I haven't heard anything at all about a 'married option', actually. And Solas, seeing as he lives in a forest and moves between various ancient ruins, strikes me as one of the least-likely companions to be married.Sounds like people just making conversation, plucking an idea and running with it. Sometimes these ideas can spiral into lives of their own, though.
Where's this being talked about? The Josephine thread? I think that was just a random thought--she's from Antiva and the eldest daughter, she must be married!--that quickly got out of hand.

Except 'love interest' isn't a term exclusive to video games. It's a concept used in all kinds of fiction (movies, novels, etc.). He would know what that means. And like it has been said, he would know if he recorded lines directed at the player that were meant to be romantic.

That's true, but those lines would be so minimal that I'd venture to say a voice actor might even forget about them. If they were romancing another companion, that is. And with Solas's character type, I can't quite see it. It's possible he'll get with another companion and I might even find it enjoyable, if I'm not romancing him, but he seems one of the least likely to do so.
Honestly, trying to construe those answers as something else seems to involve more reaching than actually taking them as confirmation That's not to say that we couldn't be completely wrong and get our hearts crushed, but GDL didn't seem to be confused about the question in the least bit. I'm holding onto a healthy amount of doubt but at this point it's getting harder and harder.
I'm getting more and more interested in Solas lately but I wish we had more footage of him, especially talking.

It was briefly said on Twitter, like 2 tweets, but of course I'm like, "WAIT A MINNIT." Any piece of news/discussion concerning Solas has my attention and heart strings. It was the same with Cullen before his confirmation. I just don't remember them saying this, but that doesn't mean they didn't. There's been so much released in little bits that I've forgotten some bits. If one of our companions is married, that's... Interesting. But, just don't let it be Solas! D: Maker have mercy.
I can't recall any tweets from Devs/Writers about they're being a "married option", and I went through the entire tweet tag on a Dragon Age tumblr and found nothing about it there. I think there's nothing to worry about.

I'm uninterested in Cullen but hopefully that'll change when I actually play the game. Aside from my first pick, I haven't decided on an order, so who knows, maybe Solas will be my 2nd choice. I'm drowning in options though

My first choice was Dorian, but I was always interested in Solas (and I think Solas is a better fit with this character). During the dark days since Dorian's interview came out, I convinced myself that I could romance Cullen with my canon. But now there's a glimmer of hope? Nope. It's Solas or nothing for her, I think.
Actually, what I may do if Solas isn't an LI is take another PC through first, like my rogue Adaar who only really cares about getting paid and getting laid (by Sera). That way I can scope out the other LIs without wasting my canon Inq on a character I end up disliking.

And Greg answered back positively, not understanding that by 'companionship' the person meant a party follower companion and so he accidentally triggered all kinds of confusion. When it turned out Cullen wasn't a follower, there were lots of disappointed people.
This is that situation 2.0. Solas could very well be a LI, but until we get the information straight from a Dev's mouth (and/or twitter), it's probably safer to just quietly add it to the evidence pile and carry on believing nothing is confirmed.

I can't remember exactly what I asked, I think something like "Will we have romance/companionship with Him?" I don't think I named Cullen specifically because Greg asked if we had any questions about Cullen. He replied "Yes" and yeah, it set the thread and twitter on fire! So, that's exactly why I'm kind of reserving a tiny bit of doubt. It's almost non-existent, but it's there somewhere. 
Knowing Solas is a companion though, I'm ridiculously optimistic about this now. Actually, it's a shock, because it really looked like Solas was a no-go for a while as a LI, which really wrenched muh feelz. I like these feels better.
Very odd. I looked in here 12 hours ago and everyone was happy. I understand the probability that Solas might be an LI has increased significantly, and I haven't seen anything to indicate a reversal. What happened?
Anyway, while a Solas romance would be a *really* nice bonus - it *may* mean (with the caveat that we don't know Solas well enough before we've played tge game) that for the first time in a Bioware game, one of my female protagonists gets one of my favorite characters as an LI - it's a bonus nonetheless, which means it is nonessential for my apprecation of Solas as a character. That lies more in who and what he is - fade explorer with knowledge of strange things, dry and somewhat stoic, introvert etc... - rather than who he might love.
Oh I've just realized I might get to do an elven romance again after all 
I mean, I could romance Sera with an elf, but she hates being in the woods so she doesn't seem like a good match for my Dalish Inquisitors.
I'm feeling very positive about this. GDL surely understood the question and his answer 'I don't know what I can say...but enjoy' reads to me as him saying 'I don't think I can talk directly about this...but yes he is' It is a massive deliberate hint without actually saying it.
He might not be a gamer but he is a professional actor and as such he would surely have chosen to learn at least a little bit about the game series, and you don't have to dig very deep to learn about the Romances. He also knows Eve Myles who played a LI and didn't she know that he was involved in DAI? suggesting that they may have discussed it?
If Solas is not a LI, the only conclusion that could be taken from those tweets would be deliberate wind up, which would seem an unlikely thing to do to your fans.

I am glad when i know another star from TORCHWOOD come to Dragon Age world (before Gareth is Eve who voice Merrill).
Gareth/Ianto is my favorite from TROCHWOOD and that make me excite to talk with Solas more and more.
And sicne his character in TORCHWOOD have both boyfriend and girlfriend. Maybe i can hope that will happen to Solas too Right.

Come with me, and you'll be, in a land of cautious expectations. 
Unlike Anders who I did want to romance during Awakening, so was really pleased he became one (before I discovered he had changed), I have never had unrequited love for Cullen. I flirted with him in DAO simply because my girl was a bit flirty but it didn't mean anything. So really if there is no Solas for my girl elf then Cullen is basically going to be a second best option if at all. Since she will also be a mage, I imagine there will be differences of opinion between them and he is the one who is going to have to work at it to make it happen. If the PC has to be the instigator and prime motivator of the relationship then I think it is likely she may end up with no one. However, I am keeping optimistic about the prospects of Solas. If nothing else it can be a platonic romance, mostly in my head.
I'm just thoroughly pleased that we have a character like Solas at all. He seems really different from those we have encountered before. GDL says he is passionate about his beliefs but doesn't feel the need to constantly show how tough he is. He is able to engage in intelligent respectful debate with other people. He is going to know so much about the Fade that is new to us and probably about certain historical events as well. I am going to have so much to talk about with him. I hope they keep the romance conversations entirely separate, like in DAO, because if he is a romance, I'd hate it if I had to miss an option for discussion about something through having to take the romance flag, particularly if it was just to make some crass flirt line when he was talking about something serious.
I've been see sawing backwards and forwards about which PC character to take through first. I've no swung back to wanting to use my female elf regardless of whether we get Solas as LI or not. Except for DA2 where I had no choice in the matter, I always play elves if I can. I was looking over my character spec that I have developed for my girl and I really like it. I've made the adjustments necessary for having to be Dalish but the history I wrote for her will still work. All I need now is an idea of what the mage specialisations will involve and in fact generally what spells are going to be available to the class.

I know some people must be desperate about their chances with their chosen love interest and will try to grasp on to any straw or twist in words to benefit their dream, but... don't they think that's maybe more than a little insulting to the VA? If you're talking about anything flirty, romantic, or bedroom olympics related while in the sound booth, you're damn well going to know if you recorded romance scenes.
Geez, people. Let it be what it will be. Don't try to tear down others to make yourself feel better about what might or might not happen.
