Started my second play through, finally, in an attempt to be more complete. I told myself I would romance someone different, but all the other options are so meh. I just like dirty hipster hobos, I guess.

I agree fully with the Colonel: Solas would practice the school of Alteration. Oh yes!
So speaking of Solas, I have been spending time playing with my Samhal Lavellan (seen in <---- avatar with his boo Cass, photobombing), and I am trying to set up Solas as more of a damager for a change. I didn't really notice, but I have been building Solas exactly the same, every-single-playthrough! Not that that is bad, necessarily, but I usually try different builds out, and generally have a good way to roleplay the reasons for such builds. It was just so easy to set him up as a CC/Support type.
Curiously, how do most of you choose to build Solas (for combat)? Do you vary it? Do prefer certain types of spells on him over others? If so, what are they and why?
I usually give Solas full Rift magic and have most of the Spirit tree filled, with the extra points I get thrown in to a bit of ice or lightning magic. As for spells, PoTA and Firestorm are what I make him use often, while barrier and dispel are a must-have for me. Haven't really tried giving him fire magic much (I give fire magic to Dorian) so maybe I'll try that out next time.

That's a sketch? *looks at her own sketches* *looks at the monitor* *cries*
Beautiful art! I love it!
Thanks! Although, to be fair, I guess what I mean is "pencil drawing" not "sketch." I did spend at least half a dozen hours on it, usually with some wonderful g-chat to keep me company. I should really try out something other than the pencil tool next time, but I'm not really sure where to start.

Be a male elf. They have androgynous bodies, close enough. Just pretend it's a female elf that smokes alot.
Pretend you're this beautiful Jackie Kennedy woman:

DOCTOR GIRLFRIEND.
Real talk though, I don't play men in a game where I have a choice. It's just a... thing, I guess? Like I feel that in so many other games I have no choice but to play as a dude, so it's such a relief to be an ass kicking lady- especially one that isn't overly sexualized.

Ok, but you're self barricading yourself from good romances. If you really have to and you have a pc, there is already a bi cassandra and a bi dorian mod. The only drawback is that there is no dialogue but subtitles during the scenes.

A "like" to @laurlin for both the Solas build post and the thoughts on the Veilfire readings, from the Arbor Wilds.
And a "like" to @Capricorn for answering the Solas build question(s) as well.

Nah, I'm aware. But as long as the gender doesn't actually change the main plot, I'm probably just going to be weird and stick to playing women. A bi Dorian mod just seems really wrong though. :/

Uniqua will never know the dignity Stevhen loss to raise she and her little brother when they were younger. Middle aged women shoving singles in his banana hammock, shouting at him to "kiss" them under the tables.
There were times when the children didn't remember seeing their father eat at all. When they ask, he cracks a smile to ensure them, "I already ate at work, finish your kraft dinner".
This made me laugh than it should have

She said there is a certain attraction in playing a character who does not act in accordance with common rules and guidelines considered moral in our civilized western society; which guidelines have been mainly influenced by monotheistic religions, namely Christianity, as they are prevalent in many parts of the world and, hence, leading to these rules being incorporated not only in common civil law but also as a basis for many nonpublic communities and interpersonal relationships, including but not limited to friendships and romances.
On topic: Solas would slightly approve.

Did you use your credit card again? Or paper money? You know they can find you by tracking the silver lining in banknotes.
On topic: Solas is also hiding from the government, in a way. That is why he never uses either, credit cards or bills.
