I actually played Gabriel Knight 1 and 2 again a few months ago. Still fun times!!! I bought all the King's Quest games and Guest for Glory games on GOG not too long ago, I haven't played them yet...but I suspect more fun times. I remember going to Barnes and Noble back when they sold floppy disc games and buying them. So many lovely memories. And all those old D&D games...heehe.. I never finished any of them..they were sooo hard!!
Wow, Gabriel Knight, that unlocked a weird old memory. Some of those point and click games do kind of hold up, even if the voice acting is terrible and hilarious - last year my friend and I re-played Loom and all those Kings Quest games. It took a toll in sanity and wine consumption, but it was fun.
And I love how weird and punishing they were. Like, oh, did you feed your pie to the starving eagle? Too bad, because now you have nothing to throw at the angry Yeti. GAME OVER, LOSER. Also, mapless 3D maze dungeons that force you to keep track of every intersection? All I want in life.
