Woah, woah, so just ran into something pretty cool. This is minor DLC spoilers, but possibly some pretty huge lore stuff? I didn't closely read all the spoiler posts so maybe this has been mentioned.

Geldauran's Claim:

Geldauran is one of the forgotten ones. This is found in a crypt in the new DLC.

It is attached to this rune. I don't know if it is a reused asset, or if it holds any relevance.

Whoa!  This sounds like ontological materialism to me and it sounds like Solas's creed "Cause and effect...", which could strongly indicate that he was one of the forgotten ones, perhaps the most tractable... 

 

I am wondering whether we have a Eloi/Morlock situation here... I.e. elite, pantheon, labouring underclass, forgotten ones... The underclass always live underground (see Metropolis...) and they were the first to come into contact with red lyrium and then ensured that the pantheon were also contaminated.

Solas, Dorian, and Cass have been my go-to team for the harder fights so far.  Enemies in this area seem to go for the zerg swarm strategy.  So Pull of the Abyss + 2x Fire Mine has been working pretty well thus far.  My archer Lavellan picks off lone guys.

 

I switched Cole out for Dorian and we've been doing much better. Still haven't tried that one rift that wiped us again just yet. I just had Cole around from last time and people suggested bringing him for his reactions.

 

Quitting to get some sleep, but to be continued.

I have spent literally all of my waking hours today playing the DLC and I'm still not done.    I'll wait until I've finished the main quest to really decide my feelings on it, but so far it has been worth the money. It's not what I'd have preferred, since it doesn't seem to be heavy on story and companion interaction, but I am pleasantly surprised anyway. It's a good holdover until the SUPER MASSIVE STORY DLC WITH LOTS OF COMPANION DIALOGUE AND STORY STUFF comes out, right BioWare? We are getting that too, right? Good.

 

I've only played for a few hours but so far this  is exactly how I feel about it.  The story heavy stuff was always going to come later and I'm really enjoying how hard it is (I'm not playing on nightmare though, just on hard).  I h ad reloaded a pre-temple of mythal save with a pretty high level DW solasmance Lavellan, who had killed all but one of the dragons, had the best weapons and armor I've ever crafted with the best runes I could craft and fights have gone from easyish to hard - made me laugh although I don't know why ... need to go and get things done in RL so I can play some more

Sorry for your loss. This is why I haven't touched mods in DAI. Not-mod-friendly engine is bound to cause issues, especially since Bioware doesn't even have a handle on bugs in its own patches.

So, my sister just pointed me to an article on Kotaku regarding timed exclusivity and Jaws of Hakkon.

 

Being a PS3 owner, this line concerns me:

 

It's safe to assume that Jaws of Hakkon will come to PS4 eventually, but EA won't say when. (There's no word as to whether we'll see this DLC on the PS3 and Xbox 360 at all, but at this point it's more than reasonable for publishers to ditch last-gen consoles.)

Don't despair just yet, that's just the author speculating.

I think they pretty much committed themselves as far as the DLC is concerned for last gen when they released, so I think you're safe. DA4 will definitely ditch last gen though.

Mmmh, I completed the rifts in the map but I don't remember a rift with 3 Pride demons ? I think my max was 2 Pride demons? I may have missed them while they killed it though, not sure..

Yeah, I too have Cole, Cass and Solas, but Cole does seem made of paper, even with the new tier 4 armor xD Those Avvar hit hard.. and my god that Ice Giant was a pain in the ass! And it was the 2nd monster I found in the map!! Got me quite scared! Thank god the other Fade Touched creatures were quite weak..
I'm wondering if I should switch Cole out.. but he's my baby (( would Cole Solas Dorian work? Tbh Cass has been quite silent, Cole and Solas have had the occasional things to say.. and she even got pissed when I watched the Avvar prayer -.-

I'm getting my tattoo today!

 

I am certain I am changing ideas though, I talked it over with my brother and I think it'll be too hard to do it how I want it, so we're going to go with something simpler but still fairly subtle.  We're going to go with one of the astrarium constellations.

I'm going to do the star pattern, like above, (obviously without the numbers though) not the shape, so it looks like a constellation, not like the wolf. But I think it's fitting.

I know Nikki is having a rough time at that level. Even turned down to easy she's getting beat. Hell I'm level 23 - it's not AS bad but you have to be careful how much you pull. I really recommend doing it before the end of the game so you have Solas' res and barriers.

The AI for DW is particularly dumb I think for higher difficulty Cole has to be spec-d as an archer.

 

I might send an email to EA, I'm less bothered about when JOH will be available then if.

Yoou will be fine. I went in with a level 16 (and am now lvl 19...Adamant and the Winter palace really will be a faceroll ). There has been only one boss, so far, that I had to ditch on. And it should be noted, I am only playing on Normal.
