That's useful. The more power he consumes the more powerful Lavellan will become when she absorbs his "essence" and ascends to power as the Dark Goddess.

 

I'm still rather fond of my "Lavellan pulls a Flemythal with Fen'Harel's soul wisp" headcanon.  Also because I want to see the conversation that results between her and Morrigan if Morrigan does indeed get Mythal's soul wisp.  They never form the bond that Morrigan does with the Warden, and now they've got Mythal and Fen'Harel, two ancient gods who were close friends, rattling around inside them.  AWKWARD.

It sounds like a possible invading force to me (or at least, I hope it is). 

If we go to Tevinter in the next game, I'm going to have a really hard time giving a crap about "saving" the world in the Vint vs. Qun fight. Personally, I think they're both awful. An invasion of Executors (which might be the original Kossith) could give me a reason for an alliance, and a reason for me to even remotely care about the balance of power up north.

On-topic question for the thread - Which companion's interactions with Solas are your favorite and why? By far my favorite is Solas/Cole for obvious reasons. Still trying to make up my mind regarding second place.

My favorite team will always be Team Custody Battle aka Solas/Cole/Varric. You learn so much about their characters and thought processes through their banters, and the Solas/Varric ones are particularly telling. 

 

It's also really interesting to learn about him through people he doesn't like, since that's a side of him a romanced Lavellan might never see. The Solas/Vivienne banters certainly show the scotch bonnet candy part of him, but also that he isn't so far removed from that rash, hot-blooded youth as he would like to think. His banters with Sera are certainly illuminating. When he gives her advice on essentially militarizing the Red Jennies, I wonder if the advice he's giving is something he's actually done, or something he learned from his mistakes. Also, the pissing magic banter will always be hilarious.

Oh wow! Never paid any attention to this… Legally executors are usually those carrying out another party's orders, rather than executioners.

Fingers crossed.  I can now sympathize with all the people who got attached to the Warden, because I've gotten really attached to both of my Inquisitors.

I must confess I did not always read everything there. The war table was nice but it was also a classic text-based RPG in disguise.

"A sea monster grabs you, you die. Try again?"

 

I am not so sure every war table mission means something for the future. And even if, not necessarily with the inquisitor. I'd rather be somebody new next time.

So, a question for all of you.

 

Do you think, if the last scene with Solas and Mythal had never happened and those ending tarot card didn't exist, that we would eventually have come to the conclusion that Solas was Fen'Harel anyways? I know a lot of people were hugely shocked at that revelation after everything, but there WERE a lot of hints about it before that. Even if it may have taken that ending scene to really put them all together.

 

Personally, I think yes. A lot of it is because "Solas is Fen'Harel" was a theory that gained traction even way back when we had a hugely minimal amount of information about him. I think between that, his behavior towards the orb and all the more subtle opinions and conversations and banters before that, our more theory-oriented fans would have come to that conclusion again. Solas fans are smart cookies and have shown an aptitude for taking tiny details and putting them in perspective. It's just that BioWare did the work for us in regards to Solas' identity so we never had to put the pieces together. 

 

I'd still be clueless. It was almost as much a shock as finding out about Blackwall. I'm just no good at reading people/clues. I know everybody lies, I just can't tell when it's happening.

I'm still all about grad student TA Solas. Not quite a part of the system, but slowly realizing that academia is far more filled with politics than he had initially thought. Also, he can't afford to do his laundry regularly on a grad student salary, or to go shopping. He talks a lot about the Fade even though he's actually teaching something completely unrelated. His students all get awful grades.

A rustling, and an explosion of garbage as a man leaps from a refuse clogged alley. Gradstudent/barista/hipster/reincarnatedelvenhallaprincess!Lavellan winces as the old man grabs her hand, partly from shock and partly from the wave of body odor and whiskey fumes that assails her senses as she is dragged out of the alley towards the nearest intersection.

 

The man scowls fiercely at the red light, his forehead puckering and creasing in thought from his ginger brows to his gleaming hairless dome. "Quickly!" he shouts, frantically gesturing at oncoming traffic "before more come through!". He dramatically waves her hand towards the light, and in a freak coincidence it happens to turn green at that moment.

 

Gradstudent/barista/hipster/reincarnatedelvenhallaprincess!Lavellan eases away slowly, discreetly trying to wipe her hand on her jeans without causing offense. The man steps into the street to collect a dog someone has run over, drapes it over his shoulder, then toddles towards a store front window to examine himself in reflection.

 

"you know" he says, admiring his new finery "I'm actually an elven god."

it was supposed to be in patch 5 but is now scheduled for 6, and it seems far more likely to be due to debugging issues rather than giving us additional armor or hairstyles. I'd love it to be otherwise but i suspect we're unlikely to see any new content until at least april.
