Solas was actually the first time an elf was my favorite. I usually go for the male humans LIs.

For some reason I always end up choosing the elves in Dragon Age. Zevran, Fenris, Solas... I swear I don't plan it, it just happens. I was also quite partial to Sand from NWN2. And Xan from BG.

Did that work with your Inquisitor? I may have to try again. It could be it didn't work for me because I was trying to do it with a teal(ish) and a dark blue.

That did work in the end, but the blue was very light, sort of icy.

I have a picture of my eyes though this pic is a couple of years old taken by my ex but they are still the same color (spoiles cuz of the size):

Spoiler

You have beautiful eyes! <3

Oh, we're doing this right now? Oh man, and everyone has bright eyes. Where are my other T50s? Where are my Andrew Scott looking people whose pupils aren't distinguishable most of the time?

*raises hand* I'm a T50.  :wizard:

Thank you x3 I personally never liked my eye color hhah

Whaaaaat?!! Why?!?  I'd kill to have your eye color. (That sounded a bit creepy...)

Same here. xD I went Alistair for DA:O, and Anders for DA2. I would have gone for Cullen if Solas wasn't a made love interest. Then I would've had a trilogy of blond human LIs.

EDIT: I love elves and I love playing elves, but the male elven LIs didn't interest me until Solas came about.

Same, and I almost played human again. I planned to. This was my first time playing DA as an elf. I probably would've gone for Sera or Cullen if Solas were not a romance option.

Solas just drew me in right away.

In Dragon Age, usually the humans. In Mass Effect, it was Liara the whole series. I always pick whoever draws me in and this time, finally, it was an elf.

I tend to go for the elves too. From Linu in NWN1 to Solas in DAI, and nearly all in between.

Zevran from DAO was the only exception, as I was already rather smitten with Alistair when he showed up (gotta be quick on the draw there, Zev!), and he kind of reminded me too much of Gann-of-Dreams from NWN2: Mask of the Betrayer. After learning of Zev's backstory and witnessing his character development, I really felt like he was Gann reskinned. (Although, come to think of it, Gann's lone wanderer lifestyle and dream-walking tendencies now make him similar to Solas in my book... gyah!)

But yeah. If there's an elven companion in the party, odds are pretty good I'll like that character.

Haha, I understand. I never planned the human ones (except Anders since I was still hung up on him from Awakening), as you said it just happens.

Cool, I'll have to try it. Thanks!

Same here! Only I actually did go for Cullen first (with my Trevelyan). Then I tried the Solas romance and had to make it my main since I loved the romance/him so much.

I can go to sleep now. I have experienced this:

Spoiler

I'm a bit past that, but I was glad to have finally experienced it in my own game.

I'm not over that new blue and white armor on him, even if it did inspire a short, sad hellspiral fic.

Art time. :)

Solas and Lavellan arts:

Spoiler

Some Solas arts:

Spoiler

Lovely Solas and Dorian sketches by paperwick.

DAI companions in the style of Don't Starve.

Modern AU: Hipster Solas, Fenris, and Blackwall. :D

That second piece of art makes me wonder: who RPs when talking to their LI and who picks what is likely to give approval?  Personally, I RP.  One of the main reasons I switched from Sera to Solas, actually.

EDIT: stupid autocorrect.

Dorian is the product of very good selective breeding.

And quite by chance they got "nice" too!

RP all the way. Picking things just because they'd approve always makes me feel really like… idk… desperate? How tragic.

(Although maybe I lucked out and need to worry less about approval because my Lavellan is all about the justice and the freedom and the elven glory).

Geez, had to skip back a few pages to figure out why everyone was referring to themselves by an obscure alphanumeric system. Lol. Totally get it now though. :-)

I love noting the different colour of people's eyes. It's always the one thing I can clearly remember about a person. Ask me the eye colour of anyone I've met and I can pretty much get it every time. I'm about a D60 on that chart. I never liked my green eyes growing up. All my friends had lovely bright blue eyes, or rich chocolatey browns. Then you get older and realise that the things you hate about yourself are the same similarities you loved in your family. My wee nana had the same cheeky, flecked green eyes that were passed on to me. Now I wouldn't change my eye colour for the world.

I'm with you on this! :D I clearly remember eye color on other people, and not only that, but I remember faces really well, or particularities, even if meeting them briefly. They are like photographs in my mind, which I can pull out whenever I want.

I like my T50 color. I mean, I couldn't see myself with another color, I am just very used to mine. I love all eye colors and when I was little I did wish for blue ones, but then I just learned to like mine. All eyes are beautiful, regardless of color. They are not called "windows to the soul" for nothing. They are our most expressive trait, IMO.

Heh, my Hawke. ^  And after I dissed the f!Hawke x Fenris pairing. Oh well, it was sort of good while it lasted.

I'm lying. I didn't really like any of the romances in DA2, when it came down to it.

Also, she was a blood mage, so it didn't make a damn bit of sense.

Blaaah, new DLC still isn't out for PS4. Though I've had essays and Pillars of Eternity to keep me occupied in the meantime (speaking of which, PoE is totally worth it, can't recommend it enough. Elf mages will be the death of me).

Thanks for the heads up! My copy should be arriving today...

Fenris' was the only one I liked. I might have liked Sebastian's if it was more than two flirts leading to nothing.

Males weren't really better off. Isabella has an actual itch canonically named after her, so Merrill won out by default.

I don't know if it's , like , been said but what if:

The orb was/is the key to unlock the other gods but solas was too weak because of his slumber and thus gave it to corypheus , with led to the inquisition storyline. But in the fight with cory , the orb broke and that is why solas really left (and because he chickened out on telling lavellan the truth about himself). So now he has to find a way to , maybe , fix the orb?

And if the orb can't be fixed maybe lavellan (or any other inquisitor for that matter) now is the key to free the others because she took (all) the power from the orb or something?

(que DLC and they lived happily ever after x) )

so.. what if? Thoughts?

The above is basically exactly what Solas himself tells us in the ending scene.

Except for the last bit because the vallaslin talk with Lavellan occurred before the orb broke, so this cannot have been the reason.

Solas said the orb can not be repaired if I remember correctly.

I believe the key to doing whatever Solas is planning is by using power he absorbed by Flemeth.

edit: Did the Inquisitor technically absorb the orb's power? Maybe she could be used in whatever Solas is going to do ...
