Yeah, I didn't take that specifically as suggesting, "I can't wait to bust out the handcuffs," but y'know.

I think there seems to be some general misunderstanding around the mage-specific flirt Solas dishes out. When he says "I have yet to see it dominated. I imagine the sight would be... fascinating", I think he's using the word dominated to mean something akin to overcome, rather than anything overtly sexual, or to do with BSDM or something. Hahah.
So to be fascinated by Lavellan's indomitable focus being dominated would mean Solas is suggesting he's enjoying the thought of something/someone capturing her attention so entirely as to witness her distracted/enraptured response (with him, presumably). I could be wrong, but that's my take on it.
Oh Solas, you smooth egg, you.
Yes, I always thought it was more on capturing her attention as well. Though the way he says the mage flirt line sounded very... sexual. ![]()
Dammit Solas, why you so smooth and unassuming?

I can't actually think of another game I've played that's had the option to be an elf outside of Dragon Age! Hrm. Oh! Skyrim. Yeah, I picked an elf for Skyrim.
Thanks for the reminder. I wonder if subconsciously I got on-board with the Solas business because my wood elf couldn't marry Faendal in Skyrim.
My elf's still getting screwed over by game devs!
I always play an elf first when I can. I play a human 24/7 IRL. That's plenty for me. My first and canon Origins play through was a city elf. I actually don't like the Dalish...so smug and superior. Solas can talk trash about the Dalish all he wants as far as I'm concerned.

That's how I see it too, though you can read it both ways, even both ways at the same time.
Still, in all of those flirts he's definitely smooth. Even the warrior one - he's obviously been looking you over.
Definitely! And I don't mean to take away from anyone who prefers to headcanon that Solas literally means,"Hey babes, I'd love to tie you up *wink*", cuz' yeah. It does ultimately come down to interpretation--unless Patrick Weekes says otherwise, I suppose.
Wouldn't it be the best ever if we had the option to choose from a set of responses for flirts? Like, when Solas compliments a warrior Lavellan's muscles, she could either be like "YEAH LOOK HOW STRONG I AM" and pick Solas up, or say something about getting him tickets to the gun show while she kisses her biceps emphatically.

That flirt line we've been discussing and other things. I have come to realize that I may say things like I dislike baldness but I don't really have a 'type'. I just fall for people, and Solas is a good example of a person (fictional, alas) I might not take a look at otherwise becoming just so attractive.
What the line hinted at to me, and we later got confirmation of, was that something ran hot underneath the calm demeanor. And that....that smoothness, well I wanted more. That's what drew me in more than anything.

I've never gotten more than 5hrs into Skyrim. It is my great shame.
I frigging love the Dalish. For some of the same reasons you listed as negatives, in fact. ;D It makes them rather relatable and so very human, in all their flawed tragedy. I do love a good group of **** ups. Like our Lord of the **** Ups, Solas.
And, gyah! Out of likes. Capricorn, I like your post. :3

Yeah, I didn't mean to insult any bald people. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. Personally I find the most attractive person in the world (or Thedas as the case may be) is the person one is in love with...short, tall, skinny, plus sized, hairy, or bald it doesn't matter.
That's what was great about Solas. I didn't see him and think, "Gee I want my character to romance him." It just sort of happened because of who his character is. That's good writing, character design, and voice acting. I hope to see more of that in future.

He had me at the conversation about spirits when my Lavellan tells him he has an interesting view of things. He replies with "I try. But that isn't quite an answer." And she says she looks forward to see him make new friends. He says "That will be...well." And she says that isn't quite an answer either.
I dunno. I felt like they were dancing around each other, trying to get a feel for the other. It was cute.

This is so true for me. He wasn't attractive to me at first, not like Cullen or Dorian were. It was his personality and mind. I was impressed.
Same for me. I didn't find him ugly when he was first revealed but he wasn't the one I had in mind to romance when I first played DAI either. xD (I wanted Cullen or Blackwall.) Then that silly egg won me over with his smooth lines, his intelligence, and his intriguing personality. Also... Fade tongue. *cough*

Considering the game's epilogue, drinking from the Well pretty much means that Solas will become your Master.
Kinky. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Exactly. Which is why I decided to reload and drink from it myself.
Took this screenshot today of an Evil Solas. He's definitely my master.

LOL I don't know, guys... when Solas said that domination line all I could think of was, "daaaamn boy, you're smoother than your head" lolol
I didn't have any spoilers when I started the game, but I knew Solas was a romance interest for female elves so I thought his body language and stuff at the start of the game was because he was crushing on her since checking out her Anchor.
We all know that wasn't all you were checking out, you smooth jerk.

Right. I just sort of noticed a pattern that applies both to real life and games. If there's a romance option, I just go with whoever I'm drawn to (and if that person is a possibility), regardless of looks, gender, etc. I went in like that to DAI, but was still surprised by how strongly I was drawn to Solas.

Not necessarily. After the ending, you can find a servant in Val Royeaux talking about a woman calling herself Mythal in his dreams. Based on the notes people found, it's very likely that this is now Morrigan, meaning either Morrigan answers to herself if she drank....AKA she's free, or the Inquisitor is serving Mythal AKA Morrigan.

Do you only hear that conversation AFTER the ending? I never thought of it being Morrigan with Mythal's essence (or spirit or whatever).
EDIT: I didn't realize... How did this get top of the page?!

Oh. I didn't find that servant. But yeah, I read that note about Flemeth wanting to pass her godhood to Morrigan but I thought it only came to pass if she, herself, drank from the well.

I didn't go find that servant on my post-game save (I loaded up a pre-end save and began playing on it to tie up loose ends since I wanted Solas with me) but I had Morrigan drink. I believe that conversation happens regardless.

Ah, I checked the person's Youtube channel and she said, "This banter can still be heard before the end of the game! I got it to trigger After the Temple of Mythal, but before the end. Still, very interesting!"
So it could be very well be Flemythal that the elf heard in his dreams.
