I'm probably the only one who will ever say this, but I actually really dislike Mythal's vallaslin. I went with Dirthamen's, which was a best-guess at the time I chose it. Choosing that particular god's markings made sense for my Lavellan as a character, and hey, it looks pretty neat too...

That's another one with a goatee-chin-bit. ;_; Otherwise, I like the forehead part - reminds me of a bird. Pretty cool for those who's Lavellan's identify with a bird of some kind.

I'm still reeling over my mom asking if Solas and Lavellan were "going to make elf babies" when I told her they were in a romance.  I nearly cried out loud right then and there ;___;

My one friend at work doesn't like Solas.  She doesn't understand why he appeals to me so much lol!  She said that his lack of a sex scene was frustrating and I'm like "there's soooo much room for headcanon that way!"  Plus, we get a butt stroke instead of a butt slap.  Come on now, that is glorious!

Between how emotional and ultimately, passionate, the first couple of romance scenes are, then the part in Crestwood, the butt caressing....hell, even the vallaslin removal is super intimate, IMO. Like, some people need to broaden their horizons a little bit and not be so binary in their thoughts to think of a sex scene as the end-all box to check for fulfillment.

 

Plus, as you say, headcanon!.

Random OT observation

I've noticed that a lot of people's elves have the Mythal markings, is that down to story or pure design?  I messed around in the CC when I first got the game and was like "Ooh, I like that!" so I planned it for my elf on the second playthrough.  I didn't even realise they were Mythal's markings until I saw Abelas xD

 

My grass appeared in a different place compared to that gif, weird indeed! As for my elf's markings, I picked Sylaise's symbol but I chose it for story reasons. Since its OT I'll put spoiler tags around her backstory .

When Numin was very young she was a bit of a crybaby and easily frightened, hence her name. The other elves were genuinely concerned that she would be the last one of the elven children to get her vallaslin (as you cannot cry during the process). One day she gets separated from her clan during a snowstorm. Somehow she manages to survive the night despite the cold and her clan track her down the next morning before it was too late. They heal her and ask her how she she was able to keep herself alive during that time. She tells them she prayed to Sylaise during the night to keep her warm and to bring her home. The clan notice immediately that the experience had changed her, she was no longer timid or fearful. Soon after, she catches up with the other elven children and even surpasses them as a hunter. When the time came years later, everyone in her clan assumed she would get Andruil's markings. The Keeper tells Numin that , while she certainly is a skilled hunter, it was Sylaise that gave her, her "fire". The fire that saved her life and the fire that made her strong and fearless. "Such a personal blessing" she said; "deserves to be honored"

 

What I like about this back story is how wonderfully it parallels the events that take place during Haven.When the Inquisitor gets separated during the Haven attack and has to walk through a snowstorm alone, I RP that she prays to Sylaise again to keep her warm and to bring her home. When she is reunited with the Inquisition, she accepts that it's the elven gods telling her that this is where she is meant to be. She no longer fights the Inquisition, as she had done before, choosing to lead it instead.

This, this. So much this. I for one am glad they left it up to each player to decide whether Solas and Lavellan ever went any further. Though to be honest, the scenes they already have are excellent and very passionate anyway. To me they were far more satisfying than any sex scene could have been. It feels like a deeper emotional and spiritual connection, which is beautiful.

Lmao! On this subject, I told my dad over lunch one day the story of solas and lavellan and his professional dad opinion was "sounds like its going to end on tears" LOL you heard it here first folks

I am tempted to change Yara's design to Dirthamen's. It is pretty...but I'll hold off. Got to wait and see if we end up going up against an elven god as a villain. Because I'll be making sure to use that design for her face if we do. 

 

If we do I would put my money on Falon'din or Andruil or both. Besides Fen'Harel and Mythal (both of whom we run into) these are the only gods we can get commentary about from Morrigan and/or Solas in the game, not to mention owls were linked to both of them and owls are everywhere in the game.
