Ok, so I have a few thoughts on this. For one, the writer mentions an Archon Ishal. Perhaps the namesake of the Tower of Ishal? This might put this codex pre-First Blight, when the Tevinter Empire still had a foothold in Ferelden. 
 
Another thing that grabs my attention is that the talking statue carries a staff and casts "primal magic". It says that it seeks to "keep magic alive" and survives on "the blood of the earth". We've seen dragons referred to as "blood of the earth" before, and Yavanna mentioned that dragons have some connection to the existence of magic.
 
The writer modeled the gate guardians in the Western Approach after this talking statue, and imbued them with lyrium rods in the hopes that they will become animate one day.
 
Also, if this is a titan...why is it on the surface???

In an AU capacity, I really enjoy fantasizing about Solas failing to perform any modern dance moves of any sort with any success. Or just having one, basic go-to move that he spams on the dance floor, over and over, and it's awful. I imagine him in suspenders, and he's just so awkward, and I laugh and laugh and then still wanna do him somehow. Maybe this fantasy was born today. I'm not sure. Probably Carrieli's doing. Thanks. Confused lady boner.

 

On a more serious note, I've just started playing Valiant Hearts, which is clearly going to make me cry a thousand tears, but it has a really, really lovely original soundtrack, and one song in particular reminded me of the bittersweet feels that characterize Solas' romance.

Regarding the Titan automata, I'd argue that this is perhaps the work of another ancient race. This type of magic for some reason doesn't ring as "Elven" to me. And, since this level of sentience seems to be far beyond modern dwarven golems, I would say that the dwarves learned how to build golems based off the Titans, or the dwarves of the Primeval Thaigs built the Titans. The PT dwarves were capable of a whole bunch of crazy stuff.
