Not nefarious or evil, but grey. Still, I do think Solas fans need to be prepared for the possibility (stress on possibility) that his plans might not be the best for Thedas as a whole.
Flemeth isn't evil or nefarious either. Untrustworthy to be sure. She just had her own agenda.
I'm sure how public the break up is, at least at first. I mean, for me, when a break up has happened, I don't like to publize it because everyone sort of jumps on you and wants to know what happened and if everything is okay and that's way too much for me because at the beginning I just want to be alone.

Solas was not a mentor to my Lavellan.
I don't want Lavellan to have to mysteriously disappear with Solas, tbh I think his plans probably need to be stopped.
While I agree with that on some level, I think my Lavellan would join him. If not from a desire to free the elven gods, then at least to go with him and try and stop him from doing anything that might endanger himself.

I have to share a worry that has been bothering me since the first time I saw the icon for the Rift Mage specialization. What if Solas' appearance is a complete fabrication? What if his real appearance is repulsive, as in illithid repulsive? Would that kill the romance for y'all?
Don't get me wrong, as a player I would welcome an illithid like race to the DA franchise, they're the ultimate bad guys, nearly impossible to defeat, but I don't want to make out with one. The illithid as a race are a horror, easily the scariest creatures in the D&D universe, for me anyway, and the thought of Solas being one of them is very disturbing. I really hope I'm just seeing connections where there are none. Anyway, just wondering if I'm the only crazy that has thought of this?

i think his current appearance is his true one ... he's probably a vessel for Fen'Harel so not some sort of mutated creature. If anything he can transform into some mutation of a wolf.

But more likely he's just an elf. The only other possibility at this point would be some sort of greater spirit like Cole- and its unlikely they actually have a 'true' form. Demons and spirits likely appear as something for our benefit, not theirs.

I think the wolf has to be his primary form but I also think his elven form is pretty integral to his persona...

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I mean, Dorian isn't some cow skull, right? And he's unlikely to turn out to be some creature with the head of a cow skull.

Speaking of Solas dialogue responses... one of the ones I always find interesting is after the Winter Palace when he says he's missed political intrigue. And when you ask him when the last time he was involved in such, he disapproves - one of the only times he doesn't like you being inquisitive because "OMG! Too close to the truth!"

Yep, this one is great too. I didn't take it on my first/canon playthrough (I chose "glad you enjoyed it"), but I will on my second Lavellan. It's too good to pass up.
