I want someone to make a Solas Thread Encyclopedia Dramatica The feels, unicorns, Solwaifus, pantheon, the creation of stevhen, solas as a coconut, egg, raptor, potato, breakfast burrito.  ALL of it, The dwarven keepers(whatever they're called)  know whats up.

I used to send the "Offended" page of ED to people that were bothering me when I was a teenager. Oh well.

Much hotter than any Solas/Lavellan/Cullen I've seen on Tumblr. Anything involving Cullen can't be really hot anyway.

I was going to remind you about my Solas x Bunquiz x Cullen image but then I remembered that it's more weird (srsly.. animated dick punching and a crying Cullen) than hot.

If there's anything Bunquiz is good at it's sexual harassment and making Cullen cry.

I will make the shameful admission that I have not read all 3446 pages of this thread.  Perhaps someone can help me if this has been discussed already, but does anyone have any theories about the paintings that are at the scene of the vallaslin break-up in Crestwood?

They are in the same style as Solas' rotunda murals - seemingly elven and about elves.  There is a reason why he chose that place - Haven will always be special to her - perhaps this Crestwood place is special to him for some reason?  Any guesses why?  Does anyone think Solas did the paintings?  is anyone willing to share, or has anyone suggested, a theory regarding the meaning of the paintings in that place?

Who is that tall, dark figure with all of the elves kneeling at it's feet, facing away and miserably clutching their heads?

Some have postulated it's actually his history.  Or at least what he did and he brings you there to help show you the truth of what he is...since that was his original intent.

I think it may be that and it was particularly romantic with the waterfall and the giant hart statues. Also the "thin veil".

Does he actually bring her the whole way down to Crestwood or did bioware just recycle environments? Because that's like a 4 day long journey.

Not unless you strike first ;)

Oh I have nothing against her. I'm just saying, people doing this in general. Quit it, lol. It's unnecessary. And too dramatic.

(tries to look for something to respond to so it doesn't look like all I do is talk about angst stuff lately... nothing to say about abelas solas cullen threeways... meh, screw what yall think :P )

The paintings are actually in many areas in Inquisition, you can find them in the the emerald graves, in the exalted plains, in crestwood and in the temple of mythal. I don't think the ones in the crestwood cave were made by Solas, but I believe he choose to take her there for a reason. He was going to tell her the truth, after all. We know that the veil is particularly thin there, and the place was probably some ancient elven ruin... maybe he was going to show her some piece of old history in the fade.

Maybe he was going to take us into some old memory and show us part of the past, I don't know. If that's the case, damn. Why did you have to chicken out, Solas??

Thank you.  That seems highly plausible that perhaps the paintings are his history.  Do you think that tall, dark (and menacing, by my perception) figure is Fen'Harel?

Thank you also!  Just out of curiosity, if you had to guess, what would you guess is the reason he took her there, of all places, to tell her the truth?  Just the thin veil, or do you imagine something more?

It was definitely to tell her the truth. Weekes confirmed that in an interview not too long ago. At the last minute he got cold feet and told her about the vallaslin instead.

help I can't read.

Probably thin veil, and some connection to Fen'Harel. There is a statue of him out front.

I like to think he repeated the events of the Fade date - roofied her and then put her in a carriage.   Lavellan was SoL on the way back though.

Possibly - I have issues assigning TOOOOO much meaning to those things since assests are reused in game so much and whenever the fanbase has jumped all over them the devs have been like 'whoopsie mistake by the art department'.   Solas' place likely had signficance since Cullen's date-spot had personal meaning for him.  However, Solas' romance was put in the game AFTER everything was done so the devs might have just picked something that looked...elfy.

I'm personally shocked we aren't drowning in Fen'Harel/Felassan smut. Maybe people are still catching up with Felassan. Or people aren't entirely sure if Solas is Felassan.

I mean, the dude spends the entire book not shutting up about how awesome Fen'Harel is.

You're assuming that I could read. I can't read more than fanfiction length.

Lavellan can have Abelas MWF and Solas on T/Thursday. Saturday and Sunday are girly days where she hangs out and does girl stuff without silly boys to ruin her fun. Dream life.

I'm just going to set myself up in my giant gold pile vault like a High Dragon with her harem of Elvhen drakes.

The place might have been connected to Fen'Harel, or something happened there that could still be seen from the fade and would help him show her he was telling the truth, instead of a stupid joke :P

Playing a Qunari right now and every time he opens his mouth I'm like. "I am immune to your charms!" I mean....I will be....as long as I tell myself that. (hasn't gotten to fade scene, yet. Whelp.)
