I love the banters between Bull/Solas and Sera/Solas. Both start off as "I don't like your way of life, you're wrong, you suck", but they warm up to each other (if you let bull choose the charges, at least) eventually. I love the way Iron Bull and Solas become great friends.

 

Many believe Solas and Sera hate each other, but I think their interactions are pretty cute. Sera actually shuts up when she understands how Solas is feeling about the temple of mythal. This is the most respectful thing she can possibily do, in my opinion. Also, they are hilarious.

Before I forget more details, I wanted to blurt out that I had a Solas dream last night. Due to the fact my dream remembrance has been atrocious lately, it's fuzzy. However, I distinctly recall Solas obviously, and Lavellan, and the fact he was intending to do something that would lock himself away (details evade me, to my sorrow). It was locking away in slumber form, but also in legitimate locking away where no one could reach him, if I recall correctly. Lavellan knew of his plan, as well as his identity, and instead of letting him take the fall, she took his place, and... There was fluff before this disaster, but then feels. Time went forward several years to Solas trying to find a way to get her out, and then I awoke. 

 

Sorry if I interrupted any conversation. I just wanted to ramble about it before I lost more details. I needed to tell someone, but the only Dragon Age fan I know outside this thread is my brother, and he wouldn't appreciate my going all fangirl on him.

...It's embarassing, but with the few banter I get, is almost impossible for me to really say wich banters I like most. I think VashotBull/Solas and Varric/Solas/Cassandra.

I don't understand why they couldn't keep a trigger similar to the DAO/2, just changing that instead of play when passing in a definite place, the banter trig while entering a different zone (like:Templar's lair to Redcliff's farms). This way is too random. I started running around hoping for banter, with minimal results. Is annoyng.

I'm not patient enough to wait for all the banter to trigger so I just went ahead and read them all on the DA wiki. When I eventually manage to trigger banter I've already read about, I'm still really excited though. I guess I like them all, the chess match and Blackwalls elfroot/root question being among my favourites. 

 

...and then there are the moments when I manage to trigger area transition and banter around the same time. That way I can hear the first words of the first sentence and continue running around for hours hoping for somebody to speak again.

Do you think, if the last scene with Solas and Mythal had never happened and those ending tarot card didn't exist, that we would eventually have come to the conclusion that Solas was Fen'Harel anyways? I know a lot of people were hugely shocked at that revelation after everything, but there WERE a lot of hints about it before that. Even if it may have taken that ending scene to really put them all together.

 

Personally, I think yes. A lot of it is because "Solas is Fen'Harel" was a theory that gained traction even way back when we had a hugely minimal amount of information about him. I think between that, his behavior towards the orb and all the more subtle opinions and conversations and banters before that, our more theory-oriented fans would have come to that conclusion again. Solas fans are smart cookies and have shown an aptitude for taking tiny details and putting them in perspective. It's just that BioWare did the work for us in regards to Solas' identity so we never had to put the pieces together.

The theories would go to "Solas is an Ancient Elf" territory without a doubt. But I don't think it would go so much on the "he is Fen'Harel" one. Maybe in a "Sera is Andruil" way, yes. But a fan theory between many elses, not more.

On-topic question for the thread - Which companion's interactions with Solas are your favorite and why? By far my favorite is Solas/Cole for obvious reasons. Still trying to make up my mind regarding second place.

 

Solas/Cole mainly because I haven't done a run yet with Cassandra or Varric. Maybe next time.

 

They just seem to communicate on a completely different level. Fade talk.

That's useful. The more power he consumes the more powerful Lavellan will become when she absorbs his "essence" and ascends to power as the Dark Goddess.
