Everybody who never expected so much exciting info to come so soon just two days ago, put your hands up.

The combat video and the GDL and the SOLAS. We were all so down in the dumps just 48 hours ago or so! And even when I knew about the GDL q&a, I never expected him to answer so much. I thought he might only give a couple vague DAI-related answers!

 

It's been a good day. I'm not taking anything as confirmation but this is so hopeful! Now to root for our buddy ol' pals in the Varric thread!

Following Solas has been a major rollercoaster. I'm half expecting a dev to come by and say something that pulls the rug out from under us again. I'm definitely happy with how things are looking at the moment, though.

I have a friend who's absolutely delighted that his female characters might get a LI he really likes for the first time ever.

 

I'm hoping for Blackwall but always knew he was a long shot.

I really wish I could stay cool, and not get my hopes up. I've been fighting even thinking that I want Solas as a LI these past few days, convinced that I'm going to jinx it. Plus, I just feel guilty wanting Solas when I have friends who have been on the Varric and Blackwall wagons for so much longer. I want us all to be happy, despite the improbability of that ever happening.

 

But I also want to eeeeee forever at GDL's tweets, and the fact that he's embracing Solas. No matter what happens, everything is in place for Solas to be an amazing character and I am so, so excited about that.

Also, I noticed someone updated the DA wiki and put that he is a "potential romance for the Inquisitor." that's a littttttle preemptive I can't deny that it secretly makes me feel happy to see it LOL

I hope we can get official confirmation about it soon either way

Oh my god, that put the biggest smile on my face.  Preemptive--very. But so amazing.

Iron Bull was hinted at a million times by the devs themselves even. Everyone seemed to be having a hard time keeping the lid on that particular pot. Makes me think his romance path must be good!

I think part of it was how hard John Epler was working to make sure the Bull was ungated.  They all just wanted to gush about his hard work but couldn't.

If I wasn't such a noob on Facebook, I'd try asking on there since that's where Dorian's LI status got revealed  You never know! (Maybe that would at least show marketing that the cat is out of the bag? hopefully)

 

I also hope that people don't bug GDL for "confirmation" or anything, especially since he was so nice and answered a lot of our Solas questions today.

I would recommend not bugging any devs about it. I always feel badly for them. Especially DG, who gets the brunt of it for being the head writer. Marketing might feel the urge to pop something out for Gamescom now, though.

I agree.  There's also the fact that his romance sounds like it would be really... fun?  For lack of a better term?  And so far the 'fun' characters have gotten the most public attention from the devs (The Bull and Sera).  They also took the #ridethebull stuff and ran with it.  Not saying i don't think his romance path won't be great - though I'm frankly more interested in how his involvement with the Qun will affect said romance than his (open) attitude toward sex and such.  Really , this is the first DA game where I'm actually really stoked about our choices - though Solas is my #1 by far (and Cullen #2).

Trying Facebook couldn't hurt. They might at least consider it and the worst that could happen is they wouldn't reply.

 

I agree that we should leave GDL alone on the issue, though. He was really amazing about answering our questions, as is. We don't want to annoy him. I'm sure he's used to super fans with Torchwood, so it probably wouldn't be new for him to have obsessed fans hounding him, but let's not be those fans. lol

Yeah, I also agree with Phate that should leave the devs alone on the issue as well. There's a lot of people who don't browse these threads and will probably still bother them anyways, but like Mort said, "let's not be those fans" xD

 

Is it fair to assume that the Facebook page is probably being run by marketing though? At least that way I wouldn't feel so guilty about asking on there.

Also, I just got back after being away from the computer since the big almost-kinda reveal - and i admit i just read back through this whole thread and the twitter thread to see if any devs have come around to do damage control (in the event Solas isn't an LI) but... nothing... See, I really am trying to hold back my optimism - in that 'you won't be disappointed' might mean you won't be disappointed in the character and 'enjoy' meaning enjoy the character (even without the romance).  But it seems like a bit of a stretch to read it that way - though I'm not ruling it out until the Official Word comes through.

 

So... it look like more waiting, then?  *pulls up a stump to sit on* At least the company's good!  And I'm feeling a lot more optimistic now - was seriously contemplating an extended break from the forums after the other day with it's marketing/romance/mystery™ mess.
