I need a new tv show to binge watch. The bsn is more boring than usual these days.
Have you seen Orange is the New Black? If not, it's fantastic. Some others goodies that you may know about in some form, but just in case (some have already been posted about):
- House of Cards
- Outlander
- Game of Thrones
- Community
- Breaking Bad
- The Sopranos
- Downton Abbey
- Six Feet Under
- Weeds
- Arrested Development
- Frasier
On topic: If Solas starred in his own TV show, what would it be called?
Edit: Typo.
It's really good. Good character drama, decent as a period piece (**don't anyone go on about historical inaccuracies, no one cares**), brilliant fight choreography especially in the early seasons.
I care. ![]()
But I've already yapped on about why Vikings is fine in this regard earlier. ![]()
So, guys. I FOUND A THING.
Okay. I was in another thread and I found Sifr who FOUND A THING. ![]()

I'm wondering if one of those Titans might have been the inspiration for the Gate Guardians in the Western Approach?
A codex entry there tells us that they were created in tribute of a giant metallic creature encountered by a Tevinter sculptor one day in the desert, who's size blotted out the sky? While he assumed it was merely a golem, what if it was in fact something else, since while we've heard about golems being colossal (the Juggernauts of Minrathous), no golem we've seen has ever needed lyrium to survive?
Combine the Titans with the mystery on the Qunari origins, Ancient Elves mastering dimensional engineering with the Crossroads, plus those weird pyramids in Par Vollen built by a horned race that supposedly weren't the Qunari/Kossith... Thedas' past seems actually a bucketload more interesting than the modern world?
Got it. Watching first episode now. Probably not enough sex. The hair looks pretty.
Hi guys I'm wondering if you can help me out
Not sure if I've missed anything
I'm romancing Solas in my current playthrough and I just wanted to know when his next romance scene happens. I already saw the Balcony kiss 2 main story missions ago (where you confirm you want to romance him) and I'm a bit sad there hasn't been anything since. I finished the adamant and winter palace mission yet no new dialogue or new cutscene, is this supposed to happen? When am I supposed to see his next romance scene
. I've been good and haven't seen all the scenes on youtube or anything so I'm trying to avoid that.

Giton cares, too.
(Whenever they mention "England" I get all twitchy. ENGLAND did not exist as such. NERDRAGE!)
But, whenever I hear Old English:

Vikings exists in a continuity where Alfred the Great had access to the TARDIS, obviously. ![]()
The first use of it, at least according to Oxford Dictionary according to Doctor W. Pedia was 897CE. So Vikings is only a century off with that understandable anachronism. ![]()
I can't wait till they go to Scotland and fight people wearing kilts and blue face paint.

I'm fine with Vikings occasional departures from history.
Braveheart has the dubious distinction of being the second movie I've nerd-raged on.
The Patriot was the first.
...Goddammit, Gibson. ![]()

Here's the actual codex.

So the guy might actually be talking to a Titan. *pterodactyl noises*
Ok, so I have a few thoughts on this. For one, the writer mentions an Archon Ishal. Perhaps the namesake of the Tower of Ishal? This might put this codex pre-First Blight, when the Tevinter Empire still had a foothold in Ferelden.
Another thing that grabs my attention is that the talking statue carries a staff and casts "primal magic". It says that it seeks to "keep magic alive" and survives on "the blood of the earth". We've seen dragons referred to as "blood of the earth" before, and Yavanna mentioned that dragons have some connection to the existence of magic.
The writer modeled the gate guardians in the Western Approach after this talking statue, and imbued them with lyrium rods in the hopes that they will become animate one day.
Also, if this is a titan...why is it on the surface???
Hahah, I should be working but... NOPE HERE IS ANOTHER
NSFW
Spoiler
I am such elf trash.....
Dexter is wonderful.
All four seasons of it.
You got that right.
Let's not talk about how the show ended. I'm still in recovery...
I recommend Utopia. Haven't watched season 2 yet, though. But I really enjoyed it's grotesque weirdness and humor.
I do not recommend The Walking Dead. I can't believe I'm still watching this piece of **** for the two episodes each season that are actually sort of well done. I've never been so disgusted with myself.
Before this thread gets any weirder, I'm going to bed. It's 3 a.m. here anyway... I shouldn't have started playing Anno 2070 again. ![]()
Edit: To make this thread appear somewhat respectable again before the mods close it, here's my neutral top Solas:

(You sooo have nothing to hide. Totally innocent smirk. You're just here to help. Man, you're such a bad liar, Solas...)
You don't like The Walking Dead? I would bang Rick Grimes so hard. You got that right.

I LOVE YOU YOU ARE MY FAVORITE PERSON I SHALL SACRIFICE MANY ANIMAL CRACKERS ON YOUR PYRE ALL HAIL LAURELINVANYAR!

*deep breath*
Archon Ishal ordered the construction of Ostagar and the tower was named for him. The Imperial Highway was built in Ferelden around 6885FA, about two centuries after the enslavement of the elves. So presumably this Titan was around that era.
The sculptor seems to think it's talking about lyrium. But I'm almost inclined to think that the Titans are made of lyrium and souped up on dragon essence, and that that's why most of the lyrium in the Deep Roads is still blue. It's resistant. The Codex entry about feasting on the gods suggests that the Primeval Thaig peeps saw the lyrium as a form of the divine, but perhaps it's similar to the Christian practice of bread and water representing the body and blood of their Christ.
A gigantic magical golem walking around and eating dragons is kind of a fantastic idea.
The 'stay alive' part makes me think that the Titan's natural order had been disrupted. Perhaps by the rise of Paragon worship and modern dwarf culture and religion, several centuries earlier?
