I don't think I really had a nickname when I was growing up (I sure as hell won't count the ones from bullies). However, I am still called Karm by my old guild mate friends from my WoW days, as this was the name of my very first character (which I played for years). And I have no issue with it, as I really grew to love the name.

As for Varric's nickname for Solas, I wonder if it'll come completely out of left field. We all think it'll be "Sleepy" or "Baldy" but it'll turn out to be something totally different 
Blackwall Blackwall Blackwall. Poor Blackwall fans. Honestly, if I had to choose between a showcase of Solas or a showcase of Blackwall, I'd choose Blackwall right now. His fan deserve it and heck I want to know more about the guy too.

But I like Solas now, so I'm glad that he at least got something with the GDL Twitter day. Cole fans have had little info, but they at least have a whole book about him and know his VA.
Blackwall has nothing. His character interview is just so vague. No idea what his personality is like, don't even know his VA let alone even heard his voice, and he had 1 and 1/2 seconds of screen time in the gameplay vid (one second of which he was dead on the ground, no action shots or anything.)
He gets no love, and most everyone thinks he's boring simply because there is no info.

Guys, I can picture the first time we see Solas in-game in a video before the release date.
The Inquisitor is deciding their party and chooses to bring Solas along. Then we have a view of all the party members coming around the corner and the last one left to arrive is Solas. But who rounds the corner other than.....
Vivienne.
She's like "it's alright, I know you made a mistake when you said Solas. My company is much more important and appreciated." And Inquisitor's like "you're right, what was I thinking? Let's go, Vivienne!"
And thus, Solas is never seen in action.

I just had an awesome flashback of when I was little and my dad would let me watch him play Neverwinter Nights. It's funny - I only just made the connection that it was a Bioware game. And I just realized that I was such a completionist even at the age of five.

Anyway, I think if Solas is going to be race-gated LI, then it would be against dwarves since they don't dream. I have a feeling he won't be gated, though, assuming he is an LI. And if he is an ungated LI, honestly, I think I'll go and romance him with every race, because why not?

So I had to look for something different, I got a place for a free social year at a school for disabled children
It was honestly the best year of my life, I've learned so much about life, working with these beautiful kids
But what helped me the most was one girl in particular, she's mute and always carries a diary with her, so that she can write down all of the things that happened to her for her parents to read
And she really wrote down everything, the good things and the bad things
One day we went shopping to the supermarket, and some kids made fun of her, really disgusting stuff, because she looks a little different
When we came back to school, she wrote what happened into her diary, and my friend asked her "Why would you write something like that down?"
And the girl wrote "Because everything that happens to me makes me into who I am. And I like myself the way I am"
All my life I'll never forget these words, and even when something bad happens to me I think of them
Everything that happens to us makes us into who we are, I hope it helps you too

I wasn't really all that excited about DA:I until I saw Solas's interview but I've been making grabby hands ever since. I'm entirely too excited to drag him everywhere in the game and hear everything he has to say about everything.

Sooo I've been lurking in this thread for some time and finally decided to post a bit and say hi. Also saying that you all are amazing and it's been encouraging seeing people talk and share stories about themselves without other people bashing them or the thread turning sour. So you all rock!
Looking forward to that interview and here's hoping that Solas will be a LI!! I've got a character already in mind that I want to be my first play through, a Qunari rogue, and it would be amazing if he was available.

Oh my gosh. I'm so late in doing this, but I've been so lost for words today. I thought my post would go unnoticed and ignored, like I often do irl. But it didn't, and omg words are still eluding me. I just want to thank everyone on the Solas Thread for creating a positive and loving atmosphere that allows people to share stories and opinions, of sometimes personal natures, and not receive negative backlash and hate. I hold this thread with the same high regard and respect that hold all of my close friends. And, all of you are complete strangers to me. Just thank you. You are all uniquely wonderful people, special in your own way. Now that's off my chest, I can focus on the reason why such an awesome place exists. And now, I don't have to fangirl about Solas to myself anymore. I can share it with all of you. If that's okay. I hope it's okay.
