Bf bought me a gaming laptop for christmas. If I had DAI for pc then i'd have a blast...sadly I got it for my xbone.

Considering that I receive presents twice a year, which add up to maybe $200 in total a year...

I'm actually quite happy as a PC user that we get beta-testers getting the DLC before us. That way, I'll know, based on Xbox users reaction, if I'll need to prepare myself mentally and emotionally for a complete wreckage, or not. Not sure I'll be super eager to play DLC before quite some time, if it only ends super badly, to be honest. I'll need to prepare.

 

Edit: its not a laptop. Its a desktop. I just had no sleep...

 

I think I would have immediatebly proposed to my boyfriend if he had done that. Never let him go, he's a good one.

I guess it throws me more than anything else, because they go to the effort to make sure they're consistent, and then drop it on that one moment. It's probably down to an oversight more than anything else.

My exhusband is a computer nerd. He builds them from scratch. He had built all of mine up until we got divorced. It's a real shame we didn't remain friends, I sure could use his computer knowledge sometimes. I bet he could build me an awesome gaming computer. *sighs*

Some of my friends and I have an agreement that I will keep a list of DLC "triggers" and let them know if any crop up. I don't mind taking one for the team xD

It does irk me a little that the gender-neutral term seems to usually be the term that also applies to men... as if being a man is the default >.>

I picked up DAI on release and my old Asus notebook just managed to play it on Medium (at a stretch, despite saying it didn't meet minimum requirements, it LIES!) but I already had my laptop for about 2 years anyway, and it decided to finally overheat and die when I was just about to set off on the Temple of Mythal after doing all the side stuff *headdesk*.  In the end, I ended up using some collective birthday and Christmas present money to get a new custom laptop (PCSpecialist if anyone was curious) and I have to say, it is fantastic!  I finally managed to finish my game in January (thank god for Origin cloud saves!) and then immediately started up a fresh game for the pure elfy-ness

 

My friend keeps pestering me to get a desktop to avoid this problem, as replacing parts is easier than buying a whole new laptop. But I simply don't have the room for the desk and everything to go with it.  For the most part, my new laptop is perfect for gaming.

 

The only thing that makes me sad is that I lost all my screenshots of my original Inquisitor (Trevelyan) so I was super annoyed at that, but at least I didn't lose all my writing and music (lesson learned people: back up your files!)

Mine is an ASUS and I replaced the thermal paste last year. I had a hard drive die and thus my DAO screens disappeared, but I still have the ones the game takes automatically.

 

Also, you lucky people for whom Solas did not get you on your first playthrough..... ruining everything.

Mine finally gave up the ghost after running DAI, I think.  The battery was way overdue for a replacement because it was so old, and I think because I didn't clean it, the dust just built up over the course of the 2 years and overheated.  I took it in to a specialist and he found that the heat and dust had destroyed the graphics card and caused a HDD failure as well as burning out the RAM, I got the initial problems fixed (thinking that I could repair it and keep going) but I was waiting on a replacement graphics card for about 2 weeks.  After it was clear that I wouldn't get anywhere with replacing the card and I got sick and tired of having a DA "media blackout" to avoid spoilers, I finally went "Sod it, I'll get a new one!"

 

That is actually my one regret! I really wanted to play as an elf but I changed my mind at the last minute! If I could do it differently, I think I would have enjoyed the Solas romance a lot more and been a lot more emotionally invested if I chose him the first time around (not to say I wasn't invested before, it still hurt, but by that time it was my 2nd playthrough so I knew what to expect)

ASUS supremacy. I have a two-year old Asus and aside from the battery (which has a life of about 10min), it still runs great. Can run Photoshop, Firefox, Skype, and usually some sort of Steam game without getting laggy *dreamy sigh*

 

But... no quad-core, so no beautiful screens of my Lavellan and Solas. Maybe one day XB1 will deliver on its promise of a screenshot feature.
