Let's talk about a hypothetical scenario for a moment.
I sometimes see people saying they hope their Lavellans can help Solas with his plans. If his plans are indeed to release the rest of the elven "gods" (that's the assumption for the scenario).. can anyone in this position explain to me why they [their Lavellans] would do that? Is it for love? Releasing the gods seems like a terrible idea to me lol.
For me, it will depend on his purpose. I believe that whatever his plans are, they are to help restore the elvhen race to it's immortal, magical glory. What that entails, whether it is freeing the gods, ending the blight that perhaps caused them to war in the first place(?), or tearing down the veil, I believe that my Lavellan can help guide him towards the better choices than he might make on his own by making him think things through. However, after allying with mages, ending the circle, exiling the wardens and drinking from the well of sorrows, I'm not sure my Lavellan is any better at making decisions than Solas is.
Though I can't imagine the majority of players out there agreeing to help Solas do any of those things if he's honest with them about his plans. He may just trick the protagonist into helping as he is wont to do, or was in the past at least.
Whatever happens, I'm just really excited (And nervous) to see what the next game holds in store.

So I'm romancing Solas this time around with my elf mage, Elora. But at the end of Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts, I didn't get Solas on the balcony with me at the end cut scene. I got Josephine...again. I got her last time I played too even though I was romancing Blackwall at the time. What gives? I completely missed my Solas dancing cut scene! Is there a glitch with my game? I had to watch the scene on Youtube.
I think your question may have gotten missed.
With all of the companion LI's, there are generally certain events that must happen before WE&WH, in order to trigger the dance with your LI. In Solas' case, you need to have done his personal quest, had him return to Skyhold, then talk to him to trigger the balcony scene in your Lavellan's bedroom at Skyhold. And of course - it goes without saying - that you take the romance options in the bedroom/balcony scene.
Not sure what the required scene/dialogue it is for Blackwall, since I have yet to romance him. Sorry.
Hope this answers your query. If you did all that, and didn't somehow break the romance prior (Blackwall can supposedly ninjamance players, if you flirt with him on the battlements, right after getting to Skyhold) then I suppose it could be a bug. However, most people know when they get ninjamanced, because they no longer have the heart options (and lovely kissing animations) from Solas, if they got "ninjamanced".

Maybe, if there is some type of greater evil out and about. The forgotten ones sound like they could be that greater evil, does freeing the Pantheon mean freeing them too? I dono, if given the choice I would probably free them, it would definitely make Thedas much more interesting. ![]()

I want to strive to watch TV again. I've not kept up on ANY of my favorite shows for like... 3 years. It's impacting my friendships, as they can't talk to me about Walking Dead or Bones, and I can't talk to them about DA, because neither has time for the other. THESE STRUGGLES ARE REAL YOU GUYS.
I haven't caught up on basically any tv shows except TWD and OUAT since DAI came out. And if DLC isn't announced soon I'm going back to Vampire Diaries and PLL.

I personally think my Lavellan would like to restore what was lost to her people but after hearing so many different variations of the Dalish stories and legends it's skewed her view and sort of made her rethink her purpose. She wouldn't follow Solas blindly, but I like to think that she'd try to offer a different perspective and act as a counter balance, just in case he acted on impulse and was unaware of the consequences (though I highly doubt that he didn't consider that, he seems too smart for overlooking details).
It's difficult to call, I have a feeling that if he releases the "Gods" then it will inevitably release the Forgotten Ones too, and cause some huge apocalyptic war. I somehow don't think "love" can carry that responsibility that far, unless Lavellan was a psychopath and wanted a huge war between gods.
"Oh noes! You destroyed the world! Oh well, I still love you!" doesn't exactly excuse messing up on such a huge scale. It reminds me of DA2 when player's Hawkes ran away with Anders, there are some things love can't excuse, unless you're so enamored that it makes you completely disregard the bad of what your lover did and then maybe you shouldn't be leading an Inquisition ![]()

I think with Solas' history of making decisions and not considering the consequences enough, he has, to some degree (Corypheus aside....a really BIG aside....which he helped fix regardless) learned some lessons from all of this. Not merely regret, but as he says in banter. "A mistake. One made by a much younger elf who thought he knew everything".
Well, I think more along the lines of his plans for the Veil. I don't think he simply wants to release the gods and walk away. The gods may be blighted or they may be hungry for vengeance or something worse. Out of control, perhaps. This won't be a decision or an action, whatever it is, that he takes lightly. Everything they had is gone. He remains. Powerful again, but as before, he wasn't powerful to take on the entire pantheon alone, hence his use of cleverness to do whatever he did.
Solas talks about "the People". He wants to help the elves, and the Veil may be key to that.
As for Lavellan, given what she has learned over the course of the game, I think her mind (in mine's case) is open and there may be ways she can help, such as with the Anchor.
So no, not just for love, though I'd believe love would influence her, but also because of realizing that the Dalish got so much wrong. It's a similar reason why she accepted the offer to remove her vallaslin. There's some hope for something better.

I've been thinking about this too. Maybe he's on a mission to stop something really evil and that's why he seems to be in a hurry, but...
if he was almost willing to abandon his mission to be with Lavellan, it can't be anything that serious. Or can it? In my opinion, he wouldn't even think about giving up saving the world, even if it would be for love.

I think it may be critical. I don't think he just woke up for nothing and had a panic attack about past mistakes. I think someone woke him up because **** is going to go down. From what we see with the sentinals - they can only wake up if their wards are disturbed. So I really don't think waking up from uthenera is voluntary. Though it may be questionable if he really needs to participate. With him almost abadoning - I think Weekes really wanted the Solasmancers to know that he really really cares about Lavellan to avoid any possible complaints that 'he's just using her'.

I think my Lavellan would consider helping Solas with whatever he is planning if he answers all her questions first. He's got some explaining to do. She wants to know what he did (or didn't do) and why. She's not just going to be blinded by love.

My Revas would help him do lots of things that were questionable.
Would she help him knock over old ladies and drown kittens? Probably not. Release a bunch of old Elven gods? Maybe, depending on a few things. I think she'd want the true full story before she helped him, not just the half-story he'd give her for her "protection". He'd need to stop lying, stat. (Lying liar who lies.) And if she thought his goal would benefit her and her family of friends.

Though, it might depend how long he has been awake, which isn't exactly clear. Also, what the breaking of the orb represents, and if that is hurrying his plans (since maybe if it remained intact he would've had more time). That happening did rush his plans to plan B pretty quickly.
Edit: How'd I get up here.
