It occured to me today that varric has no idea just how right he is when he nicknames solas chuckles.. It is said that after his great deception, fenharel spend centuries at the edge of the earth hugging his sides and giggling madly with glee.
Well played bioware... (yeah its just a story about fenharel and likely not literally true but still)

 

I have sometimes thought that maybe he might have been crying instead. Some forms of crying could be mistaken as laughing by ignorance or wishful thinking.

 

I've been trying to find a gif to convey my vision, but I can't find the perfect one.

I remember being a tad surprised that Solas was as calm as he was. I had dragged Blackwall along as my second companion, to avoid excess disapproval hits with Cassandra, and Solas was in my first slot. I don't remember much of Blackwall's reaction, to be honest, but Solas's calmness did leave an impression.

PS Well actually it appears he passed on very peacefully last Thursday morning, with his cat curled up and sleeping on his bed. Apart from anything else Terry or Sir Terry was an excellent organiser and it is unsurprising that the family have managed to release the news of his passing so efficiently. His only child, his daughter Rhianna is a games writer.

It sure does. Shattered my heel bone in January. Still can't walk. I sure hope it's not going to get worse than that for me.

I was never a Pratchett fan (read only one of his novels, liked it though), but I'm sorry to hear he died.   2015 seems to be the year of accidents and illness for many people I know. And apparently it's hellbent on killing cool people too. This is 2013 all over again...

 

 

If you picture smuggling, secrecy, and assassinations you completely overestimate our level of subtlety. Don't think of Solas, think of Bull. No, actually, think of Oghren.

I actually thought that's what happened if you didn't do his quest.  God, how heartbreaking would that have been...but in the best way.  There's really no risk at losing any of your companions.  I kind of wish there was in this game. I mean it's not like BW is afraid of bringing them back from the dead.  Also Cole is not really totally human so if they wanted him to come back they could have handwaved some B.S. reason to do so.
