger is supposed to be longer than the rest of the digits. Fen harel is supposed to have 6 eyes, not 4. And fyi, the ears length are supposed to align between the eyes and the nose!

Discussion point: Muscley Solas or skinny Solas? Apparently he's buffer than older male elves in game, but I dunno.

 

Also; I was reading more of Asunder today and I remember Rhys describing an elf and mentioned something along the lines of their strange eyes, or alien eyes, something like that. Elven eyes look pretty "normal" to me in game, is there supposed to be a difference in the comic/novel/etc. world?

Also; I was reading more of Asunder today and I remember Rhys describing an elf and mentioned something along the lines of their strange eyes, or alien eyes, something like that. Elven eyes look pretty "normal" to me in game, is there supposed to be a difference in the comic/novel/etc. world?

 

Boooooth? He definitely seems muscly for an elf but not too much compared to a human. And he's still pretty skinny but also not as skinny compared to most elves. I always picture him as lean and mean. Maybe without a fully defined six pack unless he secretly does elven crunches when nobody is looking.

 

I still enjoy my headcanon that despite him being big compared to modern elves, he was considered a little shorty back in the ancient elf days. But that was purely based on how big the elves at Mythal's temple seemed! 

 

And yeah, I think at some point they're described with odd glowy eyes. And something about better sight in the dark? I guess at one point elf eyes were more radioactive looking (DA2) and they can be colors that human eyes can't, I think.

Skinny solas. It makes sense. Between research, sleeping, and making a freaking fresco, he couldn't possibly have time to work out intensively.

 

You guys need to understand that frescos are hard because they are time intensive.

Maybe making the fresco involved a lot of heavy lifting? Carrying the weight of the People all day every day around must be heavy. Plus I'm pretty sure my Lavellan tosses all her crap in his backpack. I don't see her carrying one!

And yes, the books always described the elves as having alien eyes with colors of impossible hues. In The Stolen Throne, they glowed like cat eyes. In DA2, elven eyes were bigger like they were described in the books and one of the elves, Jethann, has brilliant blue eyes.

 

I'd say Abelas has rather fascinating eyes as well, to be honest.

When they mention bigger eyes I aways thought the eye-shape, etc themselves, but it seems to be the iris/pupils that are much bigger. I never really noticed before. x)

 

Ah, I always try to recreate that eye colour our Babelas has in CC, but I never manage it. ;_; We should be allowed to zoom in closer during the eye colour segment so we can at least see what colour eyes we're giving them. It's awful for elves for some reason. I normally end up defaulting to grey outer with blue inner just because I know it'll look fine every time. >_<

 

Also can I mention Babelas' eyeliner? Is that intentional?

I feel you. My Inquisitor has green eyes but even when I go to the darker end of the green colors, they always end up looking like some neon lime green in game. It's frustrating!

 

Abelas' eyes look a little orange to me. A light brown-orange. His eyeliner is probably intentional (a lot of characters have eyeliner in DAI) because I think it's supposed to look striking against pale skin. And maybe a little corpse-y if that lip color means anything. Definitely the impression I get.

 

Compared to Abelas, Solas' eyes are really toned down. They have the purpleish hue to them but it's not really stand out. I wonder if that was on purpose.

Do not underestimate the physical activity involved in painting a fresco... All those large brushstrokes = good shoulders...
