Pros :
- So many new characters to fangirl on. Between Thane Svarah Sun-Hair, Professor Kenric, and so many others I didn't remember the name of because I'm trash, but I love them anyways. Really, they made a huge effort on giving us lovable NPCs to care for, and I enjoyed that.
- Storvacker the Bear, best bear. Kinda disappointed to not see her in Skyhold gardens, but I guess some people wouldn't be too happy to see her around.
- Tiny Nug, cutest nug.
- The prayer or Runa and the spirit thingy
- The beautiful setting and landscapes, varied and yet cohesive. Amazing work on that, too many sparkles in my eyes right now.
- The story of Ameridan and Telana. Ugh, yes for heartbreaking stories. I wanna see/read more about them, so bad.
- The bits of lore discovered (HELLO GELDAURAN AND RAZIKALE!)
- And the overall Avvar lore. I really had no idea what I was going into with them, but I think I really love their lore and culture a lot now. They rock.
- Tevinter ruins, even though they heavily stole their ideas from the elves, but who is surprised by that now?
- More Scout Harding. Yes for more of her, always anytime of the day.
- Tree houses, Trees and everything leafy.
- Sigrid and her spirit. I can't help but love HumanxSpirit relationships.
- Scout Grandin, that I let go on his killing/revenge rampage. Not sure I should have but oh well, the spirit only stays in his body because he actually wants to, so I couldn't convince myself to do anything but let him live.
- The Avvar Augur and anything related to spirits, really. I love spirits.
- Colette, the elf in the University of Orlais, fuck yeah.
- Great items and schematics, boooyah! I need to craft new stuff now.
Cons :
- We can't take the nub back to skyhold and adopt him as official Inquisitor's pet. Worst DLC ever.
- The entire area remains in the night, even if the final quest is finished. I mean, I like Frostback Basin in night lights, but I really love it a thousand times more during day light. Sooooo much prettier. So now it's stuck in night lights mode, and I'm like "But I want the sun!".
- Too little real cutscenes. But many dialogs, so that's kinda ok. But still, more cutscenes would have been way better.
- Cassandra disapproving me because I like spirits (demons included), and always decide to help/not kill/respect spirits. CASSANDRA GURL, YOU'RE DISAPPOINTING ME, SPIRITS ARE YOUR FRIENDS.
There, I think that'd be all. Welp, I really loved it. I was hooked from beginning to the end, maybe because I was too happy to be back in DA:I to do something new and exciting, but really, I think it's a pretty decent DLC, even if there was no real Solas content to speak of. The main story was entertaining, and makes me wanna know so much more about the first Inquisition. And I didn't have any "bored" moments either, which has sometimes been the case in other areas, even if rarely.
Oh, and best moment of this DLC:
Anyways... Yeah.
Now I'm gonna headcanon Lavellan riding Storvacker everywhere she'll go.
