See, I'm one of those assholes who almost always strongly characterizes and defines the PC (except for some kmeme fills). Fanfiction is for you, and it's for fun. Readers are always great, and always appreciated, but at least for me, the writing turns out better when I just do whatever I damn well please
IMO it's also more interesting as a reader, having the PC be an actual character instead of a placeholder for my Lavellan. I know my Lavellan. I wanna see other people's characters!
I found it really hard writing as Solas. Listening to DanaDuchy's compilation of DA:I banter helped a lot, though. So much of the character's subtleties are tied up in his banter with different companions.
Edit: Hey! I forgot to reply to this. *puts on dunce cap, sits in corner*
I support you in supporting your desire to write about your PC! And you have a good point about it offering a rounded story with an actual character, as opposed to a largely undefined protagonist. Perhaps I should be kinder to myself and give in to the strong urge. Or maybe I'll write two versions of things... Find+replace Tala with Lavellan, and delete any descriptive details when posting. ![]()
Listen, you don't understand the amount of self-control I am showing right now to not make a joke about Solas being in heat. I can't even.
Man, I was simply expecting someone to refer to me as a b!tch or something. This is so much better. Please, go on.
*Raises hand slowly.* I'm an INFJ as well. And to answer your prior question about what personality type our Lavellans have, I self-insert with my canon Lavellan, so alas she is INFJ as well. Lavellan is my only protagonist I've self-inserted thus far, though. My Hawke is ENFP, and my Hero of Ferelden I haven't quite figured out yet beyond her being an E. She's a complicated cookie. *Undoubtedly way, way late in response but oh well.*
I am out of likes. I like this! Thanks for replying. I'm feeling the urge to go and take the test as my Hawke and Mahariel now, too.
