I'm level 20 and I run from rifts.
One of my roommates started laughing at me at one point because all they knew is I was real quiet for most of the DLC and then at one point I rounded a corner and there was a rift in my face, I was not prepared, so I ran off. RL out of the long stretch of silence I went, "Oh hell no. Nope. How about no. Have you considered 'no'? Because I have."
Alleyana was level 24 when I started the DLC. Those rifts stung on Nightmare.

Regarding the pantheon - most people assume that's who Cole is taking about and they are locked behind eluvians. I don't think the foci was the key - necessarily - it just held the power which was the actual key...which is now in the Quizzy's hand. You know how he's all 'im sleepy! i have no power' to flemeth in the epilogue and then sucks her dry...it's because he his was stored in the orb.
Simple is usually best. Simple is usually right. I doubt it will be all that insanely complicated once he explains everything.
Its interesting that he says that they're hiding.
My personal theory is that the elven gods are trapped behind a mirror...currently in the heart of the black city, which was once Arlathan. The only way to reach the black city is to get yourself physically there in the fade...which is exactly what the Inquisitor's powers do, and what Corypheus was trying to accomplish most of the game.

Solas locked away June out of jealousy. June invented Connect 4, monopoly and operation, and once a year he would fly across Elvhenan on a sleigh pulled by griffons, delivering these games to the poor and needy. Solas who was leading the poor and needy in rebellion got jelly that they liked June better than him, and trapped him in an Eluvian. Ruining June day forever, but its okay just like a phoenix June will rise again, bringing love and joy to Thedas.
What I'm trying to say is that Solas is the Grinch.
I know Nikki is having a rough time at that level. Even turned down to easy she's getting beat. Hell I'm level 23 - it's not AS bad but you have to be careful how much you pull. I really recommend doing it before the end of the game so you have Solas' res and barriers.
This is a save before the Amulet of Power thing got patched. I'll take Vivienne and have her solo everything. I think she's got a maxed KE, Spirit, Frost and Fire tree.

I need this to be real. I need June to be REAL and wonderful.
I was a knight enchanter, started around level 22 and ended up level 25 by the end of it. No serious problems, but enemies were a bit tedious to kill at times. Even the spiders have a decent amount of HP on them. Groups of the Hakkonites can occasionally be brutal. Poor Cole and Sera got shredded on numerous occasions.
Party setup was Blackwall, Sera/Cole, Solas [barriers], and Lavellan-KE with fade step.

I would assume they'll nose their way in much like they do with everything else. I think it'll be by accident. You're investigating "weirdness" and Solas happens to be at the center of it or part of it. I don't think Solas' master plan is going to go very well...just looking at his track record. It'll probably be a more 'whoops, done fucked up again' situation. I think it's going to be a **** show and it's going to amp up the emo to 1000.

Solas: no Inquisitor leave I am trying to do the thing
Inquisitor: no, don't do the thing
Solas: i accidentally did the thing
Elven gods: now i am back and evil
Solas: i could not have forseen this chain of events
Inquisitor: /saves the day
Solas: [option of sealing up with the rest of the elven gods for being a nuisance or letting go free]
Inquisitor: the day is saved.

Why June? Mythal has always been my personal favorite
You must be new here. God how do I explain this...um...so a few of us on here have embraced our own idea of the pantheon as wildly steeped in excess and glitter. The glitter part is mostly fun but there's been some geniunely interesting parallels made to ancient greece/rome with them.
Anyways, June is largely theorized to NOT be an elf. If you read his codexes it sounds like he's a dwarf. Thus being small, round, cheerful and wonderful. He's the glamour toad. He's the best.
If so, what the hell is the point of being able to play as an elf other than to depress yourself? Solas' romance seems to tie into this in a big way.
According to PW - the romance was nothing more than a way for the player to connect with Solas better. He was worried Solas would come off as too much of a villain. With the romance, you see that he really cares for these people. He cares for the Inquisitor and now his friendships with the companions are seen as sincere. That's all it was supposed to do.
The romance adds some icing. The lore stuff - if you care - will add some extra "umph". That's all. And that's actually the driving force for a lot of people. For me...I think no matter what race I'd play it's all interesting. If anything this DLC has taught me everything is sort of connected and it's going to mean something to everybody.

We don't, but Solas implies as much. In the AU he laments:
