Roughly traced over what I saw. Looks almost like a tree, but maybe vallaslin?
Pretty sure they made him as unattractive as possible so that we'd feel no remorse letting him be killed.
Which is quite horrible.
Really? I feel like I'd feel less guilty if he were attractive. I mean, look at this bumbling potato invoking the wrath of our dear fade addict. He's probably had a lot of short comings in his life, been judged for looking the way he does, the poor sod. To top it off he wrongly presumed and was mislead by what he'd read in a book. So it made me feel guilty letting Solas kill the guy with this line of thought. Still in the end dark Solas was disturbingly sexy.
So. I must confess that the second playthrough is numerous times more heartwrenching. It may be because the obsession has rooted so deep. I'm already an overly emotional weirdo, but Solas? The emotions I'm feeling surpass what it's usual for me to feel in relation to fiction and fantasy and the like. He's on the same level of emotion and love with my greatest male character obsession to date. That's no minuscule feat. I cried just watching him die in that future at Redcliffe. I'm a lost cause. Solas has ruined me. Just you wait. Next shall come the writing drabbles forged of my headcanons.
Anywho, I just needed to ramble a bit. *Returns to Codex entry wading.*
I kind of get this too on my second run. Because you go through the first blissfully unaware and then the second time, all of the clues about Solas and other lines and things just stand out more since you're aware and looking for them. In Redcliffe, knowing what we know about how Corypheus managed in the first place, Solas' pain and his goals, and how the red lyrium is alive and the theories about Blighted gods, etc. It makes Solas' situation in that future so much worse in hindsight.
I WILL SAVE YOU AND PUT YOU BACK ON THE PATH TO BREAKING MY HEART, SOLAS. ![]()
Just going to drop this here because it's hilarious and I'm crying.
It just gets right off and rolling with it. The grandma conversation. I love it.
If anyone ever wants to do a fully DA Cards Against Humanity game, I'd totally set one up. I've been trying to nail down a few friends (I have one but we need 3+ players) but many aren't into the series or are busy/in far off time zones.

I enjoy banging characters who exist only in the codex entries.
Woo!
Also, Fairbae.
And as for other minor npcs, hmmmm, what about the potato mage guy?
Duuuude what is wrong with you??? That's a comb over which is really what made Solas angry. He was like, shem it's bad enough you're mortal and standing in my personal space messing with my bro who I boinked in the Fade but dat hair! How dare you comb it over in my presence. Bald is beautiful!!!!!
*Abelas agrees* Bald bros must stick together.

Super jelly of your screenshooting skills right now. ;_;
Also are those little Inquisition symbols on his clothes? Solas, you nerd, stop fanboying over the Inquisitor!
YOU SHUT YOUR WHORE MOUTH! Dog is precious and should have been in inquisition! Damn freemarch inquisitor having no dogs.
I miss having a dog. I may not have used Dog much in Origins but I did love that pooch (and the dog we have in DA2 as well). It felt a bit weird that we got no dog in DAI. ![]()
Speaking of being a bad person, chapter 2 of my porny Solavellan fic is complete: http://archiveofouro...hapters/7883826
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I enjoyed reading this. Hot.
But that little bit at the end made me a bit sad. ![]()

That's the symbol on the chest where you can find the flower crown. Did we see it before?

"Vir Tanadhal [translates to "Way of the Three Trees"] is a dalish philosophy espoused by a clan's hunters in the elven goddess of the hunt, Andruil. It teaches young Dalish hunters to respect nature, work together and be resolute in purpose." (Kind of like how players have banded together to uncover this mystery!)
Codex entry: Way of the Three Trees
"Be swift and silent" - Vir Assan: The Way of the Arrow
"As the sapling bends, so must you" - Vir Bor'assan: The Way of the Bow
"Recieve the gifts of the huntress with mindfulness" - Vir Adahlen: The Way of the Wood
Apply Andruil to everything! \o/
ToP Fairy Solas
Dear maker, he's so beautiful

I'm seeing a lot of Dorian and Morrigan, but not enough Solas! Go forth, wolf pack! <333 May the Dread Wolf take your vote! ![]()
Great share, as always, Capricorn. ![]()
I love how people's experience of Solas tends to be either "Omg stop approving of everything I'm doing! I'm just asking you questions!" or "He's gonna disappr- yep, he disapproved. Greatly too. F*ck."

I think the only time I got a 'greatly disapproves' was when I kept the Wardens, but it was still like noooo.
I find the comments about him approving when you ask questions amusing but I also like that he does that. I'm inquisitive and curious by nature and I played it that way and while I did see the approval I wasn't asking him just to get approval. I always ran out of dialogue with him just because of how fascinating he was.

I'm dying
This is so true!

Same. x) That little "................. sigh" if you keep the Wardens made me say, "Oh, well excuse you, Solas!" at my screen. xD I love it.
I found that the same way in my PTs. As much as I like to claim I don't self-insert, there always is a little bit, so it's difficult for me to get one where unless I actively try to gain his disapproval, especially at the start since you don't get a lot of choice in terms of roster and he seems to approve of every little thing you do.
Unlike Varric! Like something I do, geeze!... I smash a red lyrium, that gets your approval. Save refugees? Nah, nothing. I'm trying to be your bro here, dude!
ToP (Disclaimer, I'm almost certain this has been shared already, but I don't remember how long ago but buggerit, I'm running out of stuff to share. Don't make me resort to The Gif!)
I really wanted to know how you guys role-played your elves actually. Normally I play humans so it was the first time I had to really think how she would respond to things . What were your elves temperaments like and what was their relationship like with Solas?

I know, right? xD
In my experience, on my very first PT, I was gaining approval from him left and right when the Inquisition was still stationed at Haven -- from asking him questions and by helping the refugees. The only time I gained disapproval in the game was when we finally reached Skyhold and major decisions had to be made. And those said decisions don't always make Solas happy, like keeping the Wardens and making Cole more human (and maybe some decisions made during the Judgment sidequests). x)

My female helped everybody. She turned pretty emo after Solas left.
My male....I had alot more fun with him. He basically made all the choices I didn't make on my nice playthrough.

My Lavellan is the first really heroic character I've played in a while. She has a bit in common with Liara and Leliana. Kind, sweet, and good-hearted, but savvy enough to really f*** people up.
Her relationship with Solas started out pretty uneven. She's 23, and Solas was her first relationship. So there were some mentorshippy elements to the relationship early on. Once she really came into her own as Inquisitor, it became much more equal, and she started to challenge him in her own way.
