On an off-topic note. I'm in a gaming rutt at the moment. Don't know why, but I just fancy a game where you explore, build your own little homestead and grow some crops, tend some animals, build shiny things etc. I've tried Haven & Hearth, modded Skyrim and Minecraft etc. even Archage, but they only scratch an itch so far. (Haven & Hearth was probably the closest but it's empty and I hate pvp.
Can anyone think of some alternatives. I've been googling the hell out of it, but I'm coming up with duds.
Have you tried Landmark? There's no 'growing crops' or 'tending animals' but it's got everything else.

Weirdly I find it's the perfect cure for my writers block? Everyones fab writing really inspires me. And also it's so easy to smash out a little fic with existing characters in existing scenarios? Great for warm ups.
(Also apparently all of my in game tears were not enough and I need to keep torturing myself by reading everyone else's sad, sad fics)

I did. Just the one - it was the infamous Draco series by Cassandra Clare back in like 2002-2003. OH GOD. After that I was like...umm...I'm sure I can read other things. Like books.

I just hung my MFA thesis gallery show all of last week, had the opening on Friday, and my family left town yesterday! I even cut myself off from the chat during most of that time so I could focus.

Same here. Totally new to this but it's been nice to get things flowing in this manner. I do a lot of general writing for work, so it's a complete change to get back into that creative space. I used to write my own fiction a lot years ago but it sort of dried slightly. It has been nice to be inspired by all these feelings and small moments, as well as other people's fics. I was even super hesitant to share but it was kind of freeing and made me stop editing incessantly.

I've been on the fanfiction train since Harry Potter when I was 14. So basically, over a decade of trash. I have no regrets 
Before DA:I, it has actually been a few years since I've actually read fanfics. The last fanfics I read were during the ME3 days (mostly smut on Tumblr xD). Now DA:I has revived my interest in reading fanfiction again, due to the Solavellan hellspiral I'm in. So yeah, now I read smut and fluff and maybe a bit of sad fics depending on my mood. If I knew how to write well, I'd write some myself. xD
hehe..I am a horrible writer, doesn't stop me.

Didn't stop me when I was fourteen and doing ALL the bad Mary-Sue self-inserts. Like, Hogwarts transfer student bad 
But in hindsight, the more writing you do, the better you get, even if it starts out a little painful.
