I basically only wear comic/band/gaming shirts.

My personal style is a mix of extremely geeky shirts (Anime/TV shows/Movies/Games) and black&white chic/girly patterned blouses/clothes (usually skirts and tights to go with the blouses).

One day I look like I'm on my way to Comic Con, the next like I'm on my way to a fashion show in Paris.

I like to be in contrast with myself, just to keep people on their toes.

It's sad that it had to be said, but I'm glad he clarified...AGAIN...that the romance is secondary to his character(which is how it should be).  Also, i never felt manipulated.  I believed he was sincere.  Dude was distraught when he dumped me. IT was clear he didn't want to.  Was I happy about it, no, but still.  The guy was an emo mess at the end.  So double yest to "hurt and resentful shouldnt be confused with violated or used".

I have to agree. He tells Lavellan - if you do the sad break up - that what the two of you had was real. He did fall for her, and I believe, was committed to that relationship. He didn't intend to break up with her until that very moment. If you watch the scene closely, after the kiss, he pulls away and his face changes. That's the moment, I'm sure, when the decision comes to him and he realizes - for whatever reasons - he has to let go.

To have used her, he would have had to be planning to leave the whole time. And I don't believe that was the case.

Not sure if anyone's posted this yet, from the Kotaku Q&A:

Q: ...Anywho, I'm sure my question's been asked and maybe answered, but it's about that ending scene. Mainly about how it's going to be approached - is there going to be DLC like with Witch Hunt? Or is it something you're going to leave open for the next game?

Mark Darrah: 'Both? We will tie up some (but not all) loose ends'

So we'll get some answers in Wolf Hunt, just not all from the sound of things.

I wonder which loose ends they'll tie up.  It seems to me the biggest loose end at the moment is the Inquisitor.  Or rather, the Anchor that is permanently attached to the Inquisitor.

I did see that.  So there is a lot. Does that mean more plans for Solas?  More Inquisitor having to deal with Solas?  Or more plans for Mythal/Flemeth? The romance arc?

I really really don't want to wait several years to have the romance arc completed or at least sitting somewhere comfortably where I can just deal.

My style is somewhere between Land's End and Wal Mart. I keep people guessing whether I'm a hick or... no, pretty much a lock that I'm a hick.

I do have one geeky t-shirt, from ThinkGeek, all black with the inscription "I see the assassins have failed." The looks I get in Home Depot are priceless. Oh, and I've got a House Stark t-shirt. That's gotten me geeky high-fives in airports.

On the DLC: Any speculation as to whether we'll be getting one or two more? I really just want the Solas DLC already. Let's get it over with.

Finally finished the DLC and oh god, oh god I love it so much. The Avvar are my favorite humans now. And all that lore, and everything about the Inquisitor *sigh*.

I missed a deadline. It was worth it.

I like your Walmart chic.  I respect the comfort.  I have a few geeky shirts - I splurged and bought The Venture Bros. t-shirt of the month(SO WORTH IT).  Other than that I'm Old Navy shirts and jeans and tennis shoes.  My goal is to optimize comfort, not try to impress anybody.

DLC: I think several.  They are seeing how this one does - FYI I recommend getting this one, it is well done - and then they will decide.  I think they planned for several story and several explorable areas(like this DLC) where the story is woven into the map.  So I imagine the story DLC will be stuff that takes place AFTER the epilogue and is likely instanced much like the main missions on the war table.

I wonder if that means the inquisitor would not play a big part in the future events set in motion by Solas (and Mythal), since they will be extended into the next game.

Given my Lavellan's romance with Solas and her anchor from him, I truly wish she will be given not just answers, but also a choice to act.

I always got this Merlin/Nimue vibe from Solas' relationship with a younger Lavellan.  I love his intelligence and that fiery passion burning underneath his calm exterior.  I totally have a thing for the professor type and he definitely fills that ahaha

But Solas really is that mentor type to the Inquisitor regardless of who they are, especially at the start of the game, and he immediately made me think of him as the Obi Wan of the game XD  But that initial mentorship kind of lessens after Skyhold when the Inquisitor comes into their own.  I kind of felt that Solas' role started to diminish after reaching Skyhold too.  He's really not as... involved, I suppose?  Leliana, Josephine, Cullen, and Cassandra seem to be far more involved in the ongoing plot, at least it seemed so to me.  Solas kind of went into the background, probably on purpose.

I suppose it depends on just how committed the devs are to using a new protagonist in each game.  Regardless the Anchor is going to have to be dealt with.  Which means the devs will have to deal with the Inquisitor in some way - either by somehow removing the Anchor yet leaving the Inquisitor intact, removing the Anchor and killing the Inquisitor, having the Inquisitor "disappear" in some manner similar to the warden or the previous Inquisitor or even having the Inquisitor carry over as the character in the next game.

I just have this feeling that the Anchor is going to be really important.

You are right now that I think about it. He does seem to kind of slip quietly into the background after reaching Skyhold.

This game just has too many problems for me. If I'm honest, I don't enjoy playing it. Started to realize over subsequent playthroughs that I really only play for Solas and Solavellan. I did like the new elven lore, for the most part, and I'm looking forward to volume 2 of World of Thedas. But at this point it's Solas content or you don't get my money. I did feel like I got my money's worth out of DAI, unlike DA2, so not bitter, but it's definitely not DAO.

Oh, and comfort rules. I do spend good money on shoes but again that's for comfort, not style.

Time for an art break. :)

Beautiful WIP Solavellan artwork by swevenfox. Based on Gustav Klimt's "The Kiss".

Lavellan and the Dread Wolf. (I love this one.)

Pretty funny.

Solas isn't here, but it's Solavellan related. :( By osatokun.

Pretty sure it was said somewhere that they meant for hawke to be the next Shepherd... But there wasn't enough positive feedback. Pretty sure this time around the Inquisitor is going to be the main protagonist for the next while. They had intended for one main character since after origins.

Have to agree with you there. Started two Trevelyan playthrough and could finish neither. Playing as another race just doesn't feel the same connections with the elven contents or Solas...

"Intended for one main character since after origin"???? from what source?

Didn't they say they want a new protagonist for every game?

I would definitely welcome playing as the inquisitor again for DA4!!

(like Anora, Bianca, Fiona, etc.) are female. Sad. :(

Anora, Bianca, Fiona, Sera, Vivienne, Leliana even... I don't know about you guys, but I see a pattern here ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

People like to hate on strong females having their own personal agencies and not prioritizing others over themselves, I guess.

I don't think it's deliberate sexism.  It's just society teaches us that the type of traits Fiona has are good in a man, but bad in a woman.  And there a lot of male characters who screw up far, far worse than Bianca and Fiona who don't get nearly as much hate and have fandoms that justify everything they do. *cough*Anders*cough*

I know it's sexism, I just think it's sexism that comes from how society teaches us to think, rather than someone thinking 'today I'm going to be a sexist jerk.'  If that makes sense.  Sorry if it doesn't.  Seemed clearer in my head.

Sexism always and ONLY comes from society's conditioning, and as such, there can't be a "real" or "false" sexism. If society teaches us that the type of traits Fiona has are good in a man but bad in a woman, then it is the basic definition of sexism. Internalized sexism is one of the most dangerous type, in its most subtle forms, really harmful as hell. The worst type of sexist people to argue with, while being a feminist, is never the kind who are like "today I'm going to be a sexist jerk", but always, ALWAYS the type who are like "I'm a feminist, but", or "I think women should be equal but".

False friends to feminism are a billion times worse than openly jerky opponents to it.

Same here. You don't just drop an Andraste figure and not carry the story at least a bit. Andraste's story didn't end until she burned at the stake.

If they are going to continue the Solas thing into the next game (instead of DLC) then yes, I agree. Otherwise I'm pretty ok so long as Lavellan disappears mysteriously with Solas.

I don't have a source unfortunately. But I remember other people bringing it up. I hope they stick to one. It'll make things a lot easier for everybody. Cause I'm sure writing new characters costs a lot of money and time. And then we as players would have to make new people every time.

Like assassins creed...Ezio was an amazing character and I enjoyed all of his games. With the exception of black flag (cause that game was awesome) all the ones after sucked. They invest less and less into the characters each time and it shows.

Also to keep the inquisitor makes the most sense anyways. How could they "mysteriously disappear" like the others...they have the anchor which hasn't been dealt with and the inquisition can't just stop either. Its a huge super power now. Its not going anywhere any time soon.

The DLC did a much better job weaving the story into the zone.  When compared with the rest of the game...you see how hard BW failed at doing that the first time.  I had such a ball doing those quests. I wish the whole game was like it.  I wasn't even really like 'oh solas mance why haven't you been resolved??'.  The Avvar are great.  That whole main quest line with the first Inquisitor was amazing.  WORTH IT.

Without the DLC - I have to agree though. I would have a tough time making myself play through HOURS of content without the Solasmance. As much as I hate to say it, the romances spice things up.  It's unfortunate the other options are so 'bleh'.   My poor lady trev, the story I built with her for her crack ship is so much better and more interesting.  She deserved better.

I don't agree though that only elves can get maximum feels out of the lore. This DLC showed that whatever happens and whatever did happen will effect everybody. Everybody should care and you're given a reason to care as the Inquisitor. It may add some 'umph' being an elf, but I don't think that was the intent.  I have stake in what happens next not because I'm lavellan, but because I'm the Inquisitor.
