Regarding the "how did elves loose immortality" discussion a few pages back, I wanted to share my own headcannon:

 

Warning to Falon'din/Dirthamen fans. I headcannon them as arses.

I headcannon that it is all Falon'din/Dirthamen's fault. Falon'din, in his efforts to make more people dependent on him and Dirthamen did a ritual to strip the lower castes of their immortality and magic, in the hopes of making all future generations turn to the god of death for longer life/mercy and the god of secrets for knowledge.

 

Mythal and Fen'harel tried to stop them. Mythal got killed for it. Fen'harel sealed the other gods away to protect them once he realized they where in danger. Then he tried sealing Falon'din and Dirthamen away even deeper, but this weakened his power leaving him unable to let the others return.

 

Now, from somewhere (deep in the fade?), they plot to come back. They tried with Trydda. They tried with Felassan. Next, they'll try with the Inquisitor...

 

I like headcannons. They make me happy.

On topic, here is a AU hobo Solas picture. It's a two parter story:

 

  You know, as funny as that is, I bet it's not all that far from how the Dalish clans would've viewed Solas popping up and trying to teach them things. Insane homeless man who thinks he's a god.

 

Part of me hopes we get DLC with rainbows and unicorns and Solas + Lavellan riding off into a non-apocalyptic sunset. The other part kinda hopes it'll be made very clear how in the world my favorite tea-hating, coattail-burning, fade nerd is the Dread Wolf. If Flemeth hadn't specifically called him by that name I'm not sure I would really have believed it.

 

I mean, I know age and circumstance change a person, but I just can't imagine Solas with that scary title, even in the past. Sure he wants to kill the mages after torturing his friend, but at least he ends them quickly. I was way more scared of Sera when she beat that noble to death.

 

Dread Wolf. I dunno, maybe in the future he'll start speaking in minor harmonics or something and I'll want to duck under the covers.
