Whoever posted that Mary Lambert song, I'm currently kind of feels-ing over her album.
Here is how we spiral:
Whoever posted that Mary Lambert song, I'm currently kind of feels-ing over her album.
I picked Liara instead of waiting for Garrus so that was one problem I didn't have. I've heard that ManShep gets an actual speical option to say he's into Liara and, if that's true, I am so annoyed it's not in the game for FemShep.
The whole 'being pushed towards this romance' is also (one of) the reasons I don't like Jacob. Shepard always sounds like she wants his priiiiiiiiize whenever she speaks to him. Shepard. No. You have a girlfriend.
YES! She leans against that table and says "I just...want to talk." so friggin suggestively. And he's so boooooring. I just want to shout "Go flirt with Garrus woman!!!" at my screen everytime. Ugh.
I completely agree, but...
After my first playthrough I started thinking: I know this romance will end horribly and I don't really care for Jacob, but it looks like my femshep really, REALLY wants dat ass. So who am I to deny it to her? Next time I'll probably cave and let her have it.
This mentality carried over to DA:I too. Having skimmed through the list of romance options, I had originally planned to go after Blackwall, but after experiencing the glory that is Solas, my Lavellan just looked at him like he was the best thing ever. I could practically see the little hearts floating above her head. "Cancel all the plans!" I thought and just went with it. Best. decision. ever.
And speaking of DA-related dreams, I finally had one too.
Possible mild JoH spoilers.
*raises hand*
I've fallen in love with a lot of her songs this past week. Didn't know she existed before that. 'When you sleep' just fits Solas x Lavellan so well. I like 'Sum of our parts' as well.
I listened to her album before, when it first came out, and liked it, but hadn't listened in months. So Far Away and When You Sleep....feeeeels.

You're a monster and I love you.
That song is now officially part of my 'cry and eat my feelings' mix.
lol. I'm sorry and not sorry. I torment myself with songs like this far too much. I refuse to suffer alone. *shakes fist*You're a monster and I love you.

Ollo! Time for self-promotion again: I posted a new oneshot (developing relationship between my Inquisitor and Solas, set during the journey to Skyhold) : http://archiveofouro...g/works/3660534

Yeah. Solas is actually pretty economical in his speech and betrays a lot of his emotions through facial expressions. GDL did a GREAT job selling Solas' care for the Inquisitor in that final scene. But the cinematics department. Holy ****. So much was said in those facial expressions between the Quizzy and him. You just see how wrecked he is, I believed it.
Exactly, since at the beginning of that scene, you get Solas so light and happy, which you can also read on his face. In the space of five or so minutes, it's completely the opposite. Especially if you choose to shove him and walk off (I did not but I will on Lavellan #2).
Kaiden annoyed me because if you're nice to him as FemShep the game assumes you're in a romance. There's no option to tell him 'nope. Interested in Liara/saving myself for Garrus'. The one convestation you can break off this imagined romance with him involves Shepard being a bit horrible about it. There's not even a neutral 'we're just friends' option.
Ugh this, so much of this.
I wanted my Shepard to be single in ME1, but I felt that it's really important for me to RP a person who cares about her subordinates so I spoke with each, made sure to catch up with them.. And then Kaiden asked me about Liara and I was "nope, nope" and a minute later Liara asked about Kaiden and I told her "nope nope, he's just a friend".
Somewhere along the way I messed up (apparently, I'm not even sure HOW) and I didn't find a way out of the Kaiden romance, each dialogue led to a flirt, it was a choice between nice flirt, casual flirt and some-stabby-flirt... All the way to the part where he came to her cabin.
At that point I just tried to RP that she felt stressed so she ran to Kaiden, and that after ME1 ended she realized she felt nothing and Kaiden was just there for comfort. Unfortunately, when they met on Haven (should've killed him off, but didn't because I dislike Ashley) it seemed like Shepard felt something for Kaiden (way to ruin the headcanon) ![]()
And then Jacob showed up, I spoke to him ONCE and then stopped because it felt like my Sheppie was flirting like mad with him no matter what I chose (the priiiiiiiiiiiiize)... I spoke to him again after I started the romance with Garrus ![]()
Seriously, you people never heard of being nice? Garrus is the only one I had to be upfront with in order to start a romance. By the end of the game Thane decided to call me Siha! I considered stopping talking with him because of that T_T
And then.. Freakin' James. I let him call me Lola because my Sheppie likes seeing her crew in the eye and that led to endless flirting. Every time they spoke they flirted. James in the Citadel? GAH. STAHP. Regretted when I invited him into her apartment. I even loaded once an older save because I was scared I ruined something with Garrus.
Nevermind it all.
Garrus' romance was perfection ![]()

I wish I'd found her sooner. Her voice is absolutely lovely. 99% of my playlist is all character feels inducing stuff but it's been harder finding stuff for Solas. Or I'm just too picky. Could be a little of both.
this one sort of, to me,
Patrick Weekes deserves all the credit since it was after that "what we listened to when we wrote DAI" writers' blog and mentioning her, I began listening to k.d. lang again.

Bring Cole with you for maximum feels. Though be sure to kit him out with cold resist, fire damage, and guard on hit first. I love that kid, but damn is he ever squishy.

Every time I see Lavellan and the hart, or read it in fanfiction, I think of Ashitaka and Yakul from Princess Mononoke. So cute ![]()
I feel kinda lame for just noticing that party order pretty much determines world/situation dialogue. I usually put mages at the back of the conga line to keep them from being in the heat of battle I run head long into.
Really?! No wonder why Cass is always so chatty in my game. I'll have to change that in the future.

Thank you
! It means a lot to me, 'cause I've really just started writing fanfictions (this one is my 3rd), and I'm still a little insecure about my writing in English ^-^
Yeah, I've heard nothing but praise for the second one. (Well, less so from other traditional cRPG fans like myself, so I'm wary.)
To be honest, I'm not that into sci fi or modern console games. I kind of wanted to just play ME2 to see what all the hype was about and end it there, but my friend said the default worldstate of ME2 SUCKS, and it's better to play the first game so you know and appreciate what's going on in the second.
Earthborn/Sole Survivor background? That makes three of us. I've also resolved to romance Liara for my "canon" 3-game-run. (Will probably create a second playthrough or divergent path for Garrus, and possibly a third one for Thane.) I also kind of play her as someone with Renegade leanings, but who makes a conscious effort to make Paragon choices. (Mostly she leans toward "neutral/"stoic" middle options.)
I'm far more of a Dragon Age fan than a Mass Effect fan. I loved playing them but they're not games I'll play over and over and then analyses like I do with the DA games.
There is the Genesis DLC that lets you customise the worldstate a little and if you're on PC there should be a save editor you can use.
Earthborn/Sole Survivor is the best combination! Gives you the most connection to Earth and Cereberus.

This playthrough I decided to have Solas second in line and now his comments take priority. So many things I haven't heard before.
Wait, what?
He's the reason I fell in love with her version of Hallelujah. Though I still prefer it sung by the Canadian Tenors. Man, can those dudes sing. Gives me chills.
And yes~ That one does fit, too. This is not helping my already desperate need for closure. xD
I'm listening to her version of Hallelujah right now, actually.
And for maximum feelings, next up in my playlist is a bunch of Eva Cassidy.

Thank you! I hadn't planned on bringing Cole, because my Lavellan is also a DW rogue, but now I'm definitely going to take him. Must maximize the feels!
Wait, what?
How so? Not more than any of the other new LIs from ME2, I'd say. I'm very glad he didn't get a Disney happy ending. His story ended appropriately.
I know Weekes mentioned K.D. Lang's Hallelujah, but her version does nothing for me.
I've listened too much of Jeff Buckley's cover of Hallelujah to fully appreciate any other version of this song anymore, they all sound bland to me in comparison to his version of this song, completely gut/heart-wrenching.
