The Qun does not waste, but now a family will sleep with bellies less full."
"The loaves fill the stomach, but these baked things soothe the soul," she said. "I was given one by the Arishok in passing when I was taken with distress, and it eased my pain. I bake these for the wounded Antaam from Seheron, and all those of the Qun beset by doubt."
The ashkaari nodded thoughtfully, and the two waited for what seemed like hours, breathing in the growing smell of sweet-bread. At last, the baker pulled out the tray. The little balls of wasted dough had become crisp and crumbly discs.
The ashkaari tasted the invention at the baker's insistence, and smiled as flavor burst in his mouth. "Could you make one with raisins for all ashkaari?" He asked hopefully.
The baker frowned. "What part about 'joy' do you not understand?" She huffed, and pelted him in the eye with a chocolate chip.
You are aware that this amount of intelligent sentences in one place is really difficult to digest? I feel rather intimidated. But I am trying to aline with the smart people here (cool by association), so I must comment something to make it look like I operated on your level and actually contributed to this conversation. So, to relate this post to your statement at all, I must ask: what is your conclusion now; did Solas lie or not?

I think you also read my post before I edited to add the part about subjectivity. Since my definition relies on what a listener would wish to know, or what sufficient justification for withholding information is, the answer depends on the individual recipient. Or perhaps is so relative as to render the question moot?
So, in short, I'm not certain that there is a right answer to that question. Did he lie? I don't know. I guess that depends on your point of view, at least using the definition I have provided. Which itself may not be entirely accurate. For me, personally? I think it was relevant information, but I'm guessing there was sufficient justification for failure to disclose. But, time --or the next game, DLC, etc-- will tell? In short, I have no certain opinion. Whatever his ultimate goal is, I find him to be a logical, ethical person in search of truth and liberty. If he didn't tell me something, I would think he had his reasons. Whenever I find out what they are, I may or may not agree with them. Who the hell knows! Apparently, not I.
Do I have to have the answers? It's so much easier to just ask the questions. 
(And the point asking questions is to consider possibilities, not necessarily to find an answer, if there even is one.)
