What sort of Dalish accidentally murders halla?
It's always Solas or Cass with the "accidental" halla-murder in my game. Look, guys, I get that you have problems with the Dalish but stop taking them out on the halla, ok? Solas, I don't care how allergic you are. You're being an ass.
I've seen it work on wolves in other areas though. I think some people on this thread have shown screenshots of it a thousand or so pages back.

Oh weird. Thanks for the clarification. I guess never worked properly for me, then, and I just didn't bother to try and fix it.
No problem. It really is kind of a pain to get to work after you initially acquire it, and most of the time I can't be arsed to fiddle with it, but it is fun to have a pack of wolves suddenly join your side in a fight. 
I had some that helped me clear out the Red Templars in Sahrnia Quarry not too long ago.
Sassy Lavellan is amazing. This is mostly my canon throughout the game.
But what I like the most about sassy Lavellan is that she's not really all that funny. She reminds me of someone who thinks she's as funny as Hawke, but ends up mostly laughing at her own jokes while the party looks on with slow shakes of their head. Wondering where they went wrong.
Like the bear puns. Amazing.
This sounds so much like my canon Lavellan
It works in all zones that have wolves. However it is temparmental and sometimes requires you to kill a pack of wolves, unequip and re-equip for it to work again. I always manage to get a pack of 4 or 5 to help me fight the undead in the Exalted Plains. Good times.

I tried pretty hard to avoid them with my Dalish too, yeah. On a weird but related subject, depending on what characters I make, I like to play by different rules. For example, in VERY HEAVILY OMG SO HEAVILY modded Skyrim, I had a cannibalism thing going on with a wood elf (no lore argument about the purpose of doing that outside of home, there were reasons!) who could only kill what she could carve into steaks and eat. Stealth missions were really important, or we'd sit and freeze to death waiting to finish off the leftover bandit sandwiches. Or perhaps you only turn in a direction where something is red. Whatever.
This relates because my Dalish (and me, since I hadn't been there before) actually found the grove in the Exalted Plains by deciding to interpret a herd of halla in an area as a sign to find a way around rather than risk them as collateral damage. It was pretty cool, and my inquisition write-up pretty much revolves around bringing insignificant accidents like that into the spotlight. The character-specific stories it turns my otherwise standard playthroughs of games into is what makes me happy.

Pillars of Eternity is giving me feels too ATM, though usually in the form of "OMG kill the horrible person who did the horrible thing RIGHT F***ING NOW" I'd forgotten how demented Obsidian's writing can really be.

Everything was my bane in JoH. I checked it out with a level 16 nightmare character. So many red skulls... I felt like I was playing in Jurassic Park. I enjoy it.

She is. Mostly because I like the name; in terms of personality, she has very little in common with Garth Nix's character But I like the Old Kingdom series, especially the magic system.

One thing I'd like to do in pillars of eternity. After I complete the game with my 'canon' character and the story party members, I plan to make a full DA team. So easy to add portraits to the game and hire custom party members.

It's kinda depressing, yes. Made worse by the fact that nobody, save Leliana in the epilogue I suppose, actually tried to make sure Lavellan is alright in the post-game. Some friends you guys are. ;_;
Yeah! I wanted to talk about it with Dorian, Cass, Cole... everyone! 
Sure made my Lavellan feel like she didn't have any real friends. And the fact that you don't have a different balcony ending, like Lavellan looking sad instead of happy... or thinking about him. Or having a dream about him coming to her on the balcony and she wakes up and realizes he's really not there. I was SO disappointed there wasn't one last thing about him besides the ending cutscene.
