The downside to launching on a Tuesday smack dab in the middle of Fall semester is that I'll have to wait until the following day to run home and pickup my copy from GameStop. Six hour Organic Chemistry labs are a bit of a drag.

I went to a midnight release once (for ME3) and there were like 50 guys and only 3 girls including me and the other two were together and came dressed in sweats/ratty hair (probably pjs or something) matching most of the guys there and I was still dressed from the day all girly frou frou and stuck out like a sore thumb. Add to that half those guys acting like they'd never seen a woman before and staring at my boobs. It was soooooo uncomfortable and I would never do it again. I've bought games at midnight from Walmart and there were few people and it wasn't any kind of event so I might do that but I'd rather order online or do digital.

 

Ughhh that sounds horrible I'm sorry. I used to hate going into places like GameStop when I was a teenager for that same reason. They staring and the invading of personal space and the unsolicited "conversations" (quotations because I don't think one-sided talking AT someone qualifies) and touching? Like wow whoa I'm here for a game not for you. Sad to hear they still haven't figured that out smfh.

I hope we get Solas early on. Partly because I'm just going to be embarrassingly giddy about it and I'd prefer to do that while I'm the only one here. I'll be riding the Red Hart Halla, so even if I get my butt handed to me a bunch of times I will look MAJESTIC doing it!

 

I was thinking about who we'd get first yesterday. Since (presumably) Cassandra is our first companion and she's a warrior, and she has a history with Varric, so I'm kind of imagining him as our first rogue. Solas' expertise would make him a reasonable first mage encounter, since he'll probably be pretty invested in checking out the breach and I imagine one of the very first story line quests will have something to do with trying to figure out what the Inquisitor's hand can do.

 

Why wouldn't they head straight to the finest Fade expert in Thedas before anyone else?

I love how Solas and Cole are looking at each other while trying to figure out what the women find so interesting about nail polish.

I think who we find first might be partially dependent on what paths we choose first. It seems like some companions you'll probably come across somewhat by chance and others probably have to wait a while. Since Vivienne throws you a party, I'd assume maybe she's actually one of the later ones. You wouldn't think she'd be trying to impress some unimportant upstart group? There are others that I think they said come to you, so I imagine you have to have a certain amount of influence to get them.

Makes sense to me! Like Nocte just said above, I think Vivienne will be slightly later. We'll need to get a mage fairly early on, so I'd expect either Solas or Dorian...but seeking us out that close to the beginning of it all? Hopefully Solas.

Ahh, I have heard ALL of those SO many times. The second and third ones would particularly make me FURIOUS, oh. Like, I was a huge Silent Hill fan back in my PS2 days, and I distinctly remember that when I bought The Room I was told "that can't be what you're looking for; here, let me help you" and the dude TOOK IT OUT OF MY HAND.

I may or may not have smiled sweetly, taken his extended hand... and used it jerk him forward while twisting it the wrong way and smashing full force down on his foot.   I was a rash youth, ehe.

 

It wasn't long after that then I decided being HARASSED wasn't worth it and I'd rather pay Amazon for shipping than walk down the street.

@ manabloom, Thankfully I've been to a couple GameStops in New York not too long ago and the people there were lovely.  I think it may just be people in my area and maybe yours that suck!

If Solas spends a lot of time in the Fade maybe he can feel the breach somehow, and then goes looking for it. Either way, news of the only person who can close the big demon sky holes being a member of the Inquisition would probably travel pretty fast.

My daughter's fandom is, alas, a boy band. 5SOS. She's loved them since they started on Youtube, and now they're kind of a big deal and I got dragged to a concert and was almost trampled by a horde of shrieking teenage girls and LET ME JUST TELL YOU ABOUT HOW I HATE GENERAL ADMISSION CONCERTS. But I won't because it's really just me swearing and throwing things. When I took her to see Muse (MY pick), we had seats. Good, real, actual seats. Crowds make me stabby. But yeah, she's all kinds of involved in the fandom. She's 14. I...try not to judge. My taste wasn't stellar at that point either. 

 

The idea of my avvie smashing her face against the window made me laugh! Now I kind of want to actively try to freak out the UPS man...

I, will be honest and say I got no clue who they are. Pardon me whilst I google...

OHHHH!! Okay, I've heard some of their songs on the radio before. I've never seen their photos before though. My gods, they look like they are freaking 12...

But IIRC their songs aren't that bad, not anything I really listen to, but there are worse out there.

Yeah, in the Cullen thread Allan said that he was skipping some pieces, so the timeframe was completely borked. Don't bother trying to figure out a timeline based on anything Allan, or any of the Devs, tweet about.

I'm embarrassed to say this...but I did miss Fenris the first time. I went through the whole game thinking "Some things are optional to do. I don't want to help this dwarf guy." So I skipped the mission. I finished the whole game and looked online before I realized what had happened. The party felt empty and I didn't know why. lol Dumb person is dumb.

Ah, well that was also years ago... I can't quite remember the year, but somewhere around the mid 2000s. And that WAS this one particular employee that was always getting entirely too close and touching me even though I made it very clear I had no interest in such things. Hence that rather physical reaction, hah. Not something I would do now but lil sixteen year old me (or whatever variant of teenager i was at the time) had a bad temper and didn't understand the finer points of that crap just yet.

It's good to hear you've had better experiences recently, though! I would HOPE that kind of nonsense is getting less and less, goodness sake!

Oh, they're not bad, really. Not my thing, but credit to them for sounding the same live as they do on the radio. And they have very good hair.  But when confronted with the question, "Mom, who do you think is the hottest?" I can only respond, "Um, I feel like me even trying to figure out an answer to that is illegal. So...no. Just no."

 

I think the best thing for the release day delivery would be a Sloth mask. Like from Goonies. Then when he looked up I could yell "HEY YOU GUYS!" My only fear is that he'd drop the game and stomp on it, possibly breaking it. That would not be okay. Me having a nervous breakdown in my foyer wearing a Sloth mask is very not okay.

Wow wow wow... ergh, so sorry for all these bad Gamestop experiences. I don't get bothered or harassed when I go in. Then again, maybe that's because almost all of the times I've gone in there was a woman working. So I must just luck out.

Annnddd dang, look at all your fancy plans. I uh... I splurged and got the Inquistors edition (gottah have those cards and whatnot, I'm a sucker for exclusive art) so it can be shipped to wherever I am at the time. But I guess I don't have any plans since I'm not sure where I'll be or what I'll be doing come November. Best case scenario is that I'll get it, I'll play it over some time, and it'll be alllll gooooooood. B >
