Spoiler

Oh god... I just lol'd really hard at that. I'm a bad bad person.

Who is? Not Garrus, not the entire Alliance...

Not Thane... :o

Thane actually does better than the others at doing his job. It's only getting to his son that he needs Shepard for, but when you meet him he gets the job done and in 3 he is somehow still alive and despite being on his last legs, still manages to accomplish more than most against the worlds worst bad guy.

But yeah, everyone else in that game was so freaking incompetent, not just Aria. I know people usually are in RPGS, but I feel like ME took it to all time highs.

.. although DA2 isn't too far behind. Oh, Kirkwall...

Yay. This shows used to scare the crap of me when I was little. Not as much as V ever did, but enough to have some nightmares.

7 year old Delphine was very impressionable, obviously.

(I don't know why, seeing human bodies being dismantled in anyway possible has never been an issue, but seeing an alien parasite taking control over people used to freak me out. It took me 20 years to watch Alien. And I still haven't watched X Files entirely to this day. But since Alien was okay, I guess I can try watching X Files again now, I'll be alright. I'M NOT SEVEN YEARS OLD ANYMORE.)

Scooby Doo used to scare me so badly my parents banned me from watching it. I don't get scared watching TV or movies, too manly for that.

I actually meant the part where he gets Kai Leng'd XD But yea, you get my gist. I don't know that they're incompetent... I just think Shepard's that badass. Garrus certainly isn't incompetent. He just needed a bit of help, both in ME 1 and 2, and 2... damn dude, lol :D Garrus is the man.

Okay, so I finished it.  Spoilerssss...

Thanks for that, this pretty much confirms that I'll be playing this pre-ending. I was debating that.

Of course, as a PS4 player, I have time to change my mind.

But... Scooby Doo. You're cute, I like you.

I just might. It's sitting in my Origin library, giving me the puppy eyes. I'M NOT SEVEN YEARS OLD ANYMORE.

Lol when you do, tell me your reaction after about 2 or 3 levels in. I'm replaying it myself for nostalgia.

Which point in the game did you start?  Pre or Post breakup?

I went in pre-break up.  There were mentions by NPCs of in-game story decisions, like what happened with Gaspard, but nothing big enough where I think it matters when/where you start playing...except post-game, of course, where I assume Solas is unavailable?

Oh!  And as a quest reward I totally got a tier 4 battlemage armor schematic (FINALLY) for Solas' promotional armor.  Now he looks all snazzy and sh!t before he breaks my heart and runs off with my gear.  /smiles through the tears/

Awesome.

My save options were post breakup with a couple hours of work post game or pre-breakup with about 60 hours till end of game. Normally I wouldn't put myself through that torture but I was trying to hear all of the different breakup dialogues that various other characters offered.

Basically Cassandra was a holdout...

So I'll be booting up post breakup...

Bring Sera for approval. Spend DLC gaining disapproval.

Sera, why you got to be like this. I can't help that I attract this nonsense.

But I have nine other lady Lavellan, all for Solas (gods help me)...but they're still in the beginning of the game...

Okay, you know you're too deep when you read a  NatGeo article about a friendly wolf in Alaska and your mind goes to Solas. If you need me I'll be in the trash.

Guys. I am barely resisting my intense desire to click on the spoiler tags and devour the text hidden below. Hhnng. I don't know if I'm strong enough for this. *sweats*

But I wanted to say: thank you for continuing to post DLC stuff under spoiler tags, all. You're a bunch of good eggs. <3

Blah blah blah chapter 3 of the thing is done.

I think I'm getting /slightly/ better at getting Solas' voice?

Anyone else getting this really annoying glitch where if you use something like an astarium or the shard skulls you can't see your HUD display (your health and skills) and the start button doesn't bring up the menu...its uber annoying....

Edit: Also you can't click on things like ladders and such because the actions option doesn't show up either...

It doesn't matter much tbh, the companions don't really say much. I would bring Solas and Cole maybe, there are a couple of conversations about spirits.

The Avvar religion focuses a lot on spirits, and you interact with a few.  Cole and Solas had a lot to say about it, and Iron Bull gave me a few *slightly disapproves*.  I would think Dorian would be good, too, since Tevinter ruins are all over the place.

On the topic of being easily scared (I'm actually pretty brave, I swear; I just have strong emotional responses--thanks, brain!), my husband bought Bloodborne last night, and I flat out screamed and started so bad I dropped my phone when this big, axe wielding bastard flew towards him out of nowhere and struck him with a one hit KO from behind. My reaction made him jump so hard. It was hilarious. I thought it best I leave the room.

Seconding this question. I was thinking Cassandra, Solas, Sera. Or maybe Dorian instead of Sera.

I went with Solas, Blackwall and Sera. Blackwall and Sera had a discussion about the weather at one point and Sera complained about magic and spirits, as you would expect. Dorian/Solas/Cole or Cole/Solas/Cass is probably best imo. Maybe Vivienne would poke fun at the Avaar barbarians, you could try her. :P

I don't wanna have to go back to a pre-ending save to play the DLC, but then I wanna do it with Solas as well.

It's my completionist save, and I've done a lot of completion after the ending, I don't feel like doing it again, I'm too lazy.

I'm glad to see another update. Also, don't worry too much about "action" (as per the note at the top). There's a lot of strength in the more reflective and quieter moments, like the ones in chapter 2, which were very moving and thought-provoking. Also, her background and worries are integral to the tale you're telling. The structure works well so far, and I do think the voice is flowing.

Keep us posted.
