So, I have tea information for anyone who was curious about those dragon age teas! I'm in the process of getting all of them. If there's any interest, I'll try to post a review for the others too.

 

But first is Solas tea, which is a blended tea. [Lapsang souchong, Irish Breakfast, Masala Chai and cloves. ] 

 

DISCLAIMER: I am no tea expert, just a dumb person.

THE TIN:

 

 

The tin is very cute! Just a simple metal adagio tin with a slid top. It clicks closed, but it might pop off if you tried to get rough with it. The tea isn't held in by anything but the lid, so be sure to tap the tin once or twice to make sure the tea has settled before opening it.

 

You could definitely reuse the tins for other things. They are of a decent size, slightly bigger than a matchbox. Looks like there's enough tea inside for 5ish cups of tea. This is just the sampler size. 

 

STEP 1:

[ Brewed for about five-ish minutes with two and a half teaspoons of tea. It comes out very red! ] 

 

 

STEP 3:

[ My preferred way of drinking tea is adding in a shot of milk and honey. ]

 

 

[ Solas's look of disgust makes this tin. Silently judging you. ] 

 

Verdict:

 

This is a really, really nice tea. Definitely the sort of tea that I would order again. Some reviewers on the site mentioned that the smell of the loose tea leaves was 'overpowering'...I didn't really find it any more smelly than the usual tea. If you are unused to the smell of cloves you might be surprised I suppose. 

 

It does skew a bit more bitter than sweet, even with honey. But it has a very nice cinnamon aftertaste. I would not recommend this for someone who was not already a tea drinker as it does have a very 'tea' sort of taste. Solas would HATE this tea. It is stated to be 'high caffeine', and I can feel it. 

 

Tomorrow shall be Cullen's!

Ugh, tea looks so good! I love teas, to be honest, I'm already swamped under so many different teas I buy compulsively, that I might just buy these ones as well.

Yeah! I was a little worried about how the Solas tea would taste, judging by the reviews. It definitely isn't sweet. But it basically tastes like a black chai tea with a bit of cinnamon. 

 

Super caffeinated though, wow. I feel like a drank a cup of coffee. That may be the only downside for me, as I try to avoid super caffeinated things. 

 

That's why that is Solas tea. It's ironic.

I've been curious about the flavor of the Solas tea. If it was too bitter or woody. I love tea though, so I may get a sample tin of that eventually. The Sera tea also looks really good, as I already like the Thai Chai and adding more tropical flavors to it should be a winner. Cullen blend sounds so good as well.

Label claims it is. I'm not as used to brewing green teas, so we'll see how that comes out! It looks like its one of the only ones that isn't mega levels of caffeine, which is nice.

I can drink 3 cups of coffee and tea a day, so caffeine doesn't bother me anymore, unless I don't have it, in which case I can get some bad headaches.
