I like this! New headcanon: the ardent blossom was Andruil's crown.

Edit: ToP again? I'm game.

Spoiler

I just want to say I really love your screenshots. They're beautiful! I'm a filthy console peasant so I'm always in awe when I see these gorgeous shots and compare it to the sad PS3 graphics. xD

(Note: I do play PC games on my laptop but I highly doubt that DA:I could run on it.)

I was doubtful if my computer could handle DA:I, but I used Can You Run It (http://www.systemreq...ntslab.com/cyri) and, as it turns out, I can play the game with most settings on Ultra. Obviously I don't know your computer specs, but if you have Java (which everyone should really) you can use it to see if your comp can handle it or not. ^^

PS: I'm a console peasant at heart, always. But I cannae resist the mods. xD

Thanks for this! I'll use it to see if my laptop could handle a monster like DA:I. I mean, some of the newer PC games I've tried tend to run slowly on this old laptop of mine but I'll try anyway. xD

So speaking of flower crowns...do we have any theories about the origin of the thing?

My laptop had a hard time running DA:I, it was lagging like hell. So I played on my partner's computer, a huge beast he bought recently. Full HD, running smooooooth. It was quite nice.

I play DA:O on my laptop though, it runs well on it, still.

I mostly play on PC, not really a console peasant, unless the games I wanna play are console-restricted. Hence why I always try to buy computers that can handle games (and also because I need them to handle graphics and 3D softwares, which require basically the same stuff than games).

I think it might actually be all the mods I have downloaded.   but I'm pretty sure there is no way it could play DA:I

I'll just keep playing on my XBox 360...no mods for me.

Thank you! <3 My big brother built this PC for me as a present for my graduation almost two years ago. It won't be able to run games like The Witcher 3 on ultra, but it's still a great PC :D

I killed my laptop playing ME/2, Skyrim, and DAO on it....poor thing will now shutdown if I boot up any of those games. My desktop can only muster ME3 on Medium settings but then it's over ten years old. DAI would make it explode.

My PC turns five this year, and it can only handle DAI on medium and it lags at times and kills my framerates. But I refused to turn it down super super low.

Aww. :(

DA:O runs fine on my laptop. So do the Mass Effect games. Not sure about DA2 since I never bought the PC version.

Could be. When I played the PC version of Skyrim on my laptop, it ran fine. Then when I downloaded more and more mods, the game would just shut down after a while. Also, for some reason, I could no longer fast travel. The game just shuts down when I try to do so, so I had to go around from one location to another on foot Morrowind style.

I play all of the DA games on my PS3 first since at least I know for sure that the game could run well there, more or less, despite the graphics not looking great and no mods. Then I tend to buy the PC version later (usually when there's a sale on Steam) so I could have fun with mods. :P

So, over time, I've been gathering songs that remind me of Solavellan (just like everyone else ^_^ ) and this...ugh this one is getting me in the feels right now.

Especially since this is how I headcanon mine. Open-minded, willing to accept.

Yes, I thought my question was gonig to be missed. Thanks for responding.

As for my first playthrough, I probably didn't do enough with Blackwall before Wicked Eyes. This time, I didn't rush into it. I played through several landscapes first and did many inner circle quests before heading to the ball.

I believe I did complete Solas' inner circle quest of finding and helping his spirit friend prior to Wicked Eyes. Since I'm romancing him, I got it much earlier in the game than I did my first playthrough. I suppose that means I have a bug.  Which probably means the next time I play, I'm gonna get Josephine again. :(

Sorry to read that getting that scene to trigger, isn't working for you. :( This could very well be a bug. Just in case though, since some things can sometimes be missed or overlooked: After the cutscene, when Solas returns to Skyhold and you meet him coming through the main gate, did you go to speak with him straight (or soon) after, in his usual spot in the rotunda? Doing that, would trigger the bedroom balcony scene. Once doing that scene, does he mention the "kiss" in the fade, and did you get the opportunity to grab his arm for the second kiss in his romance?

Next, did you have your character flirt with anyone else, while at Skyhold (with the exceptions of Dorian, Cassandra or Harding), before WE&WH? The lock-in for romance seems to be a bit "all over the place", for these different LI's. Since the "official" lock in to his romance is near the end of the romance arc, if you flirted with someone else before WE&WH, it may be a problem of the flags not recognizing a single and specific LI. However, that doesn't mean that you can't complete the romance arc. The only supposed soft-flag romance, that seems to (potentially) break the Solas romance, is the Blackwall flirt on the Battlements.

If someone has better and more detailed info regarding what can or could break Solas' romance (beyond choosing the "let's stop" option on the bedroom balcony, or choosing another LI before that scene), please feel free to share. I am still not fully versed in all the romances, nor their little nuances. ;)

lol...at least there are horses in Skyrim.  There weren't any in Morrowind right?  Just those giant bug things. I haven't played that game in so long.

I didn't have any consoles when DA:O and DA2 came out..so I got them for PC and got XBox versions later.  I actually enjoy playing those kinds of games on consoles more, but I sure do enjoy mods. Oh well...maybe someday I'll get a newer computer.

I've found computer bits and pieces start showing their wrinkles around the 2/3 years mark, if you research the pieces and work out which of what needs updating first you can keep it up to date with games, and it's a much cheaper option than buying a new computer outright once your current one kicks the bucket.

I had my computer built by Chillblast (I can't recommend them enough, this is my second computer with them), and I could pick out what I wanted. While I'm not up to scratch on my hardware, I know what's inside my comp. because I chose the hardware, and it'll make things easier to find out what to update.

It's awkward with laptops, since a lot of it is welded on. I wouldn't recommend them for gaming.

On topic: Anyone notice after the Haven-singing-scene that Solas calls you Lethallin, even if you're female. Apparantly they can be used interchangeably, but it still grates against me when he says it.

My lappy is about...6 years old. I'm surprised it still runs pretty good. My Desktop died a couple years ago, it was about 3.

I sure would love a really expensive gaming computer so I could see Solas in all his high definition elven glory.

Edit:  I had to add elven in there.

I'm too fixed on how incredibly hot that whole bit is on from as soon as he says "A word..." to care. ;)

I guess because he calls my girl Lethallan every time in greeting, but then in that one scene it's Lethallin. I guess it throws me more than anything else, because they go to the effort to make sure they're consistent, and then drop it on that one moment. It's probably down to an oversight more than anything else.

That's what I'm afraid of. I don't mind buying PC games as long as I know that my laptop could handle it. But then when I heard that even some PC users are having problems running DA:I, then what chance does my poor laptop have? xD That's one of the reasons why I sometimes buy the console version. It may be the crappiest version but at least I get to play the game. xD

I think my laptop is around the same age as yours. :P

Also, I guess I should save up for my own desktop PC. One that could run games like DA:I and yes, also so I could see Solas' beautiful face in high def.  (As well as take tons and tons of screenshots of him because I'm creepy like that.)

My "gaming" laptop is two years old and already can't play DAI because it's dual-core instead of quad-core and I'm too lazy to do the workaround. I still play a lot of games on it - mostly Steam stuff - but anything at the "AAA" level is basically not gonna happen. I can't be fussed to figure out what I need to upgrade every two years right now, so for the big games I just lovingly cradle my console. Sure I can't mod and the performance is a bit lower but I can play games on it for ten years and never have to worry that they won't run.

But one day... one day I will have the time and the funds to be a real PC gamer with a real desktop and it will be glorious *_*

Regarding "lethallin": my brain goes into fangirl mode whenever Solas says anything in elvish so I don't notice at all. He could be calling my Quiz "the dudest of dude-bros" and I'd be like "yes please say more sexy things in my presence"

That's the biggest selling point of consoles for me, and a reason why I won't completely convert to the "PC Master Race". We managed to get a PS3 on release (2007, so, 8 years ago?) and it still plays fine now, it's just noisy with the fan and I suspect that's probably due to it needing a cleaning more than anything else. (That or the hamster turning it on its wheel is exhausted. Poor dude, keep it up!)

I could never trust a computer/laptop to do the same without upgrading something in that time space.

Edit because I can't grammar.

My 5-year old PC is a gaming laptop, and while it has had its share of issues, none of the hardware has been upgraded. So you can actually be okay with a PC for gaming over a span of time. But, this originally belonged to boyfriend and he spent a lot on getting it stuffed full of components not quite needed back then, so it has lasted.

Well, except for the battery. The battery crapped out about a year into the purchase (which is fine, I treat the heavy beast as a desktop anyway)  and I've needed to repair other things. I replaced the thermal paste last summer. New hard drives. etc.

He and I are looking to do a dual upgrade together but he's waiting for some card or ship (I always forget which) that was supposed to come out but was delayed.

Random fact: I once dropped this heavy gaming laptop on my foot and it landed straight on my toe. It was painful for quite a while but not sure if it were bruised or worse. It got swollen and purple and couldn't be bent (I've broken a finger and a toe previously, so it's possible).
