I don't see BioWare risking a second ME3 uproar. I assume if Lavellan dies, it will be a player choice, so there will be an alternative. The same for Solas. A Lavellan-or-Solas choice is the worst case scenario I expect.

Another good ending would be a gritty showdown where Solas sacrifices Lavellan to his plans, walking away from her dead body, tears running over his face. Then return as the broken, emotional husk and staying the dark force in the background for another two games.
Just saying...
Or perhaps we have the option to wipe him as it were, not entirely erase his existence but to erase his memory of everything he has done so far...

I want to sing you a love song for this.
I have a few "dark endings" on rotation - this is on the greatest hits.
Every ending I envision for solas involves my lavellan having to kill him ahaha
Yeah. The best ones do. the ones that i see most clearly in my head. I want him to live and i love solas' character - i really do - but I love tragedy. I LOVE THE PAIN.

i'm just going to extrapolate from that comment than you ship andruil/ghilan'nain as well as sera/harding so you are awesome and have awesome taste
but yeah i love the paranoia, like gg bioware you got us good
and andruil once tied FH to a tree and tried to force him to have sex with her for a year and a day so i'm thinking that sera theory is a little iffy

The story of Fen'Harel and the Tree. It's one of the stories Best Elf tells Briala in The Masked Empire.

codex about andruil/fen'harel. i would post but the wiki doesn't work at my job. it's one of their myths. obviously there may be some truth to their "rivalry" and we may find out more, but likely it's nothing more than a story.

They better announce DLC soon, or I'm going to find somewhere else to spend all my time I should be working. Previously.tv forums are getting interesting since sweeps will be coming soon.
I want to strive to watch TV again. I've not kept up on ANY of my favorite shows for like... 3 years. It's impacting my friendships, as they can't talk to me about Walking Dead or Bones, and I can't talk to them about DA, because neither has time for the other. THESE STRUGGLES ARE REAL YOU GUYS. ![]()
I want my Lavellan to survive this mess in one piece. Of my three PCs, she's the one who has the best chance of helping Thedas move forward. She's young, resilient, and has a continent-spanning organization at her beck and call. Also I just killed my Hawke, and I really don't wanna have to kill another PC.
So if Solas has to die, I want her to be there for him at the end so he's not alone.
I agree. Although, a selfish part of me hopes there's a giant cooperative effort in the end with our three heroes.
I'd love to remake my Warden Cousland and then take her and Hawke, and like kick down the door to the next bad guy, pose Charlie's Angels-style, then blast fire and arrows into the faces of all who dare cross their paths. Then, because Adalyn Hawke is a snark-factory, she'll yell out "Elven Glooorrryy", because let's face it, SOMEONE from the Elvhen Pantheon will be the next bad, and they, along with Solas (who we had to bail out of trouble, because OF COURSE WE HAD TO) will /disgusted noise simultaneously, while my Lavellan snorts and cracks up in the background like "No, no, please continue..." then Hawke, Warden, and Quizzy will triple-high-five...
/roll credits.
Wow, that kind of got away from me...

Thanks for the clarification, since I haven't read the book I was a little lost on where that story cropped up. The more we look into this, the Ancient Elves seemed a lot darker than what I originally expected.
I also hate catching up in this thread, it moves so fast!
I'll also throw my hat into the ring and agree with some of the closure ideas, as much as it hurts me, I am a sucker for a good tragedy...Seeing Solas do something self-sacrificing to correct his mistakes is very appealing to me (despite how much I really want him to live happily ever after with Lavellan and raise a family and all that fluff...) I'll admit, that if the Solas romance wasn't so darn sad then people probably wouldn't be talking so much about it, just like the Anders romance in DA2.
I also am highly entertained at the fact people are nicknaming the DLC "Wolf Hunt"
and now cannot get the idea out of my head that Fenris and Solas would cross paths: the little wolf and Fen'Harel. Why are so many cool fantasy characters symbolised by wolves? I'm not complaining, (I love wolves) but I'm curious ![]()

Let's talk about a hypothetical scenario for a moment.
I sometimes see people saying they hope their Lavellans can help Solas with his plans. If his plans are indeed to release the rest of the elven "gods" (that's the assumption for the scenario).. can anyone in this position explain to me why they [their Lavellans] would do that? Is it for love? Releasing the gods seems like a terrible idea to me lol.

I hadn't played or romanced an elf in Dragon Age before Inquisition. I went in full force this time, apparently. I sometimes wonder how I wound up here.
Me too! Now I'm hooked.

for Looooove!
Depends on my Lavellan. One of them would cut heart shaped elfroot cookies for Solas to take on his work day murdering puppies. Another would kill him if he tries anything remotely evil.

Oh, thanks for asking this. I am currently pantheon positive(to borrow a tumblr term...because i'm feeling tumblr critical right now and want to make fun of it). So, if given the choice, my lavellan would totally do it because falon'din/dirthamen/andruil/june are amazing glitter gods.
Seriously though, she would do it. I think - more than anything - the pantheon will be symbols of the fall. These people so steeped in excess that they just caused their own demise - especially Andruil. I know the popular opinion is to hate on her because 'she tie my husbando to a tree for da sex. I R MAD', but her codexes paint her to be incredibly tragic. So I think there is more to them than just evil gods. Also, if Solas is asking for help, I think she would do it because she's MET Solas. He is MORE than his stories. She would also probably believe they are more than theirs as well...if that makes sense.
