I've seen this. At the time, I got the rage. I was there. I was mad. I loved the series.  But it's 2015.  Witcher 3 is coming out.  It's about to be summer in NA.  Dragon Age DLC is almost a certainity with Solas at this point. There are beautiful and weird visual novels to play. It's like - YAY OTHER THINGS!  I dunno. I let go of the anger for ME3 and just resigned myself to enjoying the lovely small beats in the game that are worth revisting. Tuchanka/EDI/Citadel/Legion/Leviathan - all that stuff is worth it for me.

That's how I feel about it. In fact, I wasn't even that upset with the ending. I had a lot of fun playing the game up until the last 10 mins or so. I've played it several times since and probably will again. I do totally understand why people were upset and still are though.  The ending did indeed suck.

After the Fade kiss scene, when you go talk to him next.

I wish they had a cutscene for that whole conversation.  I would've loved seeing Solas' body language and facial expressions, especially during the fade tongue part  :P

I liked it! But I also had a Hawke who didn't perceive Anders' actions as betrayal, who'd completely drunk the violent mage revolution Kool-Aid.  Most people didn't RP that hard  I don't have a problem with Anders blowing up the Chantry in concept, but its in-game execution was IMO sloppy.

I liked the position it put my Hawke in. It was one of the few times that I felt really, really, really morally conflicted about a choice. Because she was totally in love with him and also a huge supporter of mage rights, but would never personally have taken a course of action that hurt so many innocent people.

That said, I kind of get why people were hecka mad about it.

Given that most party members have something to collect/destroy/turn on, I would probably say that ultimately the elven artifacts are irrelevant to the story. Its just a means of gaining reputation with Solas.

As interesting as it is to speculate what it might do.

The betrayal didn't bother me. I thought it was a cool twist. I just wasn't happy about the drastic change in his character. I understand why he changed. I just loved Anders from Awakening, and I wanted to slap him every time he opened his mouth in DA2. I didn't like that my feels toward him had such a drastic flip.

I'd really love it if they could release more content to make the artifact part of the story, rather than just Solas rep. They just seem kinda pointless in that respect.

Yes, this. It's a game thing for approval. I also think it was important that Mihris has the same story about them and is an outside source, having learned this elsewhere, likely from her Keeper.

I was just glad to see that Mihris had learned her lesson about f***ing with things she can't handle.  I suppose surviving a possession would do that to you.

I think her choices were between being flayed with the rest of her clan or being possessed. She made the most of a bad situation.

I actually like Mihris, being possessed wasn't entirely her fault either. Not sure how I would react if my entire family and relatives got killed in front of me as well.

The mage/templar thing would have gone fubar sooner or later.  Anders and Justice just made it happen sooner.  But I agree, I don't think Anders himself would've been the same in DA2 without Justice.  He probably wouldn't even have left the Wardens.  They're two different characters in Awakening, and effectively one in DA2, with some really tragic results.

I was listening to the Awakening party banter a few weeks ago, and it made me so, so sad for both of them.  Road to hell, good intentions, blah blah blah.

Any of the artists here willing to draw the converstation in comic form?

I really wish the game had shown the Chantry to be fuller.  I think a lot of people are unaware that a religous building that size would've had at least 100 people living in it.  DA2 just shows a few sister, Sebastian and that guy who can't stay away from the Rose.

People are far too hard on the Clan in TME.  They have one racist hunter and an idiot for a Keeper but the rest of them were just living their lives as best they could.

Which is I guess why people freaked out over the Keep narration that said the explosion killed hundreds of people.

Because of the fact Justice is so merged with Anders, I can't fault him for doing what he did. It was a terrible act; however his judgement was clouded. So in turn my Hawke forgave him.
Poor Anders :(

Many of those would've been Ferelden refugees and orphans.  (I'm apparently one of the few people who listens to those sisters chatting in the Chantry).

I just want to know if the Blooming Rose guy made it out okay.

I was so confused by that freak out because it was like… of course it killed hundreds of people. Religious structures like that are always full of people, people living there, people seeking temporary asylum there, people there just praying during the day. Not to mention anyone who lived nearby whose homes would have also been crushed in the blast.

The game definitely should have shown more of the devastation, but I'd have thought that people were at least imaginative enough to use a bit of deductive reasoning.

Ah, I see.  Thanks!  I guess I was too distracted by that scene that I barely listened to the dialogue xD

Everytime I saw someone saying that the explosion only killed Elthina and a handful of Templers my reaction is tumblr_ngxt36Zsn71smwj1yo1_500.gif

Lay brothers and sisters, scholars, refugees, orphens, people who came in to pray or seek guidance, people who happened to be near the Chantry, priests.  That's just the groups I can list off the top of my head.

*disgusted noise* is the greatest gift that Dragon Age has given us and the finest thing David Gaider has ever written.

I hope it goes mainstream - one of those gifs that people may not know what it's from but have seen it enough to know exactly what to use it for.

Would anyone be interested in beta reading some Shapeshifter!Solas/Lavellan fanfic? It's fluff and 2,400. A one shot. It needs some clean up... and I keep feeling like it's missing something, though I can't put my finger on what.
