Key of Haakon is a plot item and key in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening. It is one of the four keys needed to unlock the Avvar Deep Crypt in Vigil's Keep - Basement.

 

Acquisition Edit

Found in Vigil's Keep - Deep Roads under a locked trapdoor. The trapdoor is to the south of the "x" posting on the map that is called "The Deep Roads" in a small chamber.

 

Trivia Edit

The name of this item is apparently spelled incorrectly in-game. According to Kaddis of Hakkon Wintersbreath and Codex entry: The Avvars, the name of the god is Hakkon. This was likely an oversight by the writers.

Hakkon is the Korth's firstborn son, and Lord of Winter. He is master of the two bitter colds of frost and steel, and respect for him and his power leads the Avvars to follow him into battle: they prefer to raid and wage war in winter, when their resistance to the cold gives them the advantage over lowlanders.

Blackwall's personal quest was IMO one of the few strong points of his character.  So yes, I'd do it, at least to see the quest.  You can decide after you finish it if you really wanna go shard hunting for another ten hours 

 

The other day when I finally got my last shard, it was the best feeling ever.

 

Getting into the central chamber of Solasan comes up in Keep so I wonder if it will have any impact later.

Also, Solas, Cole, and Cass in the promo image? Wouldn't that have to imply that the DLC takes place prior to the game ending?

I'm having a hard time sitting still and breathing properly today.

Here's my big problem, guys.

Revas, my canon PT, is done. Post game. Solas left. I'm at about 140 hours. The last save (by accident) prior to end-game is about 80 hours in. I'm strongly considering going back into that 80 hour playthrough so I can finally get Blackwall's quest (which didn't load for me, since I never took Blackwall anywhere) and play it all week or whatever until this DLC is released- A week should be plenty of time to get back to the end without "ending" it. She's the only one I feel like playing.

Should I? Shouldn't I?

I have a feeling he's going to be a sort of token appearance to appease us, but I guess we'll see. I'm way more concerned with the overall story of the DLC than how Solas is going to fit into the plot. They'll throw in some quippy one liners and we'll all be happy.

Reading through some of the avaar stuff. Sounds like this is going to be a fun time. Giant bear gods, lords of winter. A lot of similarities to the elven pantheon.

 

I am hoping now that the secret is 'out' about Solas, we'll have the opportunity to see a lot more allusions or injokes to the fact that he's Fen'Harel.

I'm guessing if you do this post-game you're doing it without Solas. I wonder if anyone says anything on that or if you all just wander around ignoring the whole situation. I guess I could split my two canon runs into one with Solas before the end game and one without during post-game. I..I kinda wanna always have Solas though because I ran with him on the team in both of those games, he has all my shiniest gear...

 

Why am I putting more thought into this decision than I am important life issues? Damn it self, back out the thread and to work!

The elf, Dirthamen's vallaslin, treehouses [ancient elf stories say they lived in trees, so Solas says]... there is some connection between elves and Avvar.

 

There's parallels to be seen between the elven pantheon and the Avvar gods oh indeed. Tyrdda's LEAF-EARED lover is the LADY OF THE SKIES
