Ariane for DA4.  She's Dalish without Velanna's anti-shem attitude or Merrill's Merrillness.  She's also fun, a warrior (which would make a change from mages and rogues we mostly get.  Fenris needs company in the warrior corner) and her relationship with Finn is adorable.

Yeah I did like Ariane, for the little we got of her. Good call.

As for Solas' plans being nefarious, if anyone could convince me to go to the dark side, it'd probably be Flemeth tbh. I trust her long-term planning more than Solas'.

that said, my inquisitor never signed on to be andraste's blessed paragon of goodness, she just sort of fell ass backwards out of a hole and was carried along on cassandra's coat tails.

 

The elves have been in mortal peril for centuries, but as soon as human faith is threatened all of a sudden all these resources open up and suddenly no obstacle is insurmountable. as long as it's to restore the status quo.

 

so yeah i put in my time being good, i'm ready for the crazy train. besides the meta knowledge that no matter what "bad" decisions i make the dev's can't afford the resources to make the world states diverge too much so there is a very definite cap on how much real damage i can do. solavellan 5ever.

 

My lavellan let Celene die so Briala could take the throne and make radical changes for the elves. So, yeah, she's pretty ready for whatever craziness Solas is looking to unleash - so long as it's good for the elves and even if it might bring the world to the brink of destruction, so long as there's still a chance things might work out well she's willing to do it to help out her people.

I liked Ariane. The Mage-Templar War probably gave Finn the freedom to fulfill this: "Do you ever wish you could have the freedom to ****** anywhere you wanted without being stared at?"

 

I really like the AU in which Merrill is the Arcane Advisor to Celene and takes on Morrigan's role.  It gives Merrill a chance to shine outside of being a party member to Hawke and having an elf lecture people about Mythal and want to drink from the Well makes a lot more sense.

It's always werid when I see you call your m!Lavellan 'Revas' because that's my f!Lavellan's name. And Ave's (I believe.  She's mentioned having a Revas Lavellan a few times).

A lot of people seem to choose 'Revas', since it seems to be a common name that comes up when discussing the Dalish protagonist (I don't tend to use the name 'Lavellan' much since it seems like the protagonist simply plucked the name of the clan and told the shemlen to identify him that way since the Dalish protagonist in Origins was also supposed to have the same surname as the clan, although Clan Mahariel was changed to Clan Sabrae likely to avoid confusion when Marethari and Merrill brought her up).

 

I liked the idea of my character having the elven name that meant 'freedom', since I felt that was an ideal that he would strongly identify with. I'm sure Solas would agree. I actually had a few other names - an elven name for a pet, for example - that never came into practice.

That been said, I used my own name on my Lavellan because after spending hours on building her face, I just wanted to play her, and not spend another hour figuring out a fitting name (even though I usually have a pool of those). Though, at least now I'm 99.99% sure there's only one Delphine Lavellan. Screw the elvhen language/lore on that matter, we'll just say her mother knew an Orlesian that she loved deeply, to the point she named her daughter after her. *puts on glasses and walks away in the sunset*

For me, 'Revas' was mentioned in WoT in elven terminology; it's how I was also able to know that Solas had an elven name when he was first mentioned, back in the early days.

I have two Lavellans, neither of whom is named Revas.

 

Weird fact, I named my mage Lavellan after my (canon) rogue's sister but it's not her sister and they look nothing alike.

I looked through what we knew of the elven language and ended up naming my Lavellan Inan, which means eyes but more literally  windows to the soul. I thought it fit well with the new system we have for eye color, and it had a meaning to it I thought Solas could appreciate the complexity of. That, and I have a backstory of her getting teased for her name as child, and she hates it until Solas reveals the other meaning to her.

Miriel Lavellan here. I got it off a random elvish name generator (I think it's LoTR based...but I'm sure it can carry over to another universe )

 

I also blame Last Flight, but it's a pretty badass name for a Griffon

I only have Skyrim for PS3, I'm afraid. :c I don't know if I'll ever manage to finish a playthrough, as the combat system really irks me. Stupid crosshair.

My inquisitor's name is Revas. I love her so much. Tonight, I played more of the DLC and I finally got some screenshots, but not any super good ones. But here. I wanted to show you how much I love our new color scheme, too. Spoiled for...mild DLC spoilers?
